It started with a totally out-of-nowhere guild war declaration from EveningGlow.

TL;DR: This was all probs guild posturing over next month’s preliminaries. EveningGlow and OneHeartOneWill are both eyeing the newbie. But like—can OneHeartOneWill even fight EveningGlow? They’re not even in the same weight class lol
Rumor has it even OneHeartOneWill booted the newbie now, but I haven’t confirmed it. Still, the fact that they let it get this bad… yikes.

I picked up the tray of burgers and fries from the counter and headed upstairs. Kim Daeseok, already seated, whistled as he dumped the fries all over the tray.
“I’m treating you for the first time in forever and all you want is burgers? We should’ve gone for steak or something.”
“Burgers are enough.”
I peeled open the wrapper and took a bite. The salty sauce and meat patty filled my mouth with flavor.
“Still feel kinda bad though.”
“There’s nothing to feel bad about. It wasn’t even your fault.”
Because of the guild war that EveningGlow stirred up yesterday, I ended up leaving
Even while kicking me out, WoonYoom looked sincerely sorry. He even sent a friend request, telling me to hit him up anytime I needed help. He’s a good guy, seriously.
‘Unlike that piece of shit Yoo Chae…’
Just thinking about his server messages made me sigh. I paused mid-bite, letting out another sigh, and Daeseok, sensing the mood, cautiously asked,
“Hey, are you really okay?”
“What’s not okay?”
“I mean, it’s fucked, right? What are you gonna do about a guild now?”
“Gotta give up.”
You needed a guild to run raid quests efficiently and hit level cap fast, but it wasn’t like I couldn’t hit level cap solo. It’d just take longer... but whatever.
“Even quitting your guild isn’t gonna stop this. Did you see that link I sent earlier? Your name got blasted on the forum.”
“Yeah, I saw.”
Didn’t really hit me though. The comments knew who was actually being a scumbag, so it didn’t feel unfair.
Seeing how indifferent I was, Daeseok just shook his head and shoved the burger into his mouth like it owed him money. Less than two minutes later, the thing was gone, and he reached for the fries.
“There’ll be a shit ton of people trying to start shit. Wouldn’t it be better to just make a new account?”
“If I was gonna do that, I’d quit altogether. No way I’m throwing away the hell I went through the past ten days.”
“Fair. Still impressive you hit level 200 in just ten days.”
“If anyone’s quitting, it should be the asshole who caused all this. Anyway, enough bullshit—just eat.”
Smacking his lips, Daeseok quietly stuffed fries into his mouth. Back in high school, he played in the regional basketball league. Dude’s huge—his appetite matched.
I finished my burger too, sipping cola through the straw, and started thinking. Make a new account, huh? Just thinking about it made my chest tighten.
Throwing away the ten grueling days I spent getting to level 200? That’s pure hell. More than anything, I didn’t do anything wrong. Why should I run away? My pride wouldn’t allow it.
‘Even if a few trolls target my nickname, it won’t last long.’
Sooner or later, something else will blow up and bury this. That’s how it always goes.
After parting ways with Daeseok, I went home, showered, and powered on my computer. I clicked the Zenoris icon, and the loading screen popped up before showing my character standing idle.
“A new account, huh…”
While eating earlier, I’d been dead set against rerolling—but now that I was staring at the login screen, I hesitated.
A fresh account where no one would bother me, just grinding solo at my own pace? Sure, sounds nice. But I couldn’t deny how attached I still was to I’mSoSleepy.
It was my first RPG character in ages, and I’d put real heart into building him. The thought of quitting because of some bullshit drama just felt… tragic.
“Haa…”
Pressing my tired eyes with my palms, I debated with myself—then clicked “Start Game,” not “Log Out.”
Yeah, screw it. I’ll do what I want. Now that it’s come to this, I’m gonna hit level cap fast and beat the shit out of every annoying prick I meet.
Since I’d logged out right after quitting the guild yesterday, my character spawned in Central City. I closed all the pop-up event banners and reward messages, then checked the chat.

Thankfully, no one recognized me or brought up yesterday. No one started shit.
Which made sense. Most users probably just laughed and moved on, and only a few ever read the forum anyway.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I opened my inventory. I needed to move to a combat zone before anyone noticed. I tore a teleport scroll and arrived in the Southern Volcano Region.
The entrance to the Red Dragon raid zone was packed with players. I was heading toward the glowing red rocks to queue up when it happened.

Ding, ding! Bright cheerful message tones popped up—messages from the last person I ever expected. Horrified, I quickly opened my friends list, and there it was: the nickname
My brow furrowed.
“…The fuck is this?”
Why the fuck is that bastard on my friends list?
