Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 805: The Origin of the World Suppressing Stele

The nine prayer beads on Sha Wujing's neck are actually transformed from nine World Suppressing Steles. The Myriad Blood Halberd was originally forged from these nine World Suppressing Steles, but once the Artifact Spirit was lost, the Myriad Blood Halberd reverted to its original form; the blood and soul of the billions of creatures dissipated, causing the World Suppressing Steles that formed the halberd to naturally separate. Of all those present, both Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie possess the ability to control the Wasteland Soil Stele and Ultimate Water Stele, but at that time, the nine World Suppressing Steles were intertwined with each other, making it impossible for Sun Wukong to control them.

However, there was one person who possessed the ability to simultaneously control all nine World Suppressing Steles, and that was Sha Wujing. This ability to control all the World Suppressing Steles was given to him by the Primordial Honor back then. Speaking of this, one must mention the origins of the World Suppressing Steles. Many people actually know something about the origins, but what the world knows is merely that the World Suppressing Steles were forged by the Pioneer to seal the Primordial Honor.

Yet, upon closer reflection, one can discern some contradictions. The Pioneer's power back then, after receiving the Primordial Honor's guidance and absorbing a portion of his spirit, surpassed the peak of a Heavenly Venerate but did not reach the realm of a Primordial Honor. Moreover, the Pioneer was not particularly skilled in artifact refining. Thus, the question arises: how did the Pioneer forge the World Suppressing Steles? It's known that the hardness of the World Suppressing Steles is unparalleled in the universe; even now, Sun Wukong cannot do it any harm. It's so tough that ordinary flames cannot refine it, and the Pioneer was never known to have any formidable flames.

In reality, no one knows how the World Suppressing Steles came to be. They seemed to appear out of nowhere and were then used by the Pioneer to seal the Underworld Venerate. This involved another plan by the Primordial Honor, which was to control this universe after his perfect resurrection. He was once the Primordial Honor of another universe, the Controller of that universe. But after being outwitted by the Pioneer and the Underworld Venerate, he was no longer considered the Primordial Honor, having lost the powers of a Primordial Honor, especially as his soul and body arrived in this universe. His original universe would then deem the Primordial Honor dead, allowing the cosmic rules to give rise to a new Primordial Honor.

This means that even if he perfects his resurrection, he can never return to his original universe, and even if he could go back, he would not be a match for the new Primordial Honor, who could wield the combat power of the entire universe, while he would be utterly alone. Therefore, he prepared his resurrection plan while secretly planning how to control this universe. Though this universe was not as high-level as his original, luckily there was no Primordial Honor here, eliminating his biggest threat. As long as he resurrects, he could naturally ascend to become the Primordial Honor and drive the universe's upgrade.

The first step in the Primordial Honor's plan to control this universe was to forge the nine World Suppressing Steles. Although with his ability and powers at the time, he found it very difficult, others could achieve it. The Pioneer and the Underworld Venerate were very good candidates. However, given his power at the time, he was no match for either of them, so he couldn't resort to forceful tactics. He used his soul and essence mobility to possess a then-renowned artifact refiner's body, leveraging his knowledge of fusion across two universes to gain the Pioneer's trust quickly.

After crafting many powerful magic treasures for the Pioneer and gaining his complete trust, the Primordial Honor proposed in a secret conversation that he wanted to forge the World Suppressing Steles for the Pioneer. At the time, his reasoning was: the Pioneer and the Underworld Venerate were equally matched; however, a universe can only have one supreme ruler. Yet, these two were at an impasse. If the World Suppressing Steles were successfully forged, it would mean the Pioneer had a formidable ultimate weapon.

The World Suppressing Steles, as described by the Primordial Honor, were not merely what the world understood. The World Suppressing Steles were meant to suppress worlds—steles made of materials gathered using the nine origin powers of this universe, with cosmic rules fused within. The Primordial Honor sacrificed even his stature and reputation from when he was the Primordial Honor of his original universe. Consequently, the nine World Suppressing Steles became this universe's embodiment. Whoever could fully control the nine World Suppressing Steles would become the master of the universe, hence not needing to ascend to Primordial Honor to control the universe. The Pioneer was naturally moved by the Primordial Honor, thus deploying all his resources to serve him.

