Chapter 2
After three whole days, both Lucifer and Maze were standing at the balcony looking at the bright blue sky where they were both passing their time to meet this Professor.
They both were sceptical if she will be able to locate their new location.
At ten'o clock, Jacky their staff boy came into the room informing them about some visitors who wants to meet Mr Lucifer Morningstar.
Both looked at each other and decided to start the show. They both moved down down the stairs and give permission to the security guard to allow them in the pub.
Professor McGonagall walked inside this luxurious building where bar strippers and staff members were cleaning the pub and looked around dumbfounded as she had never seen anything like this. A small bushy haired girl was trailing behind the professor with red face full of embarrassment as she had never visited any place like this in her entire life.
Maze finally saw the dumbfounded expression of Professor and called out "Oh, hello Again professor. Just wondering when you will arrive. It's not that we are totally expecting that you won't be able to find us again at all"
The professor finally replied "We have many ways to locate the person with magical abilities. But it's still a surprise. If you don't mind me asking....What is this place?"
"Um, it's a pub obviously" said Maze like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
McGonagall looked like she wanted to ask for further explanation but ignored it "Good Morning, Mr. Morningstar, this is Hermione Granger, you are a few days older than her so I thought I would take you both at the same time."
'Oh, I am definitely older than her' - Lucifer thought very rudely.
Then just nodded and introduced himself to the bushy haired girl, "Nice to meet you, My name is Lucifer Morningstar." while taking her hand and kissing her knuckles.
The girl was taken off guard, and slightly chuckled, before introducing herself with a smile, "Good to see you too, My name is Hermione, Hermione Granger."
Lucifer just nodded and looked at the woman to do something. McGonagall said "I will be taking both of them to the Diagon alley now".
But suddenly Maze interrupted "Diagon what alley? and why I am not allowed to go with him."
"Don't worry miss Mazikeen, no harm will be done to your ward under my care " said the professor.
Maze said "Oh, It's not him I am worried about," but stopped herself and looked towards Lucifer silently pleading him to not kill anyone, unless it's necessary of course.
Professor ignored her and moved throughout London while Lucifer was still looking at Lux hotel as he didn't trust it's safety with Maze at all.
"Don't worry, professor will make sure you come back to your home safely" said Hermione assuring the worried Lucifer.
After a small sigh, Lucifer said "Yeah we will see, so um when did you find out you can do magic?" emphasising the word magic disdainly as he still didn't believe humans to be capable of using magic.
Hermione replied shyly "Um, I accidentally summoned a book, I wanted to read from the library, when I was six years old and realised....this is not natural and when I turned....Professor McGonagall showed up at my house!"
Lucifer replied "I see, mortals using magic these days like there is nothing wrong with it at all."
Hermione got surprised of his expression like he is not a kid but choose not to pry anything further and asked him about his 'home'.
"Well, as you can clearly see it's a pub which both Maze and I purchased a while ago and we are currently living there." answered Lucifer.
"But, but it's clearly not a good place. I mean did you see those d-dancers , how could you not get embarrassed about it?! asked Hermione in total shock.
"What's there to be embarrassed about? It's their work and about age thingy, you don't know about half the things I have seen“ replied Lucifer further embarassing the poor girl.
Hermione just stopped asking stupid questions, clearly not to get further red in the face.
"Your face is clearly red, are you having any impure thoughts? Should I get some holy water for you ?"... Said Lucifer coyly clearly enjoying teasing the small girl.
Brown haired girl just huffed and tried to ignore his teasing, also decided to bath in holy water after going home.
Two silently followed the Professor towards a shady looking pub. Lucifer clearly enjoying the haunted and dark view of the place started whistling.
But after a stern look from the old woman. He stopped but that slightly got a giggle from his companion.
"Have you got your letters?" asked Professor turning towards the kids.
