Chapter 17: Journey
Ayaan and Rebecca walked out of the room. Many servants were present there, but when they turned towards Ayaan, a chill ran down in their bodies. In the right hand of Ayaan was the head of Oriel, which was dripping with blood.
Whoever saw the head in his hand took a few steps away in fear. Ayaan just smiled at there behavior without bothering to say anything to these minor people.
Ayaan and Rebecca didn't go to inform Darren about anything and walked towards the city exit.
Darren was sitting on the chair in his study room when the knocking sound on his door resounded.
'Knock~ knock~.'
He looked at the gate before stating, "Come in."
A servant entered the study room with a lowered head and reported, "My Lord, the lady Rebecca and that boy went towards the city exit."
A deep frown appeared on his face when he heard a servant. He wasn't that strong, but he wasn't a stupid person. Darren knew there would be more powerful enemies arriving in the city, but if they lose their last hope Rebecca, who was the only one who had the strength to fight with those demons, no one will be able to survive in the city.
He didn't know that Rebecca lost her all magic power or that it might be even worse for Ayaan and Rebecca because Darren wasn't the person who will sacrifice his life for the sake of a fake niece.
Darren always wondered about the origin of this girl but never dared to ask her because of her strength. He had just given her a place to stay, and she helped him gain control over the city from the shadows.
"What are your orders, my lord?" The servant who was waiting at the side spoke.
"Just send two people to find their destination, but don't do anything stupid if more enemies come, we will just tell them their location," Darren replied after thinking for some time.
"The City Lord is as wise as ever."The servant immediately praised him.
After a servant left the room, a worried expression appeared on Darren's face before murmuring, "I hope everything will go according to the plan."
Errol's mansion was also in commotion after hearing the news about the departure of Rebecca and as well sent people to follow their trails.
When everything was in a mess in the city, and everyone was playing their cards, Rebecca and Ayaan arrived at the exit gate of the town.
As guards saw the faces of the two people, a fearful look emerged on their faces. They were repairing the walls of the city, which were destroyed in the fight previously.
Both Rebecca and Ayaan didn't pay any attention to anyone present and continued their journey.
After walking more than two miles, Ayaan thought something and opened the magic library. He still didn't have any spell of death element, and mage without spell was like an ordinary person. His body was more substantial than humans because he was a demon, but if he were to encounter a mage, he wouldn't be able to take a single direct hit.
As he opened the magic library, many categories appeared.
1: Spells
2: Runes
3: Magic weapons and gadgets
4: Magic Arts

.
Without glancing on other options, he opened the spell category.
After that, he chose the death element, and many spells compatible with the death element appeared.
He browsed them one by one. His eyes landed on the spell named, 'Mind corrupter.' It was a spell capable of eroding the mind of a person and turn anyone into his slave.
Ayaan's eyes shinned with anticipation when he saw the spell's details, but as the requirement for casting the spell appeared, All the excitement disappeared from his face.
The spell was sky rank, and only great mages had the requirement to cast the spell. If any lower mage were to try to cast the spell, he would invite only death. Spells of death element weren't easy to cast, one mistake, and you will turn into a mummy devoured by your spell.
Ayaan didn't have any option but to move to another spell. After searching for ten more minutes, he found a spell that suited him. The name of the spell was 'death eye.' According to the description, after practicing this spell, the spell could kill anyone with lower magic power in a single glance and heavily injured the soul of those who was powerful than him if he was able to catch them off guard.
The spell was in parts. It was divided based on realms of mages. Ayaan was a junior mage, so he purchased a portion of novice mage and a junior mage with 50 credits.
After purchasing the spell, a scroll appeared in his hand, containing two parts of the spell.
Rebecca, who was walking side by side him became curious when she saw the scroll in his hand and asked him curiously, "What is this scroll?"
"Oh, it's just a low-class spell scroll." He replied casually.
She looked at him with a strange gaze and asked, "Do you know the value of a low-class spell scroll?"
Ayaan turned to look at her when he heard her before asking curiously, "What do you mean?"
Rebecca chuckled when she heard him, "Do you think all the spell people in the city were using is their own?"
Ayaan nodded with a confused expression. Rebecca saw him nodding and shrugged before replying, "No, you are wrong. The king of this kingdom gave every spell to these people, and every ordinary citizen can only practice a single spell if they were to found practicing the second spell they will receive severe punishments."
Ayaan didn't know what to think because, at one side king seems kind who gave a spell to all the people of his kingdom, but on the other hand, he forbade them to use a second spell. What does he want to do?
Rebecca saw the confused expression and chuckled before explaining, "Do you think it's strange?"
Ayaan nodded while Rebecca asked another question, which bewildered him, "What do you think will the king do if other kingdoms were to attack his kingdom?"
He thought for sometime before replying, "He will need lots of soldiers when the war comes, and at that time, he will recruit these ordinary people as his cannon fodders."
"Correct," she smiled and continued, "So, the king isn't kind, but he is just securing his future, but at the same time, he doesn't want to give these ordinary people much power because he fears rebellion."
"What a cunning man." Ayaan murmured.
"Yes, he is cunning, so you need to be careful when you use this spell and never let anyone see this scroll, the value of magic scrolls is far above what you expect," Rebecca explained the severity of the situation, after understanding, Ayaan nodded and continued to read his new spell.
Two days passed in the blink. Now, Ayaan knew where they were going and where he was. They were going to the capital of the Caspian kingdom, Izhale. And the country was in the Eastern region of the world Aemmugar.
Ayaan was shocked after knowing how vast this world was; even six-seven earth won't be able to compare this world.
After walking for two days, they were already halfway through to Izhale. As they were talking to each other, Ayaan's brows twitched, and he looked behind them. An evil smirk appeared on his face.
"Are you going to follow us wherever we go? Why don't you walk with us if you are going in the same direction."
