Chapter 1551: Golden Heavenly Thunder
This scene utterly shook everyone who witnessed it!
Pure golden lightning!
No one had ever seen it before!
No one had ever witnessed the Heavenly Tribulation of the Supreme, either. But those present, practically all of them titanic figures, knew very well what their final Heavenly Tribulation looked like when they achieved the ancestral realm. Better than anyone!
Boom!
Over there, the monkey was struck by its final lightning bolt!
Violet-gold!
Still violet-gold!
Except this time, it was enormous!
It was as if it had transformed into a pillar holding up the cosmos itself!
Yet, its color was no different from the ancestral lightning bolt before—it remained pure violet-gold, radiating unparalleled brilliance and exuding an overwhelming breath of Creation.
But when compared to the golden lightning on the other side, it instantly felt inferior.
The monkey, however, had no mind to care at this moment. It laughed madly, raising its great iron rod, and charged directly at the final lightning bolt!
To achieve enlightenment, together with its weapon!
And in an instant, the monkey's form was engulfed entirely by the violet-gold lightning.
But in the very next moment, an overwhelming pressure erupted from where it stood!
An immense aura of the Great Dao spread across the heavens and earth, scattering through time immemorial!
The time river re-emerged around the monkey, but this time, no living creature dared to reach toward it. All of them merely watched with envy in their eyes. Their longing was almost palpable!
They… were undoubtedly the creatures who had failed to survive the ancestral Heavenly Tribulation in the time river.
They lingered in the river of time, forever etched into the fabric of history.
Ancestral Realm!
Titan!
This naturally born monkey had finally ascended… and achieved its ancestral path!
But on the other side, the pure golden lightning remained untouched!
It seemed without pressure, like a pure golden pillar standing tall within the expanse of the heavens.
Yet, all the titans felt an irresistible urge to kneel in worship!
"What is going on here?"
"The Heavenly Tribulation for this young man's ancestral ascension… produced such an anomaly! How incredible! Truly unbelievable!"
"What does this anomaly signify?"
"I've never heard of such an ancestral tribulation in all the cosmos…"
Far in the distance, titans whispered, their voices filled with unconcealed shock. They could not hide their disbelief—it was simply impossible.
Chu Mo stood within the pure golden lightning, wielding Heaven Slaying, forging it!
Refining Heaven Slaying, and refining himself!
Then, he summoned his divine instrument, the Heavenly Mirror, and sent it flying toward the monkey's direction.
In that instant, six Great Saints appeared beside the monkey.
The monkey emitted endless Great Dao energy, enveloping his six brothers within it.
After a moment, the Heavenly Mirror returned, flying back into the golden lightning, also undergoing refinement!
The Chaos Furnace was also being tempered by this trial.
"Haha, tempered by lightning… only now do I realized—I envy such fortune so greatly," Sky Patriarch's eyes flashed with a rare trace of longing as he gazed deeply toward Chu Mo within the golden lightning, his expression more profound and far-reaching than ever.
This connection was well worth it.
The thunderbolt platform on Chu Mo's left arm had been evolving continuously without pause.
The severed head of the Primordial Chaos Patriarch trapped in the Beidou star array let out a despairing wail: "Why? Why is this happening? How could someone who's cultivated for merely a hundred years… possess such fortune? Who were you in your previous life? Tell me! Who were you?!"
But his cries were sealed entirely by the Beidou star array.
The titans outside had no way of hearing them. Otherwise, they might have been so shocked that they wished for death!
A hundred years of cultivation… merely a hundred years? How was that possible?
Finally, Chu Mo felt his left arm undergo its ultimate transformation as he let out an angry roar within the golden lightning.
And then, using his left arm, he struck a blow straight at the severed head of the Primordial Chaos Patriarch within the Beidou star formation.
Bang!
The Primordial Chaos Patriarch's head violently exploded!
Blood of a titan, brain matter of a titan, bones of a titan… everything burst forth within the Beidou star formation.
It created a massive rift in the cosmic void.
And then, it completely vanished into nothingness!
A titan that had lived for three million years as an ancestral cultivator.
His life had come to an abrupt end, his path utterly destroyed!
No one knew whether he might return someday. No one was capable of calculating such possibilities. But at this moment, he was dead.
The entire Beidou star formation shot into the golden lightning.
By now, the monkey had already whisked his six brothers off to safety. He looked at the distant golden lightning—visible from any distance—his expression awestruck as he cursed, "What kind of freak is this?"
"Fellow Daoist has a point," said a titan from another direction, smiling warmly at the monkey.
"A fellow Daoist…" The monkey's eyes suddenly watered. Deep inside, he thought: Am I no longer the wild monkey?
"Congratulations, Fellow Daoist!"
"Congratulations, Fellow Daoist!"
Several divine thoughts echoed from other directions, all brimming with goodwill.