Hermione removed the parched envelope from her pocket whereas Lucifer decided to ask "Who the hell is stupid enough not to bring the one thing on which their entire life depends upon? I want to meet that kid...".
McGonagall again ignored him and Hermione just covered her mouth to stop her overflowing giggles. "There is a list in that letter about everything you need."
Hermione opened her letter, and started reading for her new companion/friend which she likes to say in her mind.

"Can we buy all this in London?" Lucifer wondered aloud, sharing an alarmed look with Hermione who shrugged.
"If you know where to go" said McGonagall. Lucifer and Hermione both entered the pub. Professor led the two of them towards a brick wall. Lucifer clearly felt something weird about this wall and touched it.
But what happened next was not expected by any one of them. The place where Lucifer touched, it quivered the wall, and started to make a big enough hole for everyone to pass through.
Even McGonagall got surprised "It never worked like that for any wizard not even the Headmaster. How did you open the entrance Mr Morningstar?"
Hermione who was in awe at the display of magic also looking expectantly towards her companion but he just replied "I just felt something weird about this wall and command it to show itself. And this happened."
Professor McGonagall looked warily at her new student as it has never
happened before and silently concluded to ask Dumbledore about it.
"Welcome to Diagon alley then" exclaimed professor at their look of amazement. Lucifer quickly overlooked his shoulder where the wall closed itself.
Clearly, magic in this wizarding world acts as a sentient being - thought Lucifer.
The sun shone brightly on a stack of cauldrons outside the nearest shop. Cauldrons -- All Sizes -- Copper, Brass, Pewter, Silver -- Self-Stirring -- Collapsible, said a sign hanging over them.
"Yes, you will need one of them," said McGonagall, "but we have to get your money first."
"Oh! Don't worry about money, I have lots!" said Lucifer and started removing bundles of pounds from his jacket like removing candy from a pocket.
Hermione just gasped at the money he had "Why did you have so much money with you? We are only eleven years old!"
Lucifer looked at her like she is some loony who don't show shit. "Money is everything today isn't it. I mean you can buy anything if you have enough amount. So why shouldn't I carry at least 20,000 pounds with me?"
Hermione shrieked "20,000 pounds Are you insane?! What if you dropped it somewhere, huh?!"
"Get another suitcase from the safe" Lucifer replied like it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Bushy haired girl did not have any reply for that. She just wondered how much rich he honestly is.
"Mr. Morningstar, your muggle money will not work in the wizarding world so we are going to Gringotts, The Wizarding Bank to exchange the required amount," said McGonagall.
Lucifer looked like he was just slapped in the face. Hermione after looking at his surprised expression started laughing uncontrollably.
They reached a snowy white building that towered over the other little shops. Standing beside its burnished bronze doors, wearing a uniform of scarlet and gold,
Both started following professor to the Gringotts where Lucifer saw goblins .
'Goblins were exterminated in the First war, weren't they? So how did they survive and hide for centuries?' Lucifer thought, like he just got new work to pass his time on Earth.
The goblin was about a head shorter than Lucifer and Hermione. He had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard and, they noticed, very long fingers and feet. He bowed as they walked inside. Now they were facing a second pair of doors, silver this time, with words engraved upon them:
Enter, stranger, but take heed Of what awaits the sin of greed, For those who take, but do not earn, Must pay most dearly in their turn. So if you seek beneath our floors A treasure that was never yours, Thief, you have been warned, beware of finding more than treasure there.
A pair of goblins bowed them through the silver doors and they were in a vast marble hall. About a hundred more goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales, examining precious stones through eyeglasses.
There were too many doors to count leading off the hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of these.
"Good morning," said McGonagall to a free goblin.. "I have come to take money out of the Muggle- Born Fund Hogwarts have set up.."
"You have the key, ma'am?"
"Yes," said McGonagall, pulling a tiny golden key out of her handbag, which definitely wasn't there before.
The goblin looked at it closely.
"That seems to be in order."
