Haikyuu - I Am A Different Hinata!

Chapter 105: Chapter 105 - 4V4 (Part 2)

"Oh, cut it out! Are you really gonna use that trick even during free practice? It's annoying enough during actual matches!" Kuroo complained after watching Hinata score with his left hand.

"Forget it, Kuroo-san. You guys are having fun, and I haven't even had my chance to attack yet!" Inuoka pouted.

"Actually, you're right, Inuoka. I've been sending a lot of balls to Lev, and most of them got blocked. Maybe I should stop," Kuroo teased with a playful grin.

"WHAT? That's not fair!" Lev protested.

"Alright, here you go!" Kuroo said as he set the ball toward Inuoka, who was already preparing to jump.

"Let's go!" Hinata said, timing his jump alongside Asahi. When Inuoka went for the spike, the two appeared for a double block.

"Touched!" Hinata exclaimed as he felt the ball hit his hand and fly to the back of the court.

"Hey, hey, hey... let's go for another attack!" Bokuto said as he received the ball and directed the pass to Akaashi, already getting ready to jump.

"Akaashi, send it over!" Bokuto shouted as he ran and received the set from Akaashi, once again facing a double block from Kuroo and Tsukishima.

"Hey, four-eyes, do the same thing as last time!" Kuroo said.

"Tsk! Fine!" Tsukishima agreed, slightly annoyed at the nickname but focusing on Bokuto's attack. As Bokuto jumped, he noticed Tsukishima and Kuroo's plan—Kuroo was going to mark the over-the-line attack again.

"I'M GONNA BREAK THROUGH YOUR BLOCK THIS TIME!" Bokuto yelled, this time going for a cross shot aimed at Tsukishima's block. Tsukishima felt the impact of the ball on his hands but couldn't stop it, watching as it flew to the back of the court and hit the ground.

"TAKE THAT! YOU DON'T HAVE WHAT IT TAKES TO STOP ME!" Bokuto cheered triumphantly, with Akaashi behind him looking bored.

"NO! TSUKISHIMA, YOU HAVE TO FIRMLY STOP YOUR ARMS AND DIRECT YOUR HANDS DOWNWARD, LIKE THIS! IT'S NOT ENOUGH TO JUST READ THE PLAY! YOU NEED DETERMINATION!" Kuroo said, frustrated at Tsukishima's weak block and the easy point Bokuto scored.

"I'm doing my best. I'm still growing and getting stronger. I'll get there!" Tsukishima said in his usual sarcastic, almost friendly tone.

"Did we go too hard on him?" Kuroo asked.

"Maybe... I shouldn't have said he doesn't have what it takes..." Bokuto said thoughtfully.

"Hinata, do you think he'll be upset?" Kuroo asked.

"He's just annoyed because he's failing at blocking. If it were any other time, I think he'd be really affected, but after what happened in the Miyagi finals, I don't think he'll give up so easily, especially knowing there's an Ushiwaka out there getting stronger every day," Hinata observed, not as worried about Tsukishima quitting because his mentality seemed to have improved a bit despite everything.

"What do you mean by the Miyagi finals? Are you talking about your match against Shiratorizawa?" Kuroo asked.

"Yeah... in the finals against Shiratorizawa, we got crushed by Ushiwaka, who almost made Tsukishima quit volleyball. So since then, I've been using his name to provoke Tsukishima and bring out his competitive spirit," Hinata said, shrugging.

"So he doesn't like Shiratorizawa's ace, huh? Good to know..." Kuroo said with a mischievous grin, already planning to provoke Tsukishima next time.

"Since Tsukishima left, could you help me improve that skill of mine?" Asahi asked, slightly uncomfortable about asking so directly but feeling like he had no other choice.

"Hmm... helping my enemy improve a skill doesn't seem like a good long-term plan, but..." Kuroo said suggestively, stroking his chin.

"But...?" Asahi asked, eager for Kuroo's response.

"From what I remember, you used to be a wing spiker and were pretty decent at receives. I'm working on a jump serve, so... if you want my teachings, you'll have to receive some of my serves!" Kuroo said with a smile.

"Wait, don't you have Yaku on your team? He's super skilled!" Hinata asked.

"He's too busy helping Lev with his receives. Speaking of which, Lev's hiding here because if Yaku found out he's slacking off, he'd drag him away to practice receives!" Kuroo said, giving a dark look toward Lev, who shuddered.

"Sounds like a good deal!" Asahi agreed.

"WHAT? LEV! YOU'RE HERE? WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PRACTICING RECEIVES!" Yaku appeared in the gym with an angry expression, heading straight for Lev and grabbing him by the collar.

"HELP ME!" Lev pleaded as Yaku dragged him away, his voice fading as the players continued their free practice until it was time to sleep.

"TAKE THAT! ANOTHER WIN FOR ME!" Hinata celebrated as he played a fighting game with Kenma after their bath.

"You only know how to play that broken character and spam grabs," Kenma said, clearly irritated. Hinata knew fighting games were one of the few things that could really get under Kenma's skin.

"Today's practice was fun until Yaku-san canceled it by dragging Lev out of the gym..." Inuoka observed, trying to calm things down.

"Tsk! Lev's terrible at receives. He deserves it!" Kenma said, still slightly annoyed.

"Actually, Kenma, we could practice later. I don't think I've ever received a set from you!" Hinata said excitedly.

"If you don't change your character, the only thing you'll receive is a ball to the face..." Kenma sighed.

"No need for violence!" Hinata said with a smile, then got ready to sleep.
