Greatest Streamer System

Chapter 471 – A Genius Strategy

Danger. It was the worst scenario he could imagine. He trusted Lily to be able to escape the monster. But he was supposed to be the bait.

'What can I do?'

The light flickered off, giving him time to think. The creature was now standing in front of the fork. Based on its movement, it seemed like it was targeting the largest group first.

Max looked at his flashlight. It was now at 59% battery. He still had time.

Risk it? The answer was obvious. He immediately shone the flashlight at where the monster was last seen. The light flickered on instantly, showing him the creature. Its neck turned around, looking at him before it broke into a run.

Seeing it, Max was really surprised and began to run at full speed while shining the flashlight toward it to allow it to target him only.

"What the heck? It can run?!"

— Holy moly! The way it runs is creepy af!

— That's a humanoid monster, right? So it's like a zombie. No wonder it runs.

— Run Breeze! Run!!

— I never thought I saw that sentence again, but... RUN BREEZE, RUN!!

The chat went wild as Max gritted his teeth. He went straight to the other side of the tunnel.

"Sshshshhhh!"

A strange groan was heard behind him as Max glanced backward. The creature was catching up to him. Its neck elongated even further as it glared at him.

"Shit! Get the hell away from me!"

Loud footsteps echoed in the tunnel as he ran for his life. Whenever the light turned back on, however, the creature would turn away to chase after the other group. Max also stopped, waiting for the light to turn back on again.

His flashlight only had 32% battery left. At this moment, he had an idea how to attract the monster without allowing it to catch up to him.

When the light was turned off once again, he immediately shone the flashlight to make the creature appear. Just like before, it suddenly bent its long neck toward his direction and run.

However, before the creature managed to make its first step, Max turned off his flashlight. Then, he turned it back on, then off again.

The creature flickered in and out the world, moving ever so slowly toward his direction. All he had to do was to keep the creatures here until the others found the exit.

"Hehe, now you can't get close to me. And you returned to where you stand before. I win!" Max grinned proudly as the creature growled.

— Breeze has balls lol

— Hahahaha, this guy is smart.

— I am glad Lily is safe, but I am worried about the other group.

— Isn't this game won't end or proceed to the next round if all members don't enter the exit or die?

— What will he do now? Get killed? Your next journey awaits at empire

"I am not going to die." He replied while focusing on the monster in front of him. "As long as the light doesn't turn on, I am safe."

That was what he said, but he was getting pretty worried too. Would he stand here and kite the monster until he was tired? He didn't know the condition of the group deep in the fork. Were they safe? Or were they caught by the monster?

"Lily, everyone. Please be okay..."

He hoped for their safety as he kept switching the light on and off, forcing the monster to stay where it was.

In the next bright light time, Max noticed something. The creature was going toward him and not turning around.

"Did they escape?" He thought as he broke into a run. There was no need to look at the chat as they would probably try to fool him.

The creature always went toward a bigger group first. If Lily and the others were still in the tunnel, it would definitely chase them instead.

'Maybe they found the exit.' Max thought as he smiled wryly. He ran forward while keeping an eye on the monster behind him. He finally stopped when he realized the monster kept chasing him and raised his middle finger at it.

"Eat shit."

— Eat shiet!

— Do you need to give a middle finger to the creature? Yes, of course

— Hahaha, last man standing!

— Get chomped down. Bite bite

The creature stopped in front of him and growled. It grabbed his body with its neck before lifting him up.

Max widened his eyes in surprise as he struggled.

"No!" He shouted.

The creature opened its mouth, revealing its sharp teeth and was ready to chomp him. The next thing he saw was darkness. And when he looked around, he found himself in a familiar place.

It was the start of the tunnel. Everyone appeared beside him, confusing him.

"Huh? Why are we here again?" He asked Flexy who stood close to him.

The orange-haired streamer scratched his head awkwardly. "Well... Both are traps. We fell into a pitfall after entering that right tunnel. The left tunnel is a dead end."

"Wha-" Max widened his eyes.

