'Just what is this tower?'

Xiao questioned himself, getting more and more weirded out by it as he started to learn more information. From what he had gathered, the beings that belonged to a world that was destroyed were gathered as citizens within the tower. In return for living their life in the tower as its inhabitants, they lost the right to ever leave the tower.

They and their descendants shall never leave this tower, spending their lives there. The only way to break that hellish cycle is to kill the successors of Constellations that appear to climb the tower to the top.

'Just how many trials are there.....?'

There were the 'tutorial' trials created by the constellations for their successors to go through, such that they would gain an extreme understanding of their power and receive treasure. From what Xiao has gathered, once a successor of the constellation reaches the 50th level of their trial, they would be able to enter the true tower, where several different beings live or it could be done when the constellation in question feels that their legacy holder is ready.

From then on, they will climb the true tower to the top, reaching an unbelievable amount of power, treasures, and authority on each climb. It would also seem that with each climb, some kind of power pushes the constellation's power higher, plus it's said that those who reach the 99th floor will have a power that's too amazing to imagine.

This answer brought a frown to Xiao's face. Literally, no being is capable of just granting a wish, but if such a trial exists, why did another trial exist to choose a successor for the tower? Better yet, who the hell made such a tower?

The ones that couldn't reach the top had already made their own legacies, kingdoms, and powers. Such powerful people lay in the tower. In fact, the dimensions of the tower are extremely different from that of the world of cultivation. In fact, it's more similar to Ingrid in certain ways.

Li Lun being a constellation meant that 99% of all that lived in the tower wanted her dead. It was the easiest way for them to go towards the true outside world, without trying to reach the 99th floor. This had led to a very tragic life for Li Lun.

In fact, if there's anyone that knows what lay on the 99th floor it would have been Li Lun or her future past self?

'Sigh... if only I knew more.'

In the book, there was a detailed movement of Li Lun's journey, one that would shake any heart. But in the end, the story of what happened after she entered the 99th floor isn't there, nothing about her 'wish' lay, the one that gave Xiao the book didn't want him to know what had happened.

And this so-called trial meant that he would have complete control over this tower and all its inhabitants?

Deep, extreme anger started to burn within Xiao's heart, the two awakened flames danced about around him at his immense anger, dark sinister aura started to leave his body, while all of the beings within the realm of death felt their body tremble, the 21 lords reigning over feeling extreme anger bubbling within themselves.

The moment Death waved his reaper down at him, it had cut off all connections that controlled him, yet Xiao had somehow ended up in this situation and he knew the exact reason for it. Xiao's eyes looked toward the resting girl, his eyes softening a bit, right now he needed more information before he could take any action.

'Reaper we need to talk'

'I'm here, my friend.'

Reaper replied to Xiao, making him start his questioning.

'Is my fate under anyone's control still?'

'No'

Reaper directly replied to which Xiao asked.

'The fate of anyone I care about, are they in any sudden danger?'

'No they are all safe from the clutches of *&&-^%$# and ^&&-%$#^&*# but they must have done some plays without me knowing before or after'

Though the last of the words weren't acceptable to Xiao he understood that everything was good for him now, seeing so Xiao asked the main question that Reaper understood.

'Why everything?'

'You don't have to worry about all the sudden good things happening to you, you can accept them without any worries, they will not backfire on you, nor will the memories and ideas you have of the future, any and all gifts you have received and will receive will only help you become the greatest'

These wordings of Reaper brought Xiao's mind to full throttle, his mind going through several plans and scenarios as he asked.

'Why help me when whoever it was controlling me has lost control of me?'

'They bet everything on you and they have no way back, in that case, they are going full-on investment in you, for even if they don't control you, you will achieve their final goal'

This reply of Reaper's brought a small evil smile to Xiao's face, his mind jumping at several opportunities and routes.

'So basically I still have their full power and blessings to go full out without any consequences?'

Xiao asked to which Reaper replied.

'In a manner of speaking'

'Interesting...'

Xiao didn't doubt for a moment that once he does whatever wants to be done those beings wouldn't hesitate to try and get rid of him.

'So till then, it will be a fight for everything I can take...'

Since whatever they are gave him such hell, Xiao plans to milk them for everything they hold.

'Can you tell me the full story?'

Xiao asked and Reaper replied.

'You are not strong enough to know them, their names or just their information will crush your soul.'

An apathetic reply came, making Xiao bite his lips hard but above that, certain new information started to play in his mind.

'If they will try to kill me when I am done, then that also means they will try their best to keep me alive till it's done'

Thinking so a dagger appeared in Xiao's hand, and without any hesitation, Xiao stabbed the dagger into his heart, directly injuring it!