The goblin led the three to a cart, which sat on a set of rails which Lucifer was looking at wide-eyed.
At first they just hurtled through a maze of twisting passages. Lucifer tried to remember, left, right, right, left, middle fork, right, left, but it was impossible. The rattling cart seemed to know its own way, because Griphook wasn't steering.
His eyes stung as the cold air rushed past them, but he kept them wide open. Once, he thought he saw a burst of fire at the end of a passage and twisted around to see if it was a dragon, but too late -- they plunged even deeper, passing an underground lake where huge stalactites and stalagmites grew from the ceiling and floor.
"At least Goblins know, what's up?!" Lucifer called out to McGonagall and Hermione over the noise of the cart, "Are both of you not enjoying the rush of the wild ride?"
"Don't be stupid they didn't make it for fun," said Hermione. "And don't ask me questions, I think I'm gonna be sick..."
Lucifer just patted the head of poor girl to calm her. Hermione was surprised at his gesture of how he was treating her like a pet cat. But she secretly enjoyed the feeling so she didn't seem to stop his antics.
"Do you need a bag to spit it out?" Lucifer asked quietly, after removing a plastic bag from somewhere.
She and McGonagall did look very green, and when the cart stopped at last beside a small door in the passage wall, Hermione got out and had to lean against the wall to stop her knees from trembling.
"No, I am fine!" Hermione said, blushing a deep crimson as Griphook unlocked the door. A lot of green smoke came billowing out, and as it cleared, she gasped.
Inside were mounds of gold coins. Columns of silver. Heaps of little bronze Knuts.
"All yours," smiled McGonagall. "Of course, next year you'll both have separate vaults, but for now you two shall share. Hogwarts will enter a sum of cash at the start of each year."
All there's--it was incredible.
Lucifer helped Hermione pile some of it into her bag, his own slung over his shoulder.
"The gold ones are Galleons," McGonagall explained. "Seventeen silver Sickles to a Galleon and twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle, it's easy enough. Right, that should be enough for this year , we'll keep the rest safe for next year." She turned to Griphook. "Can we go more slowly?"
"One speed only," said Griphook.
"Ah, Can you atleast wait for a bit.. I want to exchange this trash?" said Lucifer looking hopefully at the professor.
She nodded, that's why Lucifer asked to open his own account, then deposited upto 100,000 galleons to his vault, and even dare to ask for a credit card.
"..." Goblin, who just stared at Lucifer for about a minute then reluctantly handed this boy over a Black Card, which can be used in both Wizarding and Muggle world.
After ten damn minutes, Lucifer walked towards Hermione who didn't like smug face at all. "What are you looking so grinning about?"
"Nothing," replied Lucifer, irritating the poor girl further.
They later stood blinking in the sunlight outside Gringotts. Hermione and Lucifer didn't know where to run first now that they had a bag full of money and Lucifer his secret Card.
"You should get your uniform first," said McGonagall, nodding toward Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions. "Would you mind if I slipped off for a sit down in the Leaky Cauldron?" She did still look a bit sick, so Hermione and Lucifer entered Madam Malkin's shop alone, feeling nervous and excited all the same.
Madam Malkin was a squat, smiling witch dressed all in mauve.
"Hogwarts, dears?" Madam Malkin asked, ushering the two children up onto stools, an enchanted measuring tape taking their measurements and an enchanted pencil jotting it all down on a piece of paper.
"So, what do you think of the Wizarding World so far?" Hermione asked, glancing at Lucifer who had the tape wrapped around his neck.
"Interesting," Lucifer choked out, letting out a relieved sigh as the tape let go. "What about you?"
"Well," Hermione mumbled. "I am excited about learning new things about magic and to make some friends."
"Friends you say, well we get along well and there's no red signals so far. Besides, we are past the stage of acquaintance, so what comes next?" said Lucifer still adjusting to his new life as a student.
