Chapter 410: Unfeeling Mind I
Chapter 410: Unfeeling Mind I
*Fweeeeeeee*
The match between Familicao and Oporto kicked off with the shrill sound of the referee’s whistle and the ball began moving around the field quickly.
The ball moved from Mylo in the center of the field to Oliveira who quickly sent it over to Diaz on the left wing.
Diaz immediately tried taking off down the left flank, but his path was blocked by a Familicao player who had support from his teammates as they jointly blocked Diaz’s path.
Seeing nowhere to go, Diaz opted for a crossfield pass to the right flank instead of passing the ball back and killing the attacking momentum.
The ball was quickly sent flying over all the players all the way to the right wing where Jesus Corona was waiting for the ball and quickly brought it under control before trying to run down the right flank, but the ball was soon swept away from his legs and shot off the field.
Jason watched the attack end from the bench with the other bench buddies and sighed, his mind running simulations of how he would have escaped if he was the one in that situation.
This was one of his training methods as it always helped to have an image of escaping from such a situation in his head so that should he ever fall into the same situation one day, he wouldn’t have to start thinking about escape methods since he would already have the methods in his head and would only require his body to move.
This would save him the split seconds of time that could determine whether he would be able to succeed in maneuvering past the defenders or not.For now, that was all that was on his mind and he wasn’t bothered by the fact that he was on the bench running simulations in his head when he could be on the pitch performing all his previous simulations live.
He had already been expecting not to feature in this match and though the manager had surprised him by adding him to the line-up, he had proven him right by not adding him to the starting line-up.
Of course, there was still a chance that he might feature in the match by coming off the bench but he didn’t have high hopes in that direction.
As a matter of fact, he no longer cared that much after receiving good news from Adele earlier concerning the loan deal with Uventus.
He didn’t know how she did it and he didn’t care to know, but she had somehow managed to get the Uventus side agree to make a loan offer for him, but she had told him that Uventus would probably make an offer of a loan to buy option as they wouldn’t want him to become overpriced later, however Jason doubted that the Oporto management would be able to accept that kind of offer.
The clause that could force them to accept a loan offer wouldn’t be able to force them to accept a loan to buy offer as that was no longer just a loan deal and could end with a transfer so they could reject it, but at this point, Jason figured that this matter was no longer in his hands.
If the Oporto club management didn’t accept the loan to buy offer, then there should be a round of negotiations at least and he would have Adele interfere as best as she could to make things work out, but if it didn’t work out, he would just look for other options, however he could not help but hope that things worked out with the Uventus side.
While he was in his thoughts, the match was ongoing and the Familicao team that was on the attack suddenly had one of their players fouled in the Oporto penalty box.
*Fweeeeeee*
The referee loudly blew his whistle as he ran over to the players while pointing to the penalty spot indicating a penalty would be given to the Familicao team and the Oporto players immediately tried to debate the referee’s decision but the referee wasn’t giving in.
The penalty decision stood despite the protests of the Oporto players and less than a minute later, Marchesin was sent flying the wrong way, the net was sent bulging, and the Familicao players celebrated the goal that had given them the lead in the game.
On the sidelines, the Familicao camp erupted in celebration as well while the Oporto camp was a bit disheartened after the goal, but their moods weren’t hampered too much as they still felt that the game was within their grasp.
Barely ten minutes later, the bench buddies belief in their teammates paid off as Oliveira sent the Familicao net bulging after cleverly receiving a pass and using his momentum to escape his marker and send a powerful shot at the Familicao goal.
The Familicao goalkeeper was no match for the venom filled shot and fell short, unable to reach the ball before it flew past him and ended at the back of the net.
With that Oporto had equalized the game while just barely getting past the half of the first half.
The Familicao fans watching the game could feel their hearts sink as they watched the ease with which the Oporto team equalized their game and they could already feel their hearts quaking from what was to come.
Before long, their bad premonition came through as Mylo got on the end of a curling cross from Corona on the right flank and controlled it deftly before firing it home and giving Oporto the lead just before half time.
The commentator’s voice erupted as much as the Familcao fans’ hearts sank as they watched their team go from having the lead to getting equalized against and finally beginning to trail behind their opponents.
As the match kicked off again, Oporto seemed to enter another gear in their attacking attempts and were looking like they would draw away even further, causing the Familicao fans to watch with bated breaths, but just as the pressure was getting too much, the referee’s whistle signifying the end of the first half blew loudly and play paused.
