Heaven Slaying Blade

Chapter 1555: Tunnel World

It couldn't have lasted until today!

If it were like other universes, where one Great Saint Realm cultivator could devastate an entire domain, the Tunnel World would have ceased to exist countless ages ago.

Thus, at the upper reaches of the river of time, it's said that certain great powers united and worked together to impose laws upon this world.

Even the titans of the ancestral realm are suppressed by these laws upon arriving here.

On the surface, this world appears imperfect—ancestral realm titans are constrained by rules here. It might even seem more advantageous to rule their own universes freely. Yet, in reality, nearly all ancestral realm titans, despite knowing of the Tunnel World's restrictive laws, still wish to come.

Beneath the ancestral realm, endless beings pursue this world with unparalleled fervor!

Because once one steps into this world, they achieve undying and indestructible existence, condense a true divine core, and become a peerless god suppressing a myriad of universes!

And the method of entering the Tunnel appears to be only one: through the ancient battlefield.

However, after endless years of accumulation, native cultivators have also begun to emerge within the Tunnel World itself.

They are the descendants of cultivators who entered in the past, born here, and through generations of reproduction now perceive themselves as masters of the Tunnel World.

This world is boundlessly vast, and no one knows its end. Though it is called the Tunnel, every being who arrives here understands that the Tunnel is a passage connecting two universes.

Yet, it's said that even those at the Supreme Realm cannot deduce which specific path truly bridges the two universes.

"Throughout endless ages, the Tunnel World has been fraught with various crises."

The monkey clan, after being absorbed by that golden list, successfully arrived in the Tunnel World. Here, the first group of people they encountered claimed to be from the Ancient God Family, tasked with receiving the lucky ones from the ancient battlefield.

A person in charge here began explaining some details about the Tunnel to the monk and his group of fortunate beings.

This person looked young and extraordinarily beautiful! Her beauty was pristine to the point of transcendence, like a true celestial maiden without a trace of worldly dust. Her demeanor seemed gentle, devoid of arrogance. Her soft voice evoked sacred reverence, forbidding any sense of blasphemy. None could discern her true age or cultivation level.

"The first crisis has been the Tunnel's collapse risks throughout endless ages. This is no exaggeration—it's an undeniable fact! Should the Tunnel collapse, every universe it connects will likewise be annihilated. Yes, utterly obliterated. Even Supreme entities must rotate their duties to guard the Tunnel's eight directions. However, such entities are rare even within the Tunnel World,"

The woman explained gently.

"The second crisis emanates from outside the Tunnel…"

Among the monkey group, an ancestral realm titan furrowed his brows and asked bluntly, "Outside the Tunnel? Is there truly a world beyond the Tunnel?"

The woman smiled faintly and replied, "The great worlds are vast and immeasurable. Beyond the Tunnel, naturally, other worlds and creatures exist. Please, don't hastily question. Hear me out first. You may all be beings who wield dominion over your respective universes, but since you've entered the Tunnel World, you must first understand what kind of world this is. Correct?"

The ancestral titan flushed red—it had been countless ages since anyone had spoken to him in such a manner. Yet, at this moment, he couldn't muster even a shred of temper. While the woman's cultivation level remained inscrutable, the people beside her exuded an utterly ferocious aura! Any one of them was a titan-level ancestral cultivator!

The newcomers, feeling increasingly bemused, thought that ancestral realm titans should possess profound detachment and see through all worldly matters. Yet, these individuals radiated such untamed and wild energy!

The woman continued, "Suppose our Tunnel World connects numerous universes. If every true Tunnel bridges two identical universes to form a grand universe, then beyond the Tunnel, countless universes like ours also exist. Between those universes lies an area known as the Gray Land. It is a void-like world inhabited by every kind of being imaginable—ones you've encountered, heard about, and even beings you've neither encountered nor heard about. The Gray Land is inhospitable and harsh, with survival conditions exceedingly challenging. However, this environment also forges numerous powerful creatures! There, no laws exist, only destruction; no warmth, only slaughter. The creatures of that realm loathe all things beautiful! Their minds contain nothing but ruin and massacre!"

The group's expressions turned solemn.

