Grind is My Ninja Way

Chapter 562: Chapter 561: Advancement and Progression

As expected by Seimei, this time his harvest was indeed somewhat diminished.

Firstly, the two Chūnin opponents, though they didn't waste chakra resisting him, had already expended a significant amount during the previous battle. As a result, Seimei only managed to extract about 10,000 chakra points from them combined.

As for Yuhua, the special Jōnin, she had not only exhausted a considerable amount of chakra in the earlier battle but had also used up even more while fleeing.

Thus, despite Seimei squeezing out as much as he could, he obtained less than 8,000 chakra points before she lost her life.

In other words, he gained only 18,000 chakra points during this outing. While the consumption wasn't significant, the overall harvest still felt underwhelming.

Still, even a little is better than nothing.

With a light sigh, Seimei decided to use this chakra for practicing the "Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu" and "Chakra Cloak".

As for other skills, those would have to wait.

Watching Yuhua's body burn to ashes, Seimei didn't linger. He quickly used "Wind Style: Wings of Wind" to ascend into the sky and resume his patrol mission.

At the same time, he awaited his next target.

With numerous shadow clones patrolling the battlefield, Seimei wasn't worried about missing opportunities.

In fact, it didn't take long before one of his clones relayed information about a lone Mist ninja squad it had discovered.

Without hesitation, Seimei flew toward the location indicated by his clone.

And so, Seimei spent the next three days busily hunting.

Three days later.

Night.

Within a dense forest, Seimei sat cross-legged, working to absorb the training experiences and memories brought back by his shadow clones, converting them into proficiency for his skills.

Over the past three days, the Mist ninja's offensive had been relentless, leaving Seimei with significantly less time for training. He could only practice during the quieter nighttime hours when the Mist's attacks subsided.

Fortunately, his numerous shadow clones provided support; otherwise, he might not have even managed to complete his basic daily training.

However, this took a toll on his chakra.

Due to the shortened training time, he had to deploy more shadow clones for practice, which reduced efficiency and wasted quite a bit of his chakra.

Even though he managed to siphon approximately 200,000 chakra points from the Mist ninja daily, he still felt the strain.

That's right—over the past three days, Seimei had extracted nearly 600,000 chakra points from the Mist ninja.

Of these, around 200,000 points were used to make up for the 10 days of training he had missed due to the Mist's earlier movements.

The remaining 400,000 points were entirely devoted to practicing "Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu" and "Chakra Cloak."

For these techniques, the former required about 150 chakra points per point of proficiency, while the latter needed 100 chakra points per point.

Dividing the 400,000 chakra points evenly between the two, Seimei improved their proficiency by 1,300 points and 2,000 points, respectively.

This raised their levels from LV1 (12/200) and LV1 (30/200) to LV4 (625/2000) and LV4 (1330/2000).

At this level, the practicality of these jutsu had greatly increased.

Now, when facing a small Mist ninja squad, Seimei could charge directly into the fray under the dual protection of "Earth Style: Hardening Jutsu" and "Chakra Cloak," eliminating enemies swiftly.

For larger groups, he could launch surprise attacks using "Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu" to disrupt their formation before engaging with his defensive techniques.

Thanks to these advancements, Seimei's efficiency in extracting chakra had significantly improved.

That said, the Mist ninja were beginning to catch on and had stopped moving in isolated groups unless absolutely necessary. If not for this, Seimei could have obtained even more chakra daily.

However, Seimei knew better than to be overly greedy. He was fully aware that his current strength was far from invincible.

Moreover, his knowledge of the ninja world was still limited to only part of this vast reality. Who knew if someone out there had a power specifically designed to counter him?

Take the "Four Lives Sealing Formation" suddenly used by the Root division not long ago—had his strength been ordinary, he might have died under such a scheme.

Thus, Seimei was always cautious, avoiding large enemy groups even if they offered tempting opportunities for massive chakra gains.

Returning to Seimei himself.

As time passed, he quickly absorbed the training memories brought back by his clones.

At a certain moment, Seimei opened his eyes.

A flash of understanding emerged in his mind.

Focusing his attention, he activated his Byakugan to scan his surroundings. After confirming that no one else was nearby, he raised his hands and formed the "Ram" hand seal, casting not just "Shadow Clone Jutsu," but its advanced form, "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Boom!

With a puff of chakra smoke, hundreds of Seimei's clones appeared, densely filling the forest. A rough count revealed two to three hundred of them.

That's right—after three days of training, Seimei's "Shadow Clone Jutsu" had finally gained enough proficiency to advance to LV7.

As he had anticipated, the moment it reached LV7, he instinctively grasped the secrets of the "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Essentially, it was still "Shadow Clone Jutsu," but with the process of splitting chakra made far more intense, dividing chakra into hundreds or even thousands of parts in an instant.

This was incredibly demanding; for those with insufficient chakra reserves, performing this technique could instantly drain them dry, potentially leading to death.

This was why Tobirama Senju, the Second Hokage, had designated it a forbidden jutsu.

However, with Seimei's chakra reserve of nearly 150,000 points, he could perform it without too much trouble.

Feeling their own bodies, the clones realized they were no different from the original, though they were much less stable and carried only a few hundred chakra points each, making them fragile.

Additionally, the "Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu" inherited the chakra consumption traits of the original "Shadow Clone Jutsu."

Even if Seimei canceled the technique immediately, he would still lose 5% of the total chakra assigned to the clones.

This was already painful enough with regular clones, let alone hundreds of them.

Thus, Seimei had to carefully control the number of clones he created to avoid excessive chakra waste—unless there came a day when his chakra reserves were so vast he could ignore such concerns.
