Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 801: The Legend of Flower Fruit Mountain

As the Through-back Ape appeared, so did the Six-Eared Macaque Demon Emperor and the Red-Buttocked Horse Monkey Wu Zhiqi. Seeing them, Sun Wukong felt a bit excited. In truth, whether it was Wu Zhiqi or the Demon Emperor, or perhaps Yuan Must-Die, Sun Wukong had encountered them before. However, the three appearing together meant something entirely different. Although Sun Wukong didn't know exactly what happened, one thing was certain: these three were definitely on his side. Although the Six-Eared Macaque had once had his memory erased and been controlled, it was of little concern.

If there were anyone other than Tang Sanzang and Zhu Bajie that Sun Wukong could trust completely, it would only be these three monkeys who originated from Flower Fruit Mountain with him. Grasping the Six-Eared Macaque's hand, Sun Wukong found himself at a loss for words. The Six-Eared Macaque was also quite nervous, so they simply looked at each other, neither speaking. "Brother Monkey, what are you two doing? We still have an unfinished fight."

Interrupted by Zhu Bajie, the atmosphere eased slightly. Patting the Six-Eared Macaque's shoulder forcefully, Sun Wukong said nothing; often, words felt superfluous. "We'll talk later; for now, let's practice and defeat Primordial Honor." Although Sun Wukong said it, he knew clearly that even with the four of them, the situation hadn't improved much. Sun Wukong with the combined power of the three Wu Zhiqi was still insufficient against Primordial Honor.

The main issue was that none of them had enough attack power to harm Primordial Honor. Attacks that couldn't inflict damage were merely tickling him. The Through-back Ape scratched his head, saying, "Monkey, we're here to help you, but before that, there's something I need to tell you." Sun Wukong was a bit surprised; what could be more important at this critical moment than defeating Primordial Honor?

Turning to glance at Primordial Honor, Sun Wukong found him still sitting on that large rock, with two flickering ghost fires in his eye sockets, showing no intent to attack. Sun Wukong didn't understand Primordial Honor's situation; logically, even if Primordial Honor wanted their inner power and didn't want to kill them, it still shouldn't be like this. Currently, Primordial Honor seemed to lack any fighting intention, as if saying, 'You hit me, and I'll block a few; if I can't block, I'll endure.'

The attacks from Zhu Bajie and White Dragon only added some explosion marks to Primordial Honor's skeleton, but those marks were shallow, clearly causing no substantial damage. It meant Nine Heavens Pure Water and Nine Heavens Pure Fire couldn't break Primordial Honor's defense. Although Sun Wukong found Primordial Honor's state odd, he couldn't guess the outcome immediately, so he took the opportunity to listen to what vital information the Through-back Ape had. Sun Wukong nodded at the Through-back Ape, while his peripheral vision caught Tang Sanzang and Zhibei conversing under a large tree. Sun Wukong paid them no attention.

The Through-back Ape saw Sun Wukong's focus on him, took a deep breath, and spoke solemnly: "Before dealing with Primordial Honor, I need to tell you about the four spirit monkeys. Flower Fruit Mountain has a legend; when a world-destroying disaster occurs, then the four spirit monkeys will emerge and use their power to save all beings. You should know this legend too. I always thought it was a joke from one of our ancestors, as many legends aren't true."

"However, later I discovered many things in many hidden places, leading me to conclude that Flower Fruit Mountain's legend is true. The four spirit monkeys of Flower Fruit Mountain are saviors. But there's one thing that only a few old monkeys know about; historically, Flower Fruit Mountain only had three spirit monkeys. It's always been three spirit monkeys: the Red-Buttocked Horse Monkey, the Through-back Ape, and the Six-Eared Macaque. Monkey, do you know what this means?"

