Greatest Legacy of the Magus Universe

Chapter 800: Invaluable Secrets (Ko-fi Bonus Chapter)

Adam had a vague idea about what the Joker was referring to, but he chose not to ask him about it. Not at the moment, anyway. That wasn't what was important.

After the Joker had finished laughing till he was content, he turned towards the raven-haired youth and praised, "To become a Mana Vortex Magus before the age of thirty-five is truly spectacular. I must say, your talent in the arcane arts far surpasses even my Master."

Adam revealed a faint smile as he shook his head. "I dare not compare myself to Mathias the Free."

"Fafafa!" The Joker laughed out loud, his voice laced with surprise. "Would you look at that! It would appear that you have picked up some manners along the way. How very shocking!"

Adam's lips twitched, and he couldn't help but ask, "Was I really such a brash kid back then?"

"Heh," the Joker sneered. "Need I remind you, young lad?"

He snapped his fingers and conjured a high-back purple leather chair out of nowhere. He took his seat and gracefully crossed one leg over the other.

With another snap of his fingers, he conjured a giant ceramic teacup. He then grasped the handle of the cup—his pinky finger jutting out in a comical manner—and began sipping on the tea.

"Hmm, let's see," said the figure with an arched eyebrow. "I remember you picking up a fight with me on several occasions. I also recall you being a terrible liar. Oh, and let's not forget how often you would dig your nose, searching for booger—"

"Okay, that's enough!" Adam hurriedly interrupted him. His cheeks had reddened from embarrassment after being reminded of his past.

Come to think of it… I severely lacked manners as a kid, he mused.

Seeing the raven-haired youth turn red from embarrassment, the Joker laughed out loud. "Fafafa!"

He then cast an inquisitive gaze at the youth, "So, dear lad, what brings you to my home?"

Then, he started sipping on the warm tea that he had conjured seemingly out of thin air. It had been a while since he had company, so he was greatly enjoying the moment.

Adam's expression turned solemn. He decided to be completely upfront with the Joker since the latter knew everything about the topic.

There was no point in beating around the bush. Moreover, he trusted the Joker to keep what was spoken between them. Especially after hearing his previous remark.

"Sir Joker, I wish to learn from you the method to leave Tron," he said solemnly. "In my recent travels, I have found clues pointing to Selene and Luna. I have come to learn that they hold the key to the Greater Universe."

He paused for a moment, allowing the weight of his words to settle, before adding, "I have also found clues regarding our solar system and the planetary alignment. However, I do not yet know their true significance. I hope you can help me—"

Adam didn't even have the time to finish his words when he was viciously interrupted. The Joker spat the tea from his mouth straight onto him.

Strangely enough, the tea continued to pour out from the Joker's mouth like a waterfall for several seconds before it finally stopped.

"You sure have stumbled onto great secrets, lad!" The Joker was stunned.

These were secrets that were only known to the Rank 4 Mana Core Magi of Tron. Perhaps, most of them didn't even know about it. Their knowledge regarding this only scratched the surface!

Yet, Adam, as a Mana Vortex Rank of thirty-five years of age, had already learned about such secrets.

The youth in question was completely drenched in tea. For a moment, he couldn't believe what had just happened. Before he had the time to even react, he heard the sound of fingers snapping.

SNAP!

In a moment, the tea sticking to Adam's clothes and body had vanished, and everything had returned to normal. In fact, his robes were now cleaner than before.

Once again, Adam was taken aback. He couldn't help but come to think that the Joker's magic was the most bizarre out of everyone he had met.

He turned towards the man and continued, "You mentioned last time that Mathias the Free had traveled to the Greater Universe and visited many planets there. You also mentioned that he returned to Tron later on."

Adam's eyes flashed with hope, and he added, "That means he must have left behind a method to leave this planet, yes? And since you technically know everything he knew, then you must also know the way to venture into the Greater Universe!"

The Joker looked at Adam's dark eyes that seemed to be shining brighter than the brightest stars in the galaxy. Seeing that, he revealed a faint smile.

Such was the trait all great Magi possessed - boundless curiosity.

"Firstly, dear lad," he began, "I must inform you that information regarding other magical civilizations in the universe is strictly confidential in Tron. Such information is unknown to any Magus below the Mana Core Rank. Do you know why?"

Adam solemnly nodded. "To prevent panic and chaos amongst the masses."

"Indeed," said the Joker, sipping tea from the giant cup.

His eyes narrowed and a mischievous glint flashed in them. "It is exactly like you have said. The twin moons, Selene and Luna, indeed hold the key to venturing into the Greater Universe."

He paused, swirling the tea in the cup, before continuing, "It is also true that the journey to the Greater Universe is heavily reliant on the astrological alignment in our solar system."

Adam's breathing turned shaky and his heartbeat sped up. Having someone else confirm the veracity of the Twilight Brotherhood's founder's journals filled him with hope.

The Joker rose to his feet and waved his hand, causing the high-back chair and teacup to disapear. He clasped his hands behind his back and started to slowly walk around Adam.

"My Master journeyed to the Greater Universe several thousand years ago. He visited many planets there, learned the countless arcane arts, and ascended to ranks that a Magus from Tron could never hope to achieve."

He turned to Adam, his lips curling into a smirk. "Just like you've said, lad, my Master has indeed left behind a method to leave Tron and journey towards the myriad magical worlds in the depths of the Magus Universe!"

Adam waited with bated breath, eager to learn about these invaluable secrets. Finally, the questions that had been keeping him up at night would be answered.

"But…" The Joker leaned forward and grinned from ear to ear.

"Why should I tell you?"
