Chapter 150: Chapter 148: Damian's Wish
Chino gently patted Damian's small head and said, "From now on, I will celebrate your birthday with you every year. Now, I'll leave the rest to you all."
"Huh?"
Damian was still confused about what he meant.
In an instant, all the mothers produced black princess dresses, small leather shoes, gemstone crowns, makeup brushes…
"No problem, we guarantee to make Damian look absolutely beautiful!"
The excited women swarmed around him and pushed him into the room.
Before Damian could even react, he was completely engulfed by the lively chaos.
With a loud "Bang!" the door shut, leaving Chino standing outside, smiling helplessly as he waited for the birth of the little princess.
When Damian finally stepped out, he awkwardly lifted the hem of the small dress.
"Godfather, wearing this will affect my combat ability."
"There's no need for you to fight today."
Chino looked at the adorable Damian with amusement in his eyes and nodded in satisfaction.
"Exactly! Our little cutie should always dress like this."
Venom cupped his face with both hands and grinned mischievously.
"This look truly suits you," Pamela said warmly as she adjusted the small crown on Damian's head.
The others also nodded in agreement.
Damian sighed in resignation but couldn't do anything about them. He simply pouted and stood there.
"Let's go! Everyone is waiting for you."
Chino opened a portal and stepped inside first.
"Everyone?"
Damian was puzzled. Who else was there?
Venom and Pamela held Damian's hands on either side and led him inside, with the others following closely behind.
As soon as Damian entered, his eyes lit up.
The once imposing palace was now decorated in vibrant colors. Balloons of various hues—pink, blue, yellow—floated across the ceiling, intertwining like a dreamy cloud.
Colorful ribbons draped from the ceiling, swaying gently in the breeze, reflecting dazzling light. Banners adorned the walls, each displaying "Happy Birthday, Damian" in bright letters.
Soft, multicolored carpets covered the ground, and on both sides stood people and demons alike.
Brother Hulk, Uncle Blonsky, Uncle Banner, Uncle Tony, Grandfather, Teacher Hela, Penny…
Everyone he knew was here.
Damian's eyes widened in surprise, momentarily at a loss for words.
He instinctively turned to look at Chino, standing behind him.
Chino gave him a gentle smile.
"Go on. Today, you are the star of the show."
Damian nodded solemnly, lifting his skirt slightly as he walked forward. His small frame remained upright, showing no sign of hesitation.
"Happy birthday, our beautiful little princess," Tony said with a smile.
"Happy birthday, Damian," Pepper said warmly.
"Damian looks so pretty! Happy birthday!" Jade cheered excitedly.
One after another, voices rang out, offering their birthday wishes—some from humans, others from demons.
Finally, Damian reached the end of the path, where a towering pile of beautifully wrapped gifts stood like a small mountain.
At that moment, Chino stepped forward, holding a birthday cake.
"Little princess, make a wish! As the Demon King, I declare that your wish will come true."
Damian gazed at the exquisite cake before him, slowly closed his eyes, and, after a moment, blew out the candles with a determined breath.
"My wish is complete, Godfather," he said.
"Then tell us what it is," Chino asked with anticipation in his eyes.
The surrounding guests also leaned in, eager to hear Damian's wish. After all, with a walking Holy Grail in front of him, how could they not be curious? Everyone perked up, focusing intently on Damian.
"I wish for my Godfather and my mothers to always be happy. Thank you all for preparing this birthday for me."
Damian walked up to Chino and gently kissed his cheek.
Chino was momentarily stunned before smiling. "Understood. Your wish has already come true."
Venom grinned happily. "Stealing this kid back then was definitely the right choice."
Pamela, Gwen, Xi, Jean, and the others covered their mouths in joy, their eyes glistening with emotional tears.
Black Phoenix chuckled, "Damian, later, Mommy Black Phoenix will take you to eat something delicious."
And with that, the party officially began.
The three little ones and Penny immediately surrounded Damian.
"Damian, you look so pretty!"
"Yeah! Just like a princess!"
"Since your Godfather is the Demon King, that makes you the Princess of Hell."
"Let's go open the presents!"
"Okay!"
The children cheered and rushed toward the mountain of gifts, eagerly tearing at the wrapping paper.
"Wow, this is a beautiful crystal ball!"
"Look at mine! It's a delicate toy tea set!"
"I got a superhero figurine!"
Their excitement was infectious, bringing smiles to the faces of the adults as well.
Meanwhile, Tony approached Chino.
"I really didn't expect you to go all out with this—demons and humans, celebrating a birthday together."
"I asked every attendee beforehand. They all came of their own free will," Chino replied.
"The reactor you wanted me to build is almost complete. How much time do we have left?"
"That fast? Roughly nine months. What's wrong? Getting nervous?"
"Well, we are talking about a whole city—millions of lives at stake."
Tony took a sip of his drink. Even though he trusted Chino, the weight of responsibility still made his brow furrow slightly.
Chino patted Tony's shoulder.
"Relax. While this is a huge opportunity for mutants, if anything goes wrong, I will personally step in."
Tony exhaled, his tension easing slightly. A faint smirk returned to his lips.
Just then, Hela approached them. Tony raised an eyebrow.
"Looks like I should step aside. The Demon King does have a thing for mature women," Tony teased, a playful grin on his face.
"...Tony, you'll regret this," Chino's expression darkened.
"Hahaha…"
Tony laughed heartily as he walked away.
Hela turned to Chino, her curiosity piqued. "What were you two talking about? That human seemed quite amused."
"Nothing much. Hela, why did you come to me instead of spending time with Damian?"
Chino shook his head, attempting to change the subject.
"Hmph! Who has time to play silly children's games? I came here because I wanted to ask you something face-to-face."
"What is it?" Chino asked, feigning ignorance.
"What else? Hell, of course! You've poured an incredible amount of manpower, resources, and wealth into transforming Hell into what it is now.
But for a Lord of Hell like you, there's no real benefit in doing this. I just can't figure out why."
Hela gazed at the city beyond the palace.
To her, it still seemed crude compared to Asgard.
But achieving something like this in Hell was impressive nonetheless.
She then turned back to Chino, eyes locking onto him, determined to uncover his true intentions.
