Heavenly Opposers

Chapter 120-Broken Legacy

While once again problems were blooming within the higher realms and powers, in front of both Li Lun and Xiao, an unbelievable sight took place. The moment Xiao had finished speaking, Li Lun had gone into a daze. It lasted for a moment after which a grey-colored light started to shine from within her, and before they knew it, the whole room was cut off from the realm itself, and a door appeared in front of the two.

The entire door was grey in color, with a menacing and dangerous aura covering the whole of it. It was filled with ancient patterns, a language Xiao was unable to decipher. In fact, the entire Comic realm speaks a single inherent language that came into birth due to All-Realm. Due to its connection, a single language connecting everyone was born.

But that doesn't mean that other languages do not exist, especially in places where the dweller node can't reach and is closed off. Plus, before the presence of All-Realm, languages spread across the cosmos were wide and varied.

'The door to another.'

Xiao's eyes narrowed as he glanced at the door. While the door was grey, the patterns that filled it were written with pure black. In the middle stood the image of a being standing and gazing back, somehow its figure eluding the gaze of all, only its three eyes were seen, gazing back with utter darkness.

"Xiao?"

Suddenly, Li Lun called out, breaking Xiao out of his thoughts as he turned towards her. Right now, her face looked serious, while her hands were trembling.

"What's going on?"

She asked.

"I don't know."

He said as he caught her hand, giving her his support. Just as he did, a bright light burned out from within the door as it opened. Before they could react, both their bodies were sucked into it. As the door closed, a sense of silence filled the room, and the ominous door was the only thing left standing.

....

'What's going on?'

Xiao felt his mind muddled, his body felt painful and heavy. He tried to open his eyes, but it was much more difficult than normal. It felt as if his body was underwater, trying its best to move. Slowly but surely, his eyelids started to open. A buzzing sound filled his ears before which his brain was able to register the sights in front of him.

'What the?'

A confusing sight filled Xiao. Slowly placing his hand down, he tried to sit up, taking several moments to do so. His body still felt heavy. Placing his hands on both his sides, he slowly sat up straight. His eyes took in the sight in front of him, which was... nothing.

Literally, nothing could be seen. Everywhere he gazed upon, only the sight of grey remained. He was sitting on a blackened piece of land that wasn't that large. It was a circular piece of land, maybe about 80 meters in diameter. The whole piece of land was floating above the grey space, looking like an old piece of land forgotten in time.

"Li Lun!"

Seeing Li Lun on his side, he called out as he moved his heavy body, taking up her hand, and checking her pulse. Seeing that she was fine, Xiao sighed out loud before focusing on her face, which right now was plastered with a big smile.

'Well, as long as she's okay.'

Xiao mused as he tried to move around his body. It was then that he noticed that the dark cloak of death that he keeps in check was now surrounding him, entirely wrapping around him, as the symbol of power fused around him.

(A/N: Think of the cloak similar to the one Naruto uses when he taps into the nine-tails power, except it will have more black with red lines.)

'What's going on?'

'The power of death is protecting you from being erased.'

Unexpectedly, a reply came to his mind, making him jolt for a moment before understanding where the voice was coming from.

'Reaper?'

Xiao asked in his mind.

'The one and only.'

And the reply came. Before Xiao could ask anything else, a swirling black light blasted beside Xiao, before which a miniature hand-sized version of Death, or now using the alias Reaper, appeared beside Xiao, in its hand a miniature-sized scythe.

'What are you doing here?'

Xiao asked, to which Reaper replied,

'Well, I placed a part of my subconscious on you before sending you back.'

Reaper replied matter-of-factly, making Xiao's lips twitch.

'Why?'

He asked.

'Just wanted to see your adventures.'

Reaper replied, making Xiao silent before shaking his head, and throwing the current situation to the back of his head.

'Whatever, so why did my power suddenly move?'

Xiao asked.

'To save your life.'

'To save me?'

To Xiao's question, the hidden cloaked head of Reaper moved up and down as it replied,

'Basically, you were pulled into a cut-off dimension filled with Void Qi. Since you aren't connected to it, you should have shredded to death and died, so to protect you, the cloak moved.'

'I see.'

Calmly accepting the fact, Xiao nodded his head. He knew something like this would happen, but he had faith in his power. What is anything before the eternal end?

'Is that the reason why I feel so heavy?'

Xiao asked.

'Yes, your body still hasn't reached a level where the power of death within you can fight against a cut-off dimension.'

Reaper replied, making Xiao smile wryly. The basic translation of what Reaper spoke is that...

Xiao is weak.

That's all, nothing more and nothing less. It was then that Xiao heard a grunt at his side as Li Lun opened her sightless eyes.

"Urgh... what's happening?"

She spoke out, and to it, Xiao moved to her side as he caught her arm, slowly raising her from the ground, as she still sat.

"Don't worry, it's me. We seem to be taken somewhere."

Xiao replied, comforting the girl. Her legs were still stiff, and her eyes dead, but for the first time, Li Lun felt full of energy. She felt as if currently within her palms, she could crush everything. Meanwhile, the presence of the boy she likes now 'looked' much more clear and apparent. Every fiber of his being could be felt by her.

"Oh? An unknown variable?"

A husky yet sweet sound came from behind the two, prompting them to turn their heads. Xiao's eyes narrowed as he gazed at the figure in front of him, his heart starting to beat at her beauty. Her beauty right now surpasses anything Xiao has ever seen. He could surely say that the woman in front of him was the most beautiful woman he had ever gazed upon.

Strands of grey hair cascaded down her back like a silken waterfall, each strand whispering tales of ancient secrets. Her amethyst-colored eyes, akin to precious gems, radiated an otherworldly allure, reflecting the mysteries that dwelled within.

Her skin, a palette of pale grey, seemed to absorb and emanate the subdued glow of unseen realms. A single eye, a peculiar addition to her visage, adorned her forehead. Its iris, a captivating shade of grey, held an almost hypnotic quality, while the sclera bore the profound darkness of an abyss.

Yet, it was the two magnificent horns that crowned her head, a bold testament to her supernatural nature. Rising gracefully like dark spirals, the horns added a touch of sublime elegance to her form. Their blackness held an ancient wisdom as if they were conduits to realms beyond mortal comprehension.

The air pulsed with an energy that hinted at concealed power and unfathomable depths.

Even with her three eyes everything looked perfect about her.
