Chapter 61: Chapter 61: Gift from Senior

ShareMore than a week had passed in the blink of an eye since I brought Nagini with me.

During this time, Levitra had once asked Nagini if she wanted to meet Aurelius.

But for some reason, her answer was always the same—no.

It seemed as though Nagini had no intention of seeing Aurelius again.

During this period, Robert was certainly not idle.

In addition to refining his spells and improving his transfiguration abilities, he had been focusing on his ancient magic.

Just as Dumbledore had expected, the more he used ancient magic, the more he could feel its growth.

Every time he extended Nagini's transformation, Robert could sense his own progress.

Although his power did not increase as quickly as it would by directly absorbing ancient magic, he was still making steady advancements.

It could be said that, apart from being unable to contact his senior and the fact that the system mall still hadn't refreshed with any valuable items, everything else had gone rather smoothly.

Yes, after discovering that her name had disappeared, his senior had vanished for more than a week...

Of course, although Robert couldn't contact her in his dreams at night, he continued to use nightmare magic to enter dreams, which led to significant improvements in his abilities.

He wasn't sure whether it was due to the awakening of his ancient magic, but the progress of his nightmare magic had accelerated as well.

Before he knew it, the London neighborhood he simulated in his dream had expanded, now including another alley.

Robert speculated that nightmare magic might have been based on ancient magic.

That would explain why members of the Somleno family found it so difficult to learn.

A Dream Meeting

That night, Robert once again used nightmare magic to enter the dream world.

As usual, he shaped his dream into a garden and called out to his senior a few times.

After waiting for a long time with no response, he assumed she wouldn't appear tonight either.

Just as he was about to shift his dream and focus on practicing his nightmare magic, a black figure materialized in the pavilion.

"Senior? You finally showed up!" Robert looked at the shadowy figure, surrounded by a dark mist, with a hint of surprise.

"I'm sorry... I've been using nightmare magic to search for my name this entire time. When I woke up from the dream, more than a week had passed..." Her tone was low, disappointment evident in her voice.

It was clear that she hadn't found the answer she was looking for.

"I asked Professor Dumbledore about your name..." Robert hesitated for a moment before continuing. "You don't seem curious about the answer at all?"

"Well... that's because I already know." She sighed. "While using nightmare magic to observe, I accidentally saw Professor Dumbledore discussing something about me with the current headmaster of Hogwarts… The result was just as I expected. My name has disappeared."

Robert frowned. "If that's the case, do you have any suspects? The person who used this magic on you?"

"No," she shook her head. "However, while sorting through my past experiences, I did find a clue."

"What is it?" Robert asked curiously.

"It might have something to do with my nightmare magic..." She exhaled slowly. "You know how bored I've been all these years, so after creating nightmare magic, I used it to let my consciousness travel freely within dreams, wandering the world."

"Sometimes, I would communicate with wizards in their dreams and learn a lot from them. Of course, to them, it was just a strange dream."

"Other times, I would simply drift through the scenery within my observation range…"

There was a hint of nostalgia in her voice.

"Then, one night, while floating above London, wondering where to go, I suddenly woke up. And the strangest part? When I woke up, it was already daytime!"

Robert was surprised. "You lost an entire night's memory?"

"To be precise… a portion of my consciousness, carried by nightmare magic, vanished along with the magic itself. It disappeared so suddenly that it didn't even have time to send any information back." Her voice carried an undertone of confusion.

"Moreover, I could feel that the power of that nightmare magic had completely vanished! And for some reason, I didn't question it at the time. It felt completely natural, just like how I find it natural that I have no name…"

She fell silent for a moment.

"Thinking about it now, that was probably when someone did something to me…"

"But I can't figure out what kind of magic they used."

"For the past week, I've gone back to the place where my memory disappeared, but… I found nothing."

She sighed. "In any case… if someone could do this to me so easily, it means they are terrifyingly powerful. So, for your own safety, you and Professor Dumbledore should stay out of this matter."

Robert didn't respond to that, but instead asked, "Senior, how large is the range of your nightmare magic?"

"It's not very large. I can only observe the whole of Britain, at best. The farther someone is from me, the weaker my consciousness becomes, and the less I can influence things. But given my current condition, my body cannot move, and I don't have much magic left to use. I can't even tap into the power of ancient magic."

Robert was shocked.

Even with such limited magic, she could still extend her dream consciousness across all of Britain?

It was hard to imagine how terrifying her nightmare magic would be if she were free.

"Why do you ask?" she questioned.

Robert hesitated for a moment. "I was thinking… Could it be that your consciousness saw something it shouldn't have, and that's why—"

"I understand what you're implying," she interrupted. "I think so too. But like I said, this is my own problem. For your safety, you should stay out of it."

She suddenly looked around at the dream world, then said, "Your nightmare magic has improved so much in such a short time… Could it be that you've awakened the power of ancient magic?"

Robert nodded and explained how he had accidentally absorbed the bottled sample.

"So, you've already experienced the allure of ancient magic. Tell me… have you changed your mind?" A hint of amusement flickered in her eyes.

"...Ancient magic is indeed tempting, but… I still don't want to become a slave to power." Robert shook his head.

"That's a wise mindset. After all, I'm a bad example for you." She sighed.

Robert said, "But since I've awakened ancient magic, I have to study it. Professor Dumbledore supports this."

"If you have Dumbledore to guide you, that's a good thing. With proper guidance, you won't go astray like I did… If my teacher hadn't had an accident, maybe I wouldn't have either…" There was a trace of sorrow in her voice.

"Professor Figo?" Robert asked tentatively.

"Yes." She nodded, unsurprised that Robert knew her teacher's name.

After all, people still remembered her deeds, even if they had forgotten her name.

"Well, since you have support and plan to study ancient magic… I have a gift for you." Her gaze deepened.

"When my ambitions were at their peak, I left something behind at Hogwarts… I think it will suit you perfectly."
