Heavenly Opposers

Chapter 164-Heavenly Opposers?

Back at Ingrid, Azrail had come upon that book, the one called 'Heavenly Opposers,' the very book that gave detailed explanations of everything happening in the cosmos, ones about the known and unknown. The drama, sadness, and loss of all the great characters that rose to power, the hidden realms, and great knowledge that people would kill for, everything was there in the book.

He had stored everything in his mind. All information was within him, and when he got reborn back here, Azrail, in his controlled mind, made several plans using that knowledge. But after being freed, Azrail thought of giving that knowledge up. There is no guarantee that those beings that were controlling him might not use the same knowledge to trap him, he had that fear of using his knowledge till Death guaranteed its safety.

It is from there that several different hints started to appear. Ever since the control of his body was taken back by him, he had regained his true mind. Hence he started to notice all those small details. For example, by now Azrail had given a small number of people access to his memories, yet none of them were able to grasp upon the part of him reading the book.

It seemed to have a mental block that even if he wanted to, no one could read it. And what was even deeper was the fact that even All-Seer doesn't have access to this memory! He had felt it when it tried to read through him, and the part about 'Heavenly Opposers' was blurred out, even it couldn't see through the depths of that.

Then, of course, couldn't it mean that those beings making him their puppet could have placed a seal on it? It's more than plausible. It was for that did he gambled. Azrail didn't just take his name to erase control of the past, it was also to see if his speculations were true, and this time his hypothesis was right.

Once he got rid of his name, the connections of control were lost fully, and Azrail clearly felt the difference. He had felt the connection of those beings attached to him wither off, his greatest gift, the ultimate knowledge of the future, was still there. It wasn't connected to anything of such, the connection of that gift lay somewhere else.

But then came the question: who gave him the book? Why was it inscribed with the cultivation technique? Wasn't it the gift those beings granted him?

Azrail had found it very confusing after regaining his mind. The cultivation technique Omega Asura's Wrath, was it that easy to cultivate? Powerful cultivation techniques such as those would require extreme conditions and a whole another level of talent to start cultivating, yet was he able to do it in a lower realm? Back then with his 'ok' level talent?

In other words, the powers that controlled him knew about the Heavenly Opposers existing within him yet it wasn't them that gave it to him.

Adding onto that, is a cultivation technique capable of granting such powerful flames from just practicing? No, Azrail knew it deep in his heart. Those flames existed in his way before he took on the cultivation technique; they were a part of him, and cultivating Omega Asura's Wrath was the gateway that led him to finally unlock them.

All this while he had imagined that to be the gift those controlling beings gifted him, an extreme power to reign above everyone. But it would seem that he was at fault. If he comes to think of it, the inheritance to the Tower may have been a power that the beings wanted to gift him, a change made solely for him.

Then if all of those were the truth, where did the 'Heavenly Opposers' come from? And why is it that he wasn't feeling a hint of hostility towards it? Azrail had come to recognize what is his and what isn't, he could feel it deep into his bones that the stories he read were his, and he could feel the extreme happiness of his flames. Azrail knew that those flames were his.

And no one can control his feelings, with Death in a row, no one can control his mind. Everything he was feeling was the truth, it was the same feeling one felt when something that should be theirs is returned back to them,

'This was supposed to be mine'

Azrail's eyes narrowed heavily. He petted the fox with one hand while his other trailed along the smooth hair of Valencia. He had found another mystery, but this one wasn't malicious, he could tell, hence he would use it to his advantage, making everything he wanted his. And so what if the ones watching him felt suspicious? Who dares to piss off Death?

"Hehehe"

Chilling sounds left Azrail's mouth, earning a confused glare from Adrea, while the cute fox Rhena licked Azrail's finger,

'I feel light'

Thinking so, he turned his attention towards the door, while Adrea looked at him, giving him a glare she disappeared back into Valencia's body while the fox turned into smoke and returned to Valencia,

"Enter"

Azrail said while he put a veil over Valencia's face. It was okay for him, but if ones below Valencia's cultivation saw her face without her permission then they would become slaves of hers, especially when Valencia was out cold and wasn't even controlling the charm leaking out of her body. Just as he finished speaking, Yunbai entered the room.

His eyes fixated on Azrail, as they widened. Yunbai who had returned felt as if Azrail was different, as if he was more ominous.

"How was it?"

Azrail asked as he carefully kept looking after Valencia,

"It's fine, everything went as planned"

Yunbai spoke as he tossed a sack towards Azrail who caught it, his sense flashing through it as he felt the several powerful spatial rings in it. Then his sense focused on Yunbai who had his killing intent and aura sharpened,

"You seem to have had fun"

Azrail spoke with a smile,

"Not as much as you"

Yunbai said as his eyes trailed toward the girl in Azrail's arms,

"A secret"

Azrail said, to which Yunbai shrugged his shoulder, not minding it much,

"Heard you changed your name and left the family?"

Yunbai asked, to which Azrail nodded his head,

"It was a bloody leave"

Azrail spoke with a cold smile, bringing on a bloodthirsty one on Yunbai's face,

"You should have called me too"

Yunbai said with his eyes shining,

'He is falling into the yearning of slaughter'

Azrail marked as he responded,

"Well, it was a quick affair. Plus, don't tell me you didn't have enough slaughter back at the Secret Realm?"

"I did, it was fun"

Yunbai said, his smile widening, while the aura of slaughter started to increase. Seeing this, Azrail sighed and released his hidden aura of slaughter while closing off the area. As soon as his killing intent was out, Yunbai's was suppressed, his smile being lost while his knees started to buckle,

"Control Yunbai, don't let it take you"

Azrail said with a chilling voice, causing the mental sweetness of slaughter to fade away. Azrail's slaughter aura completely took over and stripped Yunbai of his, letting his mind turn to normal. Seeing so, Azrail took away his killing intent, looking at the pale and trembling Yunbai he spoke,

"Take rest for now, we will talk later"

Hearing his words, Yunbai nodded his head and walked out of the room, leaving Azrail mulling in his thoughts,

'He needs an anchor'

Azrail thought, something powerful enough to hold him in place so that he wouldn't be lost in his desire. Thinking so, several different ideas flashed through his mind until he stopped on the best one possible, the idea brought a sly smile to his face,

'A woman or a pet'