The monkey knew that he had achieved enlightenment. He had ascended to the ancestral realm!
From this moment, his path was now open wide. Although not necessarily smooth from hereon, at the very least... he had truly entered this domain, becoming one of them.
And so, he laughed heartily: "Thank you, Fellow Daoists!"
The other six Great Saints didn't offer any formal congratulations or pleasantries; such words were unnecessary between brothers. However, their gazes revealed a mix of envy and slight dejection.
The monkey said solemnly, "We seven brothers are united. It's me today; tomorrow, it will be you!"
All six nodded. The ancestral realm… who wouldn't desire it?
Far away, the golden lightning slowly began to fade.
Chu Mo stood amidst the lightning, his figure exuding no aura of dominance. Yet somehow, even the monkey—who had just ascended to the ancestral realm—still felt that Chu Mo was akin to an invincible king!
Yes, a king among titans!
The six Great Saints felt this even more intensely!
Cat Great Saint murmured, "Meow, why do I feel like kneeling to that kid right now?"
"I feel it too," Snowy Sea Dragon Great Saint said.
"Same here," Bull Demon Great Saint added.
"It's universal…" Kun Fish Great Saint said with a bitter smile. "That kid truly is a freak!"
Similar sentiments arose in the hearts of all other titans.
When the golden lightning ultimately dissipated and Chu Mo's figure emerged within their sight, the ancient battlefield's ranking list within the spiritual seas of all living beings changed dramatically.
Chu Mo's name soared to first place!
Both Patriarch Canglan and Patriarch Jiu Lie—who had escaped long ago—froze in place, stunned. And then… they both spat out a mouthful of blood! Their Dao injuries worsened!
Dominance!
This was Chu Mo's dominance!
Because of their karmic entanglement, even within this ancient battlefield, they hadn't entirely escaped.
Chu Mo's overwhelming presence alone was enough to aggravate their Dao injuries!
"It's over!" Patriarch Canglan's face turned pale. Since achieving the ancestral realm, he had never experienced such despair. He was a titan of the ancestral path! A truly top-tier existence capable of traversing the universe with impunity! His heart had never wavered.
No one had been able to shake his Dao heart!
But now, his Dao heart was shaken. The beliefs he had held to be unassailable were gradually eroding. Things once within easy reach, even dismissable, suddenly felt impossibly distant, as though he would never approach them again in his lifetime.
Patriarch Canglan was utterly petrified!
He knew what was happening!
His cultivation… was declining!
"No… this can't be happening! It shouldn't be happening! My Dao is steadfast and unyielding! No one can shake my Dao heart!"
"Impossible!"
Spurt…!
Patriarch Canglan spat another mouthful of blood. This blood contained countless aspects of his Dao.
In desperation, he reached out, refined the blood into a blood pill, and swallowed it back down. Yet, almost immediately, more blood filled with his essence poured out of his mouth uncontrollably. No matter how he suppressed it, he couldn't stop it!
In an instant, his cultivation plummeted to the Great Saint Realm!
Elsewhere, Patriarch Jiu Lie faced an almost identical plight!
The titan similarly plagued by the karmic entanglement of his injuries saw his cultivation teeter on the edge of falling from the ancestral realm. It barely clung to stability, precariously.
To save himself, he frantically swallowed every last heavenly treasure he had!
He devoured all the treasures on his person and rapidly refined them!
At last, he managed to stabilize his realm, barely clinging to the edge of the ancestral path. His injuries, however, worsened—now a lingering threat of collapse hovered over him.
Turning to Patriarch Canglan, Jiu Lie locked his gaze.
The now-declined Patriarch Canglan sensed the impending danger. He looked at Jiu Lie without much fear; instead, a sense of calm washed over him. With the fall of his cultivation, the karmic injuries afflicting him for countless years had completely vanished!
"Jiu Lie, killing me won't mean much to you, right?" Patriarch Canglan said, releasing a tool and sending it toward Jiu Lie. He spoke gravely, "This holds all my resources—my life's accumulation. Now, it's yours."
A hint of guilt flickered in Jiu Lie's eyes, but only for a moment. He reached out, seized the dharma instrument, and said, "I won't kill you…"
Patriarch Canglan bowed deeply toward Jiu Lie. "Thank you, Jiu Lie, Fellow Daoist!"
But in the blink of an eye, Jiu Lie struck. His light cleaved Patriarch Canglan's head clean off.
"Borrowing your head!" Jiu Lie said.
"You…" Patriarch Canglan's expression turned to utter despair, preparing to self-destruct, only to have his head immediately sealed.
"Apologies, Fellow Daoist. I won't kill you, but I can't let you go either. I hope your head can satisfy Young Master Chu and spare me the consequences," Jiu Lie said, tossing Canglan's severed head into his space instrument.
