He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact

Chapter 253. Wait

Kailen quickly poured the contents of the elixir into the mouth of his "patient."

Several seconds later, he started squirming and screaming on the bed.

Professor Ross screamed in anger and panic upon noticing his son squirming on the bed and foaming at the mouth.

"Arnold…" His figure flashed as he appeared before his son, touching his face with a worried expression.

He turned to look at Kailen in anger. "What did you do to him?"

Kailen didn't feel threatened by his anger, despite the overwhelming difference in strength between him and the professor. Calmly, he explained,

"Due to the backlashes he has suffered in the past, the universe energy pathways in his body were damaged almost to the point where he nearly became crippled.

The elixir I fed him is not only enhancing his Talent to the galactic level, it's repairing his universe energy pathways. Due to this, he's experiencing agonizing pain. That's all there is to it. There's no need to worry about any—"

Before Kailen could even finish speaking, Arnold stopped twitching and screaming on the bed.

His voice resounded in the room with renewed vigor. "Dad, I feel better. I feel strong, and better than I've ever felt before. I don't feel weak anymore."

Under the amazed and happy gazes of his cousin and father, Arnold continued, "I need to break through to the galactic level. Please leave me be for some days."

With that, he stood up from the bed.

His father stared at him with tears of joy in his eyes.

How long had he waited for this day?

His son used to be one of the famous prodigies across the empire some years back. However, he experienced several backlashes no matter his attempts at breaking through to the galactic level, leaving him bedridden and weak—unable to even speak well or walk.

Yet, he was currently walking.

His voice… it seemed fine, renewed with warmth and strength his father had not seen in a very long time.

He turned to look at Kailen, his gaze full of admiration and other complicated emotions.

Kailen, however, simply said, "I suppose I will see the notification for completing this mission very soon."

With that, Kailen disappeared into his room using Umbral Replacement.

The shadow hound that had appeared in the room— with the demihumans staring dumbstruck at the spot where Kailen used to be—was summoned into the shadow expanse.

"He really healed me. Who is he?" Arnold asked his father, completely full of gratitude towards Kailen.

Moreover, the look the young man had given him before feeding him the elixir… it was the look of someone who didn't just empathize with him, but had been through a similar experience before.

He really wanted to meet the unknown stranger and not only express his gratitude but also befriend him.

"Cousin Arnold."

"Henrita."

Henrita jumped into Arnold's arms.

"I'm so happy you're okay now. I can't believe he actually managed to help you recover," she said with her face buried in his chest. Her tears were literally soaking his clothes.

"I'm happy to see you too, little Henrita."

He hugged her back warmly with a genuine smile, then asked, "Who is that young man?"

Ross, also extremely curious about who Kailen was, listened as Henrita began to speak.

Since she had insisted he be given a chance to help Arnold, it meant she had seen something that warranted faith in him.

In the past, she would always attempt to get rid of anyone who tried to come to the house to complete the mission, because Ross had told her to do so. However, for some reason, she had allowed Kailen into the house—going as far as saying he should be given a chance to help Arnold.

Ross figured, therefore, that she knew more about the strange, cold young man.

Having noticed the curious gazes and attentive ears of the two men, she told them about what Kailen had accomplished since coming into the empire—the entrance exams, and even the insane commotion he had caused after enrolling in the academy.

Quickly, they found videos of his feats online and watched them to get a clear picture of what she had just narrated.

The two men sighed at the same time, each with expressions of shock on their faces.

They had seen their fair share of geniuses, but this was on another level. This young man was a monster—accomplishing all of this at seventeen years old?

"I should really spend more time getting informed about the happenings around me," Ross said, scratching his chin.

"You literally spent your whole life sitting by me. Can't blame you for not having a life, old man," Arnold replied, patting his father on the shoulder.

"Hehe, fair point," Ross nodded, then added, "We have to find the young man later and thank him though."

Arnold nodded as well. Ross continued, noticing the complicated expression on Henrita's face all of a sudden—though he chose to not dwell much on it.

" I should really find him and apologize to him. Can't have uncle find out I offended him. He will be pretty mad at me for that" Henrita thought .

"Henrita, let's leave your cousin to cultivate and break through to the galactic level."

" Sure"

With that, Henrita and Ross left, leaving Arnold alone to cultivate.

Ross was in an extremely good mood.

He headed towards the kitchen with Henrita to prepare some food—a special meal tonight to celebrate his son's recovery.

"Uncle, I have to head back to my villa," Henrita pouted.

"Stay and eat first. Besides, what are you even going to do in that villa, snuggle up to that boyfriend of yours?"

"You—" She didn't even know how to respond. This old man was always getting under her skin.

Ignoring their playful banter outside the room, Arnold shook his head with a smile, then assumed a focused demeanor.

It was time to break through to the galactic level.

Kailen appeared in his bedroom, slumping on the bed.

"Now, we wait for the notification. Let's check campus media to see what's happening."
