Harry Potter: The Rise Of Malfoy

Chapter 74: CChapter 74 Finalizing the trial

Chapter 74

Soren exhibited the qualities of an exceptional student and, thanks to Baruffio's brain elixir, had even greater mental strength, memory, and understanding. He strongly suspected that his IQ had reached significantly high levels. Without a doubt, he once again secured the top position in his entire grade.

(Note: The top 5 students this semester are: Soren, Meredith, Moray, Hermione, Daphne)

Due to Soren's remarkable academic achievements and Draco's impressive performance on the field, Slytherin accumulated a substantial number of points thanks to the brilliance of the two brothers, winning the House Cup once more!

After the House Cup was presented, before the little snakes could rejoice, Slytherin received another piece of good news—Soren was honored with the "Special Contribution Award to the School" for bringing prestige to Hogwarts in the international academic arena this semester!

This is the highest accolade a student can earn at Hogwarts, and it is said that the last time this award was given was over fifty years ago. This award holds particular importance for students; nearly every recipient of this award later became a prefect, indicating that Soren has effectively been earmarked as the next prefect.

Additionally, the names of the award recipients are inscribed in the Hogwarts Hall of Fame and recorded in the history of Hogwarts, immortalized like the heads of Hogwarts throughout the ages.

In today's wizarding world of Britain, while people may not recall the names of all past Ministers of Magic, they will certainly remember the names of all Hogwarts headmasters from the last thousand years—..., Dervent, Everla, Foscot, Moore, Black, Depet, Dumbledore. Each of them was a great wizard, and their achievements are eternally celebrated.

This established an exceptionally strong reputation for the Malfoy brothers within Slytherin.

In the coming year, the current Quidditch captain, Marcus Flint, will graduate, and Draco has already been informed by Professor Snape that he will be the next captain!

Although Draco was very pleased with this news, Soren was aware that next year's Quidditch matches would be suspended for a year due to the Triwizard Tournament, meaning Draco would likely have to wait until his fifth year to take on the captaincy.

During the last three weeks of this semester, Soren was extremely busy.

First, he aimed to take advantage of Sirius hiding in Hogwarts to recover and have Dobby Apparate him to Number 12 Grimmauld Place. According to Dumbledore, the dark magic that affected Sirius and Lupin was a strange form of dark magic that had the ability to consume magical power, and even Dumbledore couldn't break it directly. Thus, the two could only remain hidden and rest for at least three months to fully recuperate.

Soren arrived at the Black family mansion, found a reason to send Kreacher away, and then successfully accessed the secret room of the Black family mansion using a method he learned from Sirius.

The secret room of the Black family mansion was quite similar in size and layout to the secret room of Malfoy Manor. Soren went to the corner where the dark magic books were kept, and without hesitation, he gathered all the books and took them.

At the same time, he also retrieved a mask emitting magical fluctuations from the secret room. This mask resembled the Mask of Pain, but the magical fluctuations it emitted were significantly stronger than those of the Mask of Pain.

[Unnamed Mask Obtained!]

[Dark Magic Books Privately Held by the Black Family Obtained!]

After sealing the secret room, Soren made sure to visit the art room on the second floor to collect the Slytherin pendant box, as Sirius would soon return here to hide, and the future headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix would also be established here. Soren estimated that he might not have another chance to return.

Soren placed all the items into his suitcase space and then left with Dobby through Apparition.

[Slytherin Pendant Box Obtained!]

After leaving the Black family estate, Soren quickly entered Ravenclaw's secret chamber.

Soren had long been prepared and took advantage of the end of the semester to complete Ravenclaw's trial before having to leave the school.

He retrieved the Black family's ancestral spell and reviewed it carefully.

The Black family's ancestral spell was focused on soul magic, and he discovered a spell that could be useful at this moment—the "Soul Binding Torture Spell." This spell inflicted torment and pain directly on the soul, akin to being burned by intense flames, but it caused no harm to the physical body.

Soren pointed his wand at the crown of Ravenclaw and cast the Soul Binding Torture Spell. Immediately, horrifying screams echoed from the crown, long and mournful, seemingly endless.

Soren did not dare to relax for a moment; he understood this was a battle of wills between him and Voldemort's remnant soul, determining whether Voldemort's remnant could endure the pain longer or if Soren would exhaust his magic and give up first. It could only be said that Voldemort was indeed formidable; after torturing the remnant soul with the spell for half an hour, it still persisted.

However, how could a remnant soul that could only defend itself passively possibly surpass Soren, who held the initiative in attack? Although Soren had drained his magic, being cautious, he had prepared a backup plan. He took out a magic recovery potion from his pocket and drank the entire vial, then continued to torment Voldemort's remnant soul.

Another half hour passed, and finally, Voldemort's remnant soul was forced out from the surface of the crown, forming a dim sphere of light. Seizing the moment, Soren quickly drew a pure silver dagger from his sleeve and stabbed fiercely at the sphere. With a loud pop, the sphere transformed into a terrifying face-shaped mist, emitting a reluctant howl before dissipating.

After a brief rest, Soren drank another potion for magic recovery and similarly dealt with the remnant soul on the Slytherin locket.

