Harry Potter Isn’t Holding Back Anymore

Chapter 73: The Interrogation Files

He repeated this line of questioning with Aurors Nymphadora Tonks, Kingsley Shaklebolt, Christine Hammer, Talbert Roberts, Percival Humphreys, Jehosaphene Davis, Ole' Locksmire, and Beesus Ickleberry. The information they provided was fairly consistent with three exceptions: Dumbledore gave specific instructions to Auror Shacklebolt to get rid of "Miss Grangers parents and Midshipman Fenix, and to make sure Miss Granger was delivered to Azkaban alive."; Jehosaphene Davis was instructed by "the Dark Lord" to "instigate bedlam and in the process kill the mudblood and her pesky parents"; and Odemont Lovegood told Beesus Ickleberry to take pictures of any 'Snaplepusses' he saw in the house. Beesus Ickleberry apparently moonlighted as a photographer for The Quibbler newspaper.

"It would appear, based on the testimony of the ten Aurors, that the 'official' intent of the Wizengamot was to capture Miss Granger and her parents, and to incarcerate them in Azkaban prison without trial for an undetermined amount of time. Further, the Aurors were instructed to kill any emergency responders interfering with the Auror orders. The 'unofficial' intent was to kill all the Grangers, myself if I was found to be there, and any other emergency responders. The Chief Warlock, head of the Wizengamot himself, Albus Dumbledore, ordered the murder of Miss Granger's parents and myself, and any other emergency responders. This concludes the questioning of these Aurors. Aurors and recordings will now be transferred to the Royal Marines Command." Evan turned off the video recorder, and made three copies with the wave of his hand. "Time to deliver a present to the Commander" he said to Sensei.

December 24, 1995. 02:00, CTCRM front gate. A truck drove up to the main gates of the base. The guard approached the vehicle. "Identification and purpose of visit" he asked. "Midshipman Fenix, delivering prisoners to the Commander" he responded, providing his identification. "I'm just dropping off the prisoners and this package. Can you have an MP come here to take possession? I still have a few days of leave I really do not want to miss." He said. "Sure thing Midshipman" the guard replied. Ten minutes later Evan and Sensei popped into the secured trunk in the storage room at Sensei's home, to get a well-deserved sleep.

December 23, 1995. 10:00pm, Chief Auror's Office, Ministry of Magic. Chief Auror Scrimgeour, Minister Fudge and Chief Warlock Albus Dumbledore were waiting with anticipation for the return of the Aurors. They should be breaching the Granger residence about now.

10:15pm – No news from the Aurors.

10:30pm – No news from the Aurors. Minister Fudge went to the fireplace and floo called Azkaban Prison – the Aurors had not arrived there either. Fudge began to worry.

10:35pm – Albus Dumbledore floo-called Azkaban Prison – still no news. Chief Auror Scrimgeour checked their trackers, but could not get a reading. The health monitors indicated they were not injured and in good health.

10:45 – still no news. Chief Auror Scrimgeour still could not get any readings on the Aurors.

12midnight – still no news. No change in the tracking monitors. The Aurors had not yet arrived at the prison. Minister Fudge and Albus Dumbledore decided on going to sleep for the evening.

December 24, 1995, 1:30am – Auror's Office. The tracking charms on the 10 Aurors failed. The health monitoring stones indicated they were still alive and healthy. There was no one there to see it. Chief Auror Scrimgeour had fallen asleep in the cot in the On-Duty room.

December 24, 1995, 07:00. Commanders Office, CTCRM. The Commander found two packets on his desk when he entered his office. The first one was a video of the thermal imaging from the Granger residence. The second was a video from Midshipman Fenix, along with letter in an evidence bag, and a note that stated the CTCRM was host to 10 Aurors and that the Commander should look at the tape. The Commander called the General to see the tape with him, then called the Prime Minister to schedule a meeting for later that morning.

The Commander and the General watched first the tape from Midshipman Fenix, then the tape from the Recon unit. They were not very surprised by the disclosures made by the Aurors, except the order to eliminate the Grangers. The order to put them in prison without trial was against all international law, as was the order to eliminate civilians. But they were not all that surprised. The surprise came from the thermal images. In the thermal images, they initially saw two individuals inside the residence. They saw the Aurors arrive, after which they saw a "transparent" dome of some sort over the residence. Being from magical families, they guessed that meant wards. They saw the Aurors go into the residence and immediately fall. A few minutes later, all the occupants of the residence disappeared, despite the ward. They needed to talk with Midshipman Fenix. Then the Commander realized that, once again, he had nomeans of getting a hold of the Midshipman! With the amount of trouble that boy got himself into, they should get him his own satellite phone!

The Commander and the General turned toward the window when they heard a bark and pecking on the window. It was the white owl. This time the Commander knew what to do. He wrote a quick note and gave it to the owl. Not 10 minutes later, Fenix was on the phone.

"Midshipman Fenix. You are one hell of a troublemaker." The Commander began. "Good morning, Sir." Evan responded. "The General and I have watched your tape and that of the Recon Unit. Who did you have with you at the residence?" the Commander asked. "Just some help, sir. That person prefers to remain anonymous." Evan replied. "Anonymous! Anonymous! You both take down 10 Aurors within seconds of their entering the house and they want to remain anonymous?" the Commander shouted. "Yes, sir." "How did you take them down? Is this other person magical? You disappeared from the premises, along with the Aurors. How did you do that? Where did you go? Our Recon Unit has no recording of you actually moving out, only of disappearing!" The Commander continued. "Well, sir. The other person is not magical. We did no magic in that sense, sir. I have no explanation for the other stuff sir." Evan responded. "Fenix – with all the trouble you are involved with, we need to find a more practical means of communication, especially in the event of an emergency. I'll be looking into that." The Commander said. "I may have a solution for that, sir. Actually, Hermione might have one. I'll see about getting us something." Evan replied. "Was there anything else, sir?" he asked. "Not at this time, Midshipman. We will be meeting with the PM in an hour." The Commander concluded, and then hung up. Then realized once again that several questions remained unanswered.