"Un, we fell into a deep pitfall. It didn't hurt. We just blacked out." Lily continued.

He knew that. This game always cut the last dead scene before showing the video of the survivor or just returned them to the starting point. He just forgot about it.

"And we died because we walked the wrong way." Amelia finished, looking at Princess Peach.

The pink-haired streamer harrumphed before turning away from them. "The real exit is here."

"Un, but let's take the new flashlight and the energy drink. Our inventory is empty again after dying."

Everyone agreed. They grabbed a flashlight each, with Flexy and Max holding two flashlights. The latter had two energy drinks, while the remaining one was given to Lily, the second fastest people in this room.

Afterward, they decided to check the drawing again to find a clue. They only checked from afar to avoid triggering the creature's spawn.

"They only moves when you shine a light. Find the exit to the backroom."

The drawing had arrows. There was an arrow pointing to the left tunnel and another one pointed to the room where they spawned earlier.

Max widened his eyes when he realized it. The arrows were too small to realize it in the first place, especially since the creature appeared right after they got to the drawing.

He slapped his forehead.

"The clue wasn't telling us to go to the end of the tunnel. It only told us that the monster will move!" He exclaimed before laughing. "We were tricked by a drawing and the map design. Damn it."

"Ugh, don't tell me we need to split again?" Flexy groaned.

MadLad patted his shoulder as the guy sighed. "Well, at least we know the exit now, which is around here."

"But where?" Princess Peach asked as everyone looked around.

There were no special things here. Only the drawing and the arrow pointing to the two directions. Max shone his flashlight he got from the table everywhere before Amelia's voice drew everyone's attention.

"There is a small arrow there." She pointed at a spot in the middle of the tunnel.

Max looked at the spot she pointed and realized something. There was a reason why they didn't see that arrow earlier.

"That's where the monster spawned the first time." He said, and everyone nodded.

They remembered it clearly. The creature was standing there, growling at them. It was the scariest experience for Lily, Amelia, and Princess Peach, though Flexy looked pale too.

Max shone his flashlight to the middle of the tunnel. When he did so, the black creature with an elongated neck and white clothes appeared again.

Everyone jumped in fear as Max quickly shone his flashlight at the drawing behind them.

The monster disappeared, allowing them to breathe in relief. Max also let out a breath before shining the flashlight to the middle of the tunnel again. The monster appeared once more, blocking their way. He quickly turned his flashlight off once again.

"Damn it! Stop playing with your flashlight, buddy!" Flexy complained. "That's scary as heck! Look! Your girlfriend is trembling!"

Max rolled his eyes as he looked at Lily. Flexy was right. She trembled slightly as she hugged herself. He smiled as he patted her head.

"Sorry, sorry. But I need to make that monster move. Look at the distance. There is a manhole on the ground. I think that's our exit."

Everyone looked at where he pointed at. There was indeed a manhole on the ground, covered by a metal cover.

"Oh, I see! But how?" Amelia asked.

"We're too focused on the monster when it first appeared that we missed the manhole. Then, we ran at full speed in the dark, right? Unless we look at it carefully, it's hard to see it in the dark. At least... I am too scared to even look at the monster." Lily concluded with a nod.

"Yep. Now we know it's there, we just need to wait until the light turns on and then off. Remember that we only have 2 or 3 seconds to run toward the manhole and enter. As long as one of us survives, that will be a win. There is one way to ensure we don't lose our energy drinks, though." Max said as he turned to Flexy.

Everyone understood what he meant and nodded. They looked at the orange-haired streamer with the same mind.

"Hey, guys? I am the senior here, you know? Are you really going to do this to me? Guys? Lily? Buddy, not that plan!" Flexy's face paled when he saw everyone's gaze. He turned to Lily who shook her head apologetically.

"I am sorry, brother." He apologized as he held Lily's hand. "She's too scared without me."

"U-Un. You can do it." Lily said.

"You traitor!" Flexy widened his eyes as MadLad chuckled. Amelia also giggled as Princess Peach laughed loudly.