The woman looked at them with a newfound severity in her voice: "Should those beings discover any cracks and enter our Tunnel World, they would unleash terrifying destruction and slaughter. As I mentioned, the Tunnel World itself has long been unstable, and collapse risks emerged countless ages ago. That's why supremely powerful beings joined forces to impose laws upon the Tunnel World. It's also why Supreme Realm cultivators guard its eight directions. Yet, even so, many threats still slip through the cracks. These threats are our greatest enemies and crises!"

The woman paused, glancing at the group before suddenly changing her tone: "For example, this time, there should have been fifty powerful cultivators arriving, but two are missing. According to the Investiture of the Gods records, we deduced… one of them severed his own divine core, then killed another cultivator who had achieved godhood. He committed an unforgivable crime! He entered the Azure Stone Gate without knowing that beyond it lies the Gray Land. Now, he is likely already dead."

At this revelation, many present displayed varying expressions.

Several titans from the Luotian Immortal Domain showed subtle regret. Though they had no direct connection to Chu Mo—even having never met him—this did not diminish their admiration for him.

Learning that Chu Mo severed his divine core and entered the Azure Stone Gate, only to be banished to the Gray Land, was tantamount to exile.

"Why is severing one's divine core deemed an unforgivable crime?" The monkey suddenly asked.

The woman replied gently, "To sever one's divine core means rejecting the Tunnel's call. You are all beings who dominate your respective universes; you bear both the responsibility and obligation to contribute yourselves to the Tunnel! This is the final matter I must explain to you. You are fortunate to become members of the Ancient God Family. Yet, he committed a grievous crime by slaying a member of the Ancient God Family. If that isn't a crime, then what is?"

"That reasoning doesn't hold up," the monkey retorted, his fiery golden eyes flashing with a cold gleam as he stared at the woman. "First, no one told us God Slaying wasn't allowed in the ancient battlefield; second, at the time, we didn't know about the Ancient God Family; third, even now, who agreed to become members of the Ancient God Family?"

The monkey's words struck a chord, earning mental applause from many titans who shared his sentiments.

No matter how persuasive the woman's words sounded, none of these titans were buying into them! They were beings who once ruled their own universes—why should they suddenly accept this nonsense upon entering this world? Why should they be considered members of a family they never consented to join?

Yet, the monkey's defiance sparked a flash of anger in the eyes of many by the woman's side, their wild aura betraying traces of killing intent.

The monkey, naturally perceptive, felt their hostility but remained utterly indifferent!

In his Great Saint Realm days, even titans didn't faze him. Now, as an ancestral titan himself, there were truly few beings he deemed worthy of his attention. Sensing hostility, his fiery gaze erupted with intense battle intent!

Still, out of consideration for his six sworn brothers around him, the monkey refrained from acting right away.

The woman smiled and shook her head, her voice remaining warm: "Regarding your objections—first, ignorance doesn't justify impunity; second, you might not have known then, but now you do; third, this isn't about your consent—it's about the rules!"

The monkey sneered, "Who made these rules?"

"All the Ancient Tunnel Clan jointly created these rules. Every trial has its share of rebellious ancestral cultivators like you. In the end, they all die," an icy voice interjected as an extraordinarily handsome young man emerged from the crowd.

Others parted to give him way, regarding him with expressions of reverence.

Seeing the man, the woman frowned slightly and said, "Gu Dong, what are you doing here?"

"Ha, I worried my dear sister might struggle handling this matter alone, so I came to check. Indeed… my dear sister, you're too soft. That won't do," the handsome man named Gu Dong replied coldly, fixing his gaze upon the monkey. "Don't think ancestral realm is such an extraordinary status. Open your monkey eyes and see—who here isn't at the ancestral realm?"

"So what?" The monkey sneered dismissively.

"Enough!" The woman suddenly shouted, then turned to Gu Dong and said, "This is my business. Leave immediately!"

Gu Dong revealed a toothy grin, seemingly unfazed by his sister's anger. He shrugged and said casually, "Ungrateful as ever. Fine, suit yourself. Anyway, this is your last chance. I can wait!"

With that, Gu Dong cast a meaningful glance at the Sky Patriarch's group and said ominously, "When choosing masters, pick one who can truly offer growth. Choose wrong, and you once-mighty ancestral giants will merely become a group of sacrificial pawns. Think carefully!"

"Get out!" The woman finally erupted in fury.