At this moment, after expelling Voldemort's remnant soul, the two artifacts returned to their original form, emitting faint waves of magical energy.

Soren first stored the Slytherin locket, then inscribed a very complex magic circle on the floor of the chamber. He placed the crown in the center of the magic circle, then recited a lengthy and intricate incantation. His wand emitted a burst of white light that illuminated the entire magic circle, and various small objects hanging from the ceiling of the chamber seemed to respond to some kind of pull, each radiating brilliant colors.

As the crown of Ravenclaw was enveloped in these colors, an ancient chant resonating with sacred purity echoed in the void. The magical fluctuations on the crown suddenly became very active, and Soren even felt a faint sense of oppression from it.

The phantom of Aquila hurriedly flew out, incredulously saying, "Incredible, truly incredible! How long has it been since the chamber opened, and you've already completed the trial? I'm utterly surprised."

Upon hearing Aquila's words, Soren realized that he had successfully activated Ravenclaw's crown and passed the trial.

He eagerly placed the crown on his head, and his already formidable mental strength received a significant enhancement. Soren closed his eyes and carefully sensed the changes in his mind.

Soren felt his consciousness expanding outward as if it were materializing. This process continued until his materialized spirit encountered an invisible barrier. At that moment, the crown above his head burst forth with a strong light, and Soren's mind was intensely stimulated, breaking through that barrier in one breath.

It was as if a light sound of an eggshell cracking echoed in the void. Soren's spirit seemed to break free from the limitations of the human body, erupting outward and soaring freely. At that moment, Soren felt as if he were experiencing the legendary separation of soul and body, his consciousness detached from his body, joyfully wandering in the chamber. It was an indescribable sensation; he felt as if he had merged with his surroundings, and everything around him was within his perception.

Aquila's voice seemed to come from a distance: "Incredible, truly unbelievable!"

Aquila's voice gradually grew clearer: "Kid, the crown contains the crystallized wisdom of Ravenclaw's consciousness, which she condensed through special means before her death. It can significantly enhance a wizard's mental strength; and you, lucky kid, somehow cultivated a fortune—your mental strength level was already close to the human limit before absorbing the wisdom crystal, touching upon the mental shackles!"

Soren naturally understood that this was because he had activated the latent bloodline power within him, unlocking the Eye of Magic and also bringing forth a mental strength far beyond that of ordinary people. After the Easter holiday, he had taken the Baruffio's brain elixir, so it was not surprising that his mental strength had reached its peak.

Aquila continued, "With the help of the Crystal of Wisdom, you have broken through that layer of mental shackles... Kid, you may not even realize what this represents... You should be able to feel the sensation of mental energy being projected outward now, right? Throughout history, there have been very few who could project their mental energy, and they are all the strongest of the current era... You are truly lucky..."

Soren suddenly opened his eyes, and a flash of brilliance, like lightning on a rainy night, illuminated the entire secret chamber at the moment he opened them. Everything in the chamber was laid bare before his eyes, even every speck of dust in the corners was clearly visible.

The power of the Eye of Magic erupted suddenly, and Soren felt a sharp pain in his eyes. Aquila clearly saw Soren's pupils shifting between four colors: orange-red, emerald green, deep blue, and milky white. When they turned orange-red, a faint ancient demonic symbol appeared, leaving him momentarily speechless in astonishment.

Feeling the change in his mental energy, Soren calmly asked, "Aquila, are you talking about an enhancement in perception?"

Aquila displayed a complex expression and replied to Soren, "Perception is just one aspect. As long as you practice diligently, you can master the ancient Ravenclaw's ultimate technique—Divine Insight!"

Aquila elaborated on the principles and practice methods of Divine Insight, which involved using high-frequency mental energy for broad observation, encompassing everything around him and being able to intuitively predict an opponent's moves based on their actions.

Soren carefully contemplated everything Aquila had said. If what Aquila stated was accurate, this was a tremendous gain; Divine Insight was a significant advantage in group battles!

[Ravenclaw Exclusive Technique—Divine Insight Acquired!]

Then Aquila lowered his head, his tone solemn and sacred, and declared, "Candidate, by the name of Ravenclaw, you have been officially recognized as Ravenclaw's heir. From today onward, I and this secret chamber will belong to you, following you for life, until the arrival of death."

After saying this, Aquila's phantom circled above Soren's head and transformed into a beam of light that shot into the back of Soren's neck, where a black eagle mark with spread wings appeared on his skin, resembling a vivid tattoo.

Soren heard Aquila's voice in his mind, "Master, I will exist in accordance with your magic. Whenever you need me, whether for research or in battle, just a thought can summon me. However, I must remind you, even though you are already the heir of Ravenclaw, it would be best for you to read all the books in the secret chamber. When you complete this task, I will reward you with a tremendous secret..."

["Summoned Beast" Aquila Acquired!]

Soren learned from Aquila that from now on, the Ravenclaw eagle-shaped door ring could still operate according to the preset model of the activation spell, but without Aquila as the magical core, the door ring lost the ability to update its riddle database, resulting in a higher probability of riddle repetition.