Of course, to keep everything confidential, only the Primordial Honor and the Pioneer knew of the forging of the World Suppressing Steles. The Primordial Honor was meticulous in this matter, knowing it was all prepared for himself; he left nothing to chance. After nearly a hundred years, the nine World Suppressing Steles were finally forged, with the Pioneer's blood integrated into them, allowing his control.

Upon obtaining the World Suppressing Steles, the Pioneer, to preserve secrecy, killed the artifact refiner. But the Primordial Honor had prepared, and his soul escaped successfully. With the World Suppressing Steles, the Primordial Honor finally engaged the Underworld Venerate in a decisive battle, and successfully sealed the Underworld Venerate using the World Suppressing Steles in the battle. However, the Pioneer did not expect that the Elixir Spirit Pills would betray him at the crucial moment, and Dao Zhun would also turn against him. Furthermore, at the last moment of sealing the Underworld Venerate, the World Suppressing Steles lost control and absorbed a portion of his soul. This is why the Pioneer had to design his own "death."

After the pioneer's death, the Primordial Honor became the sole controller of the nine World Suppressing Steles, but at that time his power had yet to recover, not the perfect resurrection's best timing, and the combined nine World Suppressing Steles would easily draw attention from other powerful entities. Hence he dispersed the World Suppressing Steles to different corners. Having the highest control over the World Suppressing Steles, he wasn't worried about losing them or someone else acquiring them—should anyone manage to make the World Suppressing Steles recognize them as master, it would only be at a very basic level of recognition, merely hiding the truth.

With basic recognition, the power of the World Suppressing Steles would only be harnessed to one percent, so when Sun Wukong first acquired the World Suppressing Stele, he used it as a brick. Even Yue Huangquan, which emerged due to the World Suppressing Stele, could only use ten percent of its power.

Originally, the Primordial Honor could keep the power to control the nine World Suppressing Steles to himself, but later he found that the power to control the World Suppressing Steles conflicted with his own spirit. His spirit bore the intense aura of his original universe, while the World Suppressing Steles embodied this current universe, causing a clash between the two universes. Forced by circumstances, to eventually blend his spirit, he assigned all control of the World Suppressing Steles to Sha Wujing.

At that time, Sha Wujing was entirely under his control. The Primordial Honor never imagined Sha Wujing would one day break free from his control, not only depriving him of the control over the World Suppressing Steles but also losing the opportunity to become the Controller of the Universe, unless he could kill Sha Wujing, which proved difficult. Hence, upon seeing the World Suppressing Steles transformed into nine prayer beads hanging around Sha Wujing's neck, the Primordial Honor almost went mad with rage. His painstaking efforts ended up as merely clothes for another.

In his wrath, the Primordial Honor did not act rashly but swiftly calmed down, his black skeleton body glimmering with intense black light. He knew even without the World Suppressing Steles, not all was lost, and Sha Wujing's strength alone was not sufficient. Though he could control the nine World Suppressing Steles, with his spiritual power and physical strength, he wasn't too threatening. Remember, the more powerful something is, the higher the price for wielding it. The Primordial Honor, once composed, understood that the priority wasn't Sha Wujing or the World Suppressing Steles, but rather a certain large stone.

After leaving that stone, the Primordial Honor regained his freedom. Although he lost the Myriad Blood Halberd, with the formidable toughness of his skeletal body, he did not lack much in comparison to divine weapons; moreover, Ling Weiyang's Demon Emperor Halberd remained. Despite sensing the Artifact Spirit of the Demon Emperor Halberd gradually dissipating, its body remained intact; as long as he could acquire the Demon Emperor Halberd and stuff the souls of the two into it to serve as Artifact Spirits, the Demon Emperor Halberd would still be a weapon not inferior to the Myriad Blood Halberd.