"Um, we become friends. If that's okay with you and it's also okay if you don't want to ..? Hermione muttered under the breath, and then she got completely quiet.
Lucifer thought - 'This girl is a good company so far, also looks like an intellect type.
Then he smirked "Well, it looks like we are going to be friends for now Granger".
"R-really?" Asked Hermione, a wide smile stretching across her face.
'What did he mean by friends for now? Is he thinking about becoming my boyfriend in the future? Ugh.. Hermione Jane Granger STOP! these impure thoughts this instant...'
Hermione thought in her heart.
"Of course, which idiot doesn't want to become friends with a cute girl with a good intellect to boot " Lucifer said .
Hermione just got red in the face and was only meekly able to say "T-thanks," then turned her face away to hide her embarrassment.
Lucifer said, taking out a Silver pen his supply list out of his pocket. "Should we get our trunks and then books?"
Hermione nodded enthusiastically and led the way to the nearest trunk shop. Once their trunks were bought, Hermione eagerly took ahold of Lucifer's hand and proceeded to drag the boy to Flourish & Blotts, the book shop.
"Wow," Hermione muttered in awe as she pushed the door to the book shop, her eyes glancing over the high selves filled to the brim. Lucifer chuckled at her dazed expression, easily squeezing past her. He grabbed her list from her hand and handed both over to the nearest store clerk, who went on the search while
Hermione swept the shop, her eyes glassed over.
"We should both get this!" Hermione said excitedly, holding up Hogwarts: A History. "There's some really interesting stuff about the school and stuff!"
"Then should definitely get it," Lucifer nodded in agreement as Hermione beamed at him, taking two copies of the book and placing them on the counter, where the store clerk was waiting with their stack of books.
Well, I definitely need to learn more about this world, which is hidden for Dad knows how many centuries...
When Lucifer went to pay for his book supplies, Hermione noticed he was using a credit card "What's that you got there and where is your money pouch?!"
"Well, I obviously don't want to visit Gringotts everytime I am out of money. So, I asked them for a credit card which works in both worlds?" answered Lucifer.
"Wow, I didn't know about this. How did you get it?" asked Hermione curiously.
"Um, you should have at least 50,000 galleons in your Gringotts account to have this card. So, I exchanged nearly that amount of money to create this for personal use," replied Lucifer.
"YOU did what?! 50,000... Oh my god, how rich are you and where did you even hide that much money in your jacket?!" asked by freaked out Hermione.
"We are in a public place, so stop shouting, I always carry my black card with me and about my money thingy you don't want to know that." replied Lucifer with a straight face.
Hermione got embarrassed about shouting in the book shop, but composed herself and just decided to not question everything her new friend does. She likes to have her mind intact thank you! very much.
After paying, and then buying whatever necessities, they headed down the street towards Olivander's, the wand maker.
"I don't think I'll get a pet just yet," Hermione explained as she walked in front of Lucifer, who was heaving both their cases. He had offered after seeing Hermione struggle.
"I think I might get a cat and an owl for Maze ," Lucifer said, smiling in thought.
After, adopting a black half- kneazle pet cat. Lucifer named her Eve and named Rowena for the owl.
Hermione got confused and asked
"We aren't allowed to bring two pets inside Hogwarts, aren't we?"
"Nope, they didn't mention anything, besides this little girl here, will be in the owlery section or with Mazikeen all the time. So, I don't see a problem buying two pets" cleared Lucifer.
"O-okay, if you don't mind this person Maze is your caretaker?" asked Hermione.
"Not exactly my caretaker" After deciding the correct response. "She is a good friend, who always stays by my side". answered Lucifer.
"Oh!, well she looks like a nice person. What about your parents?" said Hermione.
"Dear o'l dad doesn't give two shit about me and well, mum did support me in my rebellion but stayed by his side. So, I don't give two penny of my time with them" replied Lucifer looking at the sky.
Hermione realising it's a sensitive for her new best friend, so she didn't say anything.
