Chapter 10: 10. Questions and answers.
"Frist of all, who sent you?" I asked.
Luv pondered for a bit.
"Have you heard of the order of the paladins ?" she asked.
I raised a brow, "No..?"
"Figured.." she shrugged.
"Second question", I spoke," what exactly are you looking for in the cemetery?".
She flashed a cheeky smile, " I guess I'll have to tell you, the female assassin sighed".
"Little maid," she poked out a finger towards me.
"Do you know about the frist king..?" She asked leaning back against the counter, legs crossed.
"The frist king of Persia?" I raised my brows, "yes that one" she added.
"What about him?" I asked.
"Long ago, before both of us were even born, the frist king created the Persian empire, a placed where all humans and knights live in harmony. But have you asked yourself why was this feat a very significant feat ".
I've only heard the lore a few times, from the maids but they had always refered Leonard as the frist king, no other name.
"Leonard wasn't only a knight, no he was much more than that.." Her eyes flashed with admiration.
Silence loomed for a bit then she finally spoke.
"He was an Angel slayer." She paused.
"A mighty one".
Zach had noticed something wrong abut the chamber from the moment he set his eyes on Leonard's coffin, the aura eating from it pulsated like it was alive.
"So what are you looking for exactly" I added an emphasis on the 'exactly'.
"We are looking for his sword"
'Huh..?'
"Yes, the sword of the frist king the one he used to vanquish the angels.." Her smiled halted.
"It's name is Astryx ".
"What are you guys planning to do when you get your hands on it..?."
Hesitation was evident on her face.
"I'm sorry but I can't answer that question".
'I figured. '
One of the reasons why I accepted this challenge was to seehoe much information could be revealed before she reached her limits. But I don't want to stop here, I want to push my luck.
"How do you activate the hidden mechanism in the library".
She asked, interrupting my thoughts,
"Oh yeah.. that.." I smirked.
I'm afraid I can't tell you that..." Her eyes visibly twitched as her smile faded.
"I thought you were confident you were gonna kill me..." I taunted.
"If you tell me what the sword is gonna be used for, I'm going to tell you exactly how you can activate the mechanism" I belated my chest.
The female assassin was lost in thought as her gaze drifted to the window.
"You shouldn't give it a thought" I gestured.
"This is the best free chance you're gonna get"
[Mission fail - The prince is dead]
A message popped on my screen but I ignored it.
"The sword is going to be the going to be the cornerstone against the battle Creed will wage on this nation".
My eyes widened.
Creed was one of the four Major kingdoms in the Great continent of Rest, the great continent consist of numerous small kingdoms with four kingdoms being the biggest, Avalon (the kingdom of the east), Havenwood (the kingdom of the east), Creed (The kingdom of the north) and finally Persia (The kingdom of the south).
The four kingdoms are the oldest and most powerful nations in the Great Rest.
Creed, is the nation located in the cold north, and they were planning an attack on Persia?.
I just couldn't believe this.
"How much Time do we have.."
"Tell me how I can activate the mechanism frist".
I sighed.
"The book, you activate the mechanism by pushing the a dusty grey book by the third shelf to the left, the entrance with Is the painting of Michelin will slid open."
"Thanks for you services.."
I heard a voice behind me, my eyes widened, and that's when it hit me.
'The red assassin!!!?? '
Boom*
The pain was instant, and silent, the slivetine surfactant of the sword was painted in my blood as it penetrated my back from my back.
My mouth bleed as I collapsed on the ground bleed out.
With my last breath, I turned.
There before me the red assassin stood tall, holding the blade stained with my blood in his hands.
"Oh and before you go.."
My consciousness slowly drifted, as I heard Luv's voice
"It's going to be two years from now" She giggled.
[Player has died]
This information was seriously great, the four nation were at peace for the past two decades and no sigh of provocation has been made by the opposition so Persia having to face creed in two years was crazy.
' Return'
I covered my eyes as the light rays from the sun hit my face.
"Grey.."
I heard Amy's voice.
I looked back to see the blonde maid holding the tray for me.
I sighed.
"Hey " I said.
She tried to hand me the tray, and this time I took it.
You haven't eaten anything so I thought I could give you something to eat.
I cracked a smile, "Thanks I guess" I said.
Amy slowly walked away as I stared at her back while she was about to disappear into the corridors.
"Amy.." I called out.
"Huh..?" she flinched.
"I want to ask you something", I spoke
"What is it ?" She asked, turning to face me.
If you had two years to live, what would you prioritize.
The yound maid was taken aback by the sudden question.
"Umm", she pondered.
"I think I would try to take care of those dear to me better", she said.
I immediately rolled my eyes internally.
I should've expected the good-girl response from someone like her.
