Harry Potter: I Am a Dragon

Chapter 16: 15

When I returned to Hogwarts, I was met with frightened looks from the students. Where have you ever seen a second-year student intimidating all the other students? Now imagine when he also enjoys it, walking through the school corridors and watching the students give him a wide berth, walking dozens of metres away from him. Hehehe, silly little people.

Only three days had passed when the school was stunned by news of another attack. This time it was a boy from Hufflepuff who, before the holidays, had shouted that I spoke in snake language. That's when the fun began. Every third Gryffindor considered it his duty to challenge me to a duel. The older students didn't disdain this either. Rarely, but there were even some from Hufflepuff who wanted to avenge their friend... They were unusually friendly idiots, and I took great pleasure in breaking their bones. I was never known for my kindness.

The Weasley twins waged a guerrilla war against me, setting traps and playing pranks, but every time they came up empty-handed. It's pretty easy to avoid them if you can smell potions or see thin wire. Watching their efforts was quite amusing.

Why did I declare war on Gryffindor in the first place? There are several reasons. As they say, if you can't stop the rumours peacefully, lead them and justify them, relax and enjoy. The second reason is that I made it a rule that all complaints and challenges to a duel should be directed at me and not the girls. There were a couple of attacks on them, but now the girls don't leave our room without their protective robes, and my students can hold their own in a fight with magic wands.

Speaking of girls... To add to the chaos, I announced my engagement to Daphne on the first day, in front of the entire hall. Getting down on one knee, I handed her a ring with a spell to transport her to me. The reaction was predictable: most of the students couldn't understand what was happening, and Draco and the other Slytherins were unhappy, especially the former. The headmaster was delighted and continued to cover for me in front of the other teachers. The teachers couldn't disobey the headmaster because of their teaching contract.

Now about Astoria. The girl was shocked by her sister's story, and when I showed her my hand encased in scales, she squealed with joy and began to fondle my limb. Astoria was sincere in her emotions and swore that she would not betray her relative, as she was now.

Luna didn't really care; for her, nothing had changed. She was still my student and the vessel for Destiny's consciousness.

When Destiny found out about the engagement, she threw her arms around Daphne and led her into another room. Five minutes. Destiny spoke to her for only five minutes, but Daphne came out of the room red as a tomato and wouldn't look me in the eye. My dragon curiosity got the better of me. Quietly peeking into her superficial thoughts, I caught a few words: "What are they like for dragons, and will he fit..." Let's not talk about that for now.

February 14th, Valentine's Day, was approaching. In high spirits, I entered the hall and, to my surprise, experienced horror for the first time in my life. The entire hall was decorated with pink ribbons, heart-shaped balloons hung from the columns, and garden gnomes with paper wings ran between the tables. In the midst of this chaos stood a satisfied Lockhart, praising himself.

I felt my appetite disappear completely, turned around, and went to Dova's living room. The girls completely agreed with me, except for Luna, who was watching everything with interest.

As soon as we left the hall, a gnome ran up to me and began reciting a poem in a squeaky voice.

His eyes are the colour of sunset,

Piercing with their seriousness,

And his hair, like the ashes of hell,

Whiter than Dumbledore's beard.

Oh, God, I want you to give me your heart,

Hero who defeated the Dark Lord!

My eye twitched. The sense of beauty bent from the wound in my heart. It was a test for my musical and sensitive dragon ears. Daphne and Astoria laughed quietly behind my back.

Lifting my hand with Wabadjeck, I telekinetically lifted the dwarf and broke his neck, throwing his body to the floor and putting the stick back in my pocket.

"What, Potter, didn't the heir like that pathetic display? Well, who in their right mind could look at a murderer? Your faculty doesn't count, they're all crazy!

Turning my head, I saw Ron, whose arm, by the way, was already intact. Standing next to him was his sister, who had her head down and was staring at the floor.

"Has life taught you nothing? Yes, I'm a murderer, but prove it. I didn't touch the students, or maybe I did... Who knows me?" I said with a smirk, not afraid of being caught confessing. First of all, everyone knows that I killed a man, even if he was the Dark Lord. Secondly, I didn't say anything specific, so it can't be used anywhere, and for the most part, I just don't care.

Ron, hearing me, raised his magic wand... I was in shock, completely brainless. He knows I've fought duels with seventh-year students! But no! He has to kill himself over me!

When Astoria saw Ron's actions, she simply raised her hand, giving the command to the horned snake she always carried with her now to crawl out of her sleeve and prepare to attack. So we froze: Ron with his wand pointed at me, me looking at him calmly and smiling, Astoria with her arm outstretched and the snake a few centimetres from the redhead's neck. Daphne and Luna just stood there, ready to help.

"What's going on here!?" - A girl with purple hair cut to her shoulders emerged from the crowd of students surrounding us. She looked us over and then pointed her wand at me.

"I'm Tonks. I've been patient for a long time, but because of you, my friend is now lying there cursed. Now you're attacking a student in the middle of the school again?

I looked at Tonks questioningly. I raised my empty hands and looked questioningly at the girl, who appeared to be in her seventh year, then looked with interest at Ron's wand.

"Um, you provoked him. Yes! That's right. And you set the first-year girl's snake on him." The girl's hair began to rapidly change colour from purple to blue.