Sun Wukong was a bit confused; he always knew the legend of the four spirit monkeys but never knew Flower Fruit Mountain actually had only three. Then what about him? Ling Ming Stone Monkey, what is that? Sun Wukong shook his head,

The Through-back Ape gently shook his head, saying: "This means you are unique; the other three spirit monkeys aren't individuals but a tribe. Only you, Ling Ming Stone Monkey, are one-of-a-kind." Sun Wukong knew this well; neither the Six-Eared Macaque, the Red-Buttocked Horse Monkey, nor the Through-back Ape was unique. The Red-Buttocked Horse Monkey wasn't a name for an individual but a term for a type of monkey.

The Six-Eared Macaque is somewhat special; it's an anomaly among macaques, just like the Expels Gods Great Saint King within the Seven Saints of the Demon Clan, also a macaque. But this has nothing to do with the current situation. Looking at Sun Wukong, the Through-back Ape continued: "At the bottom of Flower Fruit Mountain, there's a stele that records everything about the four spirit monkeys. But when I had the chance to view that stele, my strength was too low, and I couldn't understand all its content, but I grasped some of it."

Sun Wukong was surprised; there's a stele at the bottom of Flower Fruit Mountain? How come he never knew? And the Through-back Ape had long left Flower Fruit Mountain; when did he see it? Though bewildered, Sun Wukong said nothing and continued to listen. "The stele said the three spirit monkeys are incarnations of the universe spirit, essential to all life forms' evolution. Ling Ming Stone Monkey will only be born before a true annihilation, its purpose to become the savior. Besides, it also mentioned that Ling Ming Stone Monkey is the leader of the spirit monkeys; only when the other three spirit monkeys sacrifice themselves can Ling Ming Stone Monkey gain supreme power and save all beings!"

As soon as the Through-back Ape finished speaking, Sun Wukong rejected it without a second thought, "Don't talk about it; whether or not the stele exists, even if it does, I won't watch you three sacrifice, and I don't believe what you said!" Sun Wukong said this with determination. Actually, Sun Wukong didn't distrust the Through-back Ape but couldn't afford to trust. Once he trusted, it meant acknowledging the stele's existence, which equated to accepting that defeating Primordial Honor required sacrificing Six-Eared and the others, something Sun Wukong could never accept.

The Through-back Ape wanted to speak again, but Sun Wukong interrupted him, saying to Zhu Bajie: "Idiot, can you still fight?" Zhu Bajie nodded. "Good, assist me; I want to see if this skeleton is truly invincible!" Sun Wukong didn't want the Through-back Ape to continue speaking; whether true or false, it would sway Sun Wukong's resolve.

Moreover, Sun Wukong hadn't actually used all his power, which was why he didn't despair facing Primordial Honor. Wielding the Jingu Bang, Sun Wukong took a deep breath and began to circulate his Five Elements Power within. He remembered Daozun Primordial Master telling him the balanced extreme attribute power of his Five Elements was the strongest, opening the door to the end of the Supreme Path for Sun Wukong with the balanced power.

Regarding Daozun Primordial Master's words, Sun Wukong had always trusted them; he understood that once he possessed balanced Five Elements power, he had the potential to ascend to Primordial Honor. Coupled with having merged some spirits, Sun Wukong might also break through to Primordial Honor, and since Primordial Honor didn't have a physical body, Sun Wukong might even fight and win against him.

Thus, Sun Wukong needed to push himself into a dead-end, hoping the desperate situation might force him to break through to Primordial Honor. It was a gamble, a more insane gamble than Primordial Honor's, bet on Sun Wukong's survival alongside everyone and even the entire Fang Universe.

As Sun Wukong exercised the Five Elements Power, five symbols appeared behind him, revolving slowly. It was clear that the five symbols were five sorts of characters, though unfamiliar to the people present. While they didn't recognize the characters, they could distinctly feel the aura emitted, the scent of the Five Elements.

Finally, after Sun Wukong set everything aside, he pushed the power of the Five Elements to its limit. (To be continued.