The two children entered the shop, which was eerily quiet and very dusty.
"Hello?" Hermione called out.
Very suddenly, a man with grey hair popped his head out from behind a shelf, making hermione jump but Lucifer already felt his presence when he entered the damn shop .
"Ah, yes," the man muttered, looking down at the two. "Muggle-Born, difficult to match but not impossible."
"Creepy bloke," Lucifer whispered to Hermione as the man walked away.
"With impeccable hearing!" The man called from the back, making Lucifer about this human but his ears perking another giggle from Hermione .
But suddenly Lucifer realised something and asked "What's a muggle-born?"
Hermione checked his face to see if he is pulling her leg but he was quite serious so she explained him about the term muggle-born.
"Bollocks, me a muggle-born. What kind of dope these wizards are on about, fucking morons?!" Lucifer answered angrily.
Hermione was startled from her friend's sudden outburst and she is sure that his eyes glowed red for a second . "What do you mean you are not muggle-born, were your parents magical?" asked Hermione
'Me! Harbinger of Light, The devil, Lucifer Morningstar a muggle-born?! These mortals are incredibly stupid!
"Nothing, we should get this over with. I have more important things to do with Maze" replied Lucifer.
Lucifer let Hermione get her wand first, and then he stepped up.
"Hmmm," said Mr. Ollivander, giving Lucifer a piercing look. "Well, now. Let me see," he pulled a long tape measure with silver markings out of his pocket. "Which is your wand arm?"
"Er -- well, I'm right-handed," said Lucifer
"Hold out your arm. That's it," he measured Lucifer from shoulder to finger, then wrist to elbow, shoulder to floor, knee to armpit and round his head. As he measured, he said, "Every Oliviander wand has a core of a powerful magical substance. We use unicorn hairs, phoenix tail feathers, and the heartstrings of dragons. No two Oliviander wands are the same, just as no two unicorns, dragons, or phoenixes are quite the same. And of course, you will never get such good results with another wizard's wand."
"That will do," he said, and the tape measure crumpled into a heap on the floor. "Right then. Try this one. Beechwood and dragon heartstring. Nine inches. Nice and flexible. just take it and give it a wave."
Lucifer took the wand and (feeling ridiculous) waved it around a bit, but Mr. Ollivander snatched it out of his hand almost at once.
"Maple and phoenix feather. Seven inches. Quite' whippy. Try--"
Lucifer tried -- but he had hardly raised the wand when it, too, was snatched back by Mr. Ollivander.
"No, no -- here, ebony and unicorn hair, eight and a half inches, springy. Go on, go on, try it out."
Lucifer tried. And tried. He had no idea what Mr. Oliviander was waiting for. The pile of tried wands was mounting higher and higher on the spindly chair, but the more wands Mr. Olivander pulled from the shelves, the happier he seemed to become.
"Tricky customer, eh? Not like your friend. Not to worry, we'll find the perfect match here somewhere -- I wonder, now -- yes, why not -- unusual combination -- thestral hair, dementor's clock fragment, yew wand, unknown feather indicating...Death and ressurection, eleven inches, nice and supple." He said, while looking skeptically at this boy.
Lucifer took the wand, and felt a sudden warmth in his fingers. He raised it above his head, brought it swishing down through the dusty air and a stream of red and gold sparks shot from the and like a firework, throwing dancing spots of light on to the walls. Hermione whooped and clapped and Mr. Olivander cried, "Oh, bravo! Yes, indeed, oh, very good."
Lucifer smiled in relief. Olivander also handed him an invisible wand holster and said "This wand is most curious, it has never chosen anyone until now, unyielding, cannot be used by anyone but its owner and quite dangerous for others if they try to use it. Take good care of it!"
After handing Olivander the correct money and leaving the shop with Hermione in toe, feeling immensely proud of himself headed Lux Hotel with his school supplies and his friend.