"What's it to you?

"I'm a future Auror! It's my duty to keep order!" she said proudly.

The absurdity of this chaos left me at a loss. After thinking for a moment, I turned around and walked away from this circus. All the kids were going crazy from these attacks, but as long as they didn't touch me, I didn't care about High Hrothgar.

"Where are you going?! I wanted to challenge you to a duel!" - said this wonder, running up to me, tripping on flat ground and falling on my back, knocking me over.

That's it, my nerves have given way. THIS IS COMPLETE ABSURDITY! EVEN SHEO DIDN'T HAVE THIS AT HER PLACE! A crowd of students looking at me, Weasley with a wand in his hands. I'm on the floor, pinned down by a half-baked metamorph. And, as a cherry on top, a dead garden gnome in a nappy with paper wings!

Daphne ran up to me, helping me out from under the confused metamorph. Astoria just laughed, looking at us, while Luna watched with interest as the spiders ran away from the castle.

My patience began to crumble like a house of cards. I could already feel my fangs growing and was ready to burn the crowd of these half-wits. A roar began to escape from my throat, heralding the death of the pathetic insects who dared to mock my patience...

POV Daphne

This day could be called absurd. Lockhart's idea, singing gnomes, a silly poem, a red-haired suicide, and finally Tonks from seventh year Hufflepuff.

I helped Alduin get out from under her. Holding his hand, I felt something cut through my skin. Looking down, I saw Ald's claws, and when I looked up at his face, I saw eyes thirsty for death. A faint growl reached my ears.

Alduin was angry, it was clear that he was ready to kill, just thinking about how to do it.

I don't know what made me do it, but I hugged him and kissed him. I felt his sharp fangs piercing my tongue, my blood dripping into his mouth. I smelled his scent, which had always driven me crazy from the first moment I smelled it. Honey, blood, and the smell of ashes from the fire...

End of Daphne's POV

The taste of blood intoxicated me, I couldn't tear myself away from his soft lips, trying to get just one more drop, one sweet, tempting drop of blood.

"What's going on here! Mordred, get him! Potter! What are you doing?!

I was distracted from such a beautiful and peaceful process by a voice. Reluctantly tearing myself away from Daphne's lips, I looked at Snape, who was glaring at me reproachfully.

"Showing my feelings to my bride," I hissed through clenched teeth.

"Twenty points from Dumbledore for inappropriate behaviour in school.

"Whatever, we're not chasing them.

"Minus... um... What are you doing standing there?! Move along! Nymphadora! Get up, finally! What are you lying around for?

Now think what you want, I, as the heir to Slytherin, curse the students, but they didn't rush to disperse at my voice, and then Snape came and dispersed everyone with a few words.

I took Daphne by the hand, and we all went to our living room, ignoring the teacher's gaze as he followed us.

A couple of weeks later, Dumbledore asked me to come to his office.

Sitting down at his desk as usual, I began to listen to him.

"Mr. Aldwin. The school board is very concerned about the appearance of the new faculty, but there is nothing they can do about it. Instead, they are demanding that a fifth dean be appointed. They want to put one of their own people in the school. We must act.

"And what do you suggest?" I raised an eyebrow questioningly.

"Do as I suggested, but with some changes. Your mother, Lily Potter, can get a job at the school as dean.

"But then she'll have to teach. I won't give her to Snape; we'll have to find a new Potions teacher.

"That won't be necessary. The current O.W.L.S. teacher is retiring next school year. I believe your mother would be well suited to teach that subject.

I've been thinking. The house near Hogsmeade will soon be finished, and Lily will be able to live there. She'll be here every day, so I'll be able to see her more often. The position of dean will be taken by someone I trust, and with her knowledge of animal language, Lily will have no problem teaching animal care.

"In principle, I agree. I'll talk to her about it today.

Afterwards, we discussed the situation at the school. The students complained about the events that had taken place there, but the headmaster smoothed things over as best he could. He was very good at it, which is why he holds so many management positions.

Our conversation lasted until evening. I was about to leave when a portal appeared in the office and Daphne fell out of it.

I managed to catch her in time. She was frightened, but when she caught my eye, she began to explain.

"Astoria and I were returning to our living room. But when we were passing through the third floor, we heard a voice asking for blood. Al, we were so scared, we used our amulets to hide, but the voice wouldn't stop, it said it would catch us. We hid in the women's toilet and waited. When the stall opened, Astoria's amulet flashed, and mine heated up. She froze, and I used your ring... Al, what will happen to her? It was a huge basilisk, it took her...

The girl cried on my shoulder. Hugging her, I cast a sleeping spell. Handing her over to the headmaster, I ordered him to take her to the eighth floor, to the emergency room. I told him how to get there and left him on guard.

So... you attacked the Dragon family? No, the snake won't kill her. My amulet absorbed the magic from the snake's eyes. There wasn't enough magic left for Daphne, and it left. Snakes don't eat their prey right away, and I suspect it wasn't attacking for food. As long as everyone was still alive...

Without wasting any time, I used a spell to find the way, tuning it to the lair of the snake king.

The silver thread led me to the third floor, straight to the women's restroom... Who could have thought of this place?

Opening a secret passage behind the sinks, I jumped into the pipe and climbed down.
