Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 238: Never Say Die

The two groups, previously locked in chase and pursuit, suddenly all came to a halt, then turned to look at the giant black scorpion that had appeared in the midst of them as if they couldn't believe their eyes and ears. Lin Xi gave King of Qin a meaningful glance, and understanding his intention, they slowly inched closer to the giant scorpion while still maintaining a safe distance.

"What, what's happening? Can this scorpion actually talk? Could I have heard wrong?" Bu Yun asked Hao Chen while turning his head to look at the great scorpion with three tails. Hao Chen simply shook his head lightly and replied, "I heard it too!" At that moment, the Black Mirror Scorpion issued another sound, "What's the matter? Got a good scare, huh?

Ha ha, if you want to fight then fight, otherwise beat it!"

Hearing such an arrogant voice, Bu Yun instantly flew into a rage. With a gesture of summoning in the void, the Death Cloud Halberd appeared in his hand. Then, with one step and a toss of his shoulder, the Death Cloud Halberd was thrown ferociously. Once released, the halberd swelled in the wind and instantly turned into a ten-meter-long column rushing towards the Black Mirror Scorpion.

"Why do I feel like you're enjoying using the Death Cloud Halberd as a throwing weapon more and more?" Hao Chen teased Bu Yun. Casting a contemptuous glance at Hao Chen, Bu Yun retorted, "Am I supposed to just go up and fight it out? With such a huge size, who knows how strong it really is, and a talking scorpion, that's a first for me—at least in the Sand Realm!"

Just then, the ten-meter-long Death Cloud Halberd reached the Black Mirror Scorpion but was abruptly stopped by an invisible barrier. Following that, a sweep of the Black Mirror Scorpion's tail knocked the halberd to the ground, while its iron pincer, emanating a black glow, struck the side of the halberd with an upward swing.

The blow was hefty, sending the Death Cloud Halberd back towards Bu Yun at thrice its incoming speed.

This jolted Bu Yun, who hurriedly dodged to the side; meanwhile, Yao Wumeng and the others, sensing trouble, swiftly retreated. Then, the Death Cloud Halberd jabbed into the ground, its ten-meter shaft buried over five meters deep. Witnessing the Black Mirror Scorpion's move, Yao Wumeng's eyebrows twitched, as if he had realized something.

By now, Bu Yun had withdrawn the shrunken Death Cloud Halberd from the ground and was about to strike once more when Yao Wumeng suddenly called out to stop him, then glanced at Jing Potian and said, "Let's go, don't act rashly when the situation is unclear!" He then prepared to retreat. However, after only one step back, Bu Yun cried out in alarm, "I'm afraid we can't leave now."

No sooner had he spoken than countless Black Mirror Scorpions, large and small, surged from beneath the sand behind them. These scorpions did not swarm chaotically towards them; instead, they all lined up in an orderly fashion, like a battalion of well-disciplined soldiers.

Seeing the unusual behavior of the Black Mirror Scorpions, Yao Wumeng's complexion turned exceedingly ugly. He looked around and realized that in this short time, they had been surrounded by thousands of Black Mirror Scorpions of various sizes.

"Go up, fly!" Before he finished speaking, Yao Wumeng suddenly leapt up intending to flee through the air, but no sooner had he jumped than four shining scorpion tails spiked down towards him from above. Yao Wumeng, not daring to be careless, quickly barred his chest with the Tyrant Sword Juque in his hand. The broad blade acted like a shield, catching all four tails upon it.

However, the impact of the four tails counteracted the force of Yao Wumeng's leap, and he landed heavily back on the ground. Upon landing, Yao Wumeng rotated Juque's blade for a closer look, and his brow furrowed once more—on the central part of the blade, four small pits had appeared.

Seeing Yao Wumeng's plan foiled, the other three also abandoned the idea of escaping through the air. Suddenly, the largest Black Mirror Scorpion let out a roar, and on its back, two figures slowly emerged. One of them raised his right hand high and then swung it down sharply, upon which the regimented Black Mirror Scorpion army started to attack Yao Wumeng and his party.

The figure standing on the Black Mirror Scorpion, watching Yao Wumeng and his companions be engulfed by the scorpion army, turned to King of Qin and Lin Xi who were not far behind and said, "You two, how about we make a trade?" King of Qin and Lin Xi were slightly taken aback, but before they could react, they saw two shadows flash by; the two who had been standing on the scorpion's back were now before them.

"So it's Bi Hai from Myriad Gods Hall and Jixin from Myriad Spirits Realm. I truly didn't expect that the two of you would have such fortune. It seems you have gained the allegiance of this King of the Black Mirror Scorpions, huh?" Because Lin Xi had met them before, she recognized their identities at a glance.

"Heh, it's nothing spectacular, just a stroke of luck amidst misfortune. Judging by what just happened, the two of you must have been hunted by those four, weren't you? How about it, would you consider joining forces with us to eliminate those four?

That way, Myriad Demons Country and Annihilation Demon Nation will definitely be the last to remain." Jixin knew that he and Bi Hai had obtained the fewest Domain Beads, and if they couldn't take this opportunity to kill those people, it was likely that in the Six Kingdoms War, Myriad Gods Hall and Myriad Spirits Realm would end up at the bottom.

Lin Xi pondered for a moment before saying, "Killing those four is impossible now, but if we can severely damage them, I, Lin Xi, would be more than happy to do so." Seeing Lin Xi agree, Jixin turned his gaze to the King of Qin.

The King of Qin said, "That Jing Potian must die!" As soon as he spoke, a surge of murderous intent and Death Qi erupted from the King of Qin, and a ferocious ghost's head appeared above his head out of the dense Death Qi.

Although Jixin found the King of Qin's murderous intent rather startling, he was inwardly pleased and glanced at Bi Hai before they both nodded. Bi Hai then said, "Let those Black Mirror Scorpions wear them down a bit more. When the time comes, that's when we'll make our move!"

With that, the four of them were all prepared, just waiting for Yao Wumeng and his companions to reveal any flaws while fending off the Black Mirror Scorpions' attacks, and then they would strike a lethal blow.

At this moment, Yao Wumeng and his companions found their situation unbearably bitter. What they couldn't have imagined was that although they had been gaining the upper hand, the sudden appearance of the Black Mirror Scorpions, not only capable of speaking human language but also calling upon countless Black Mirror Scorpions to besiege them, was overwhelming.

Yao Wumeng was certain that Lin Xi and the King of Qin were definitely somewhere, watching them intently, ready to launch a ferocious assault the moment any of them showed the slightest weakness.

The pervasive Death Qi around the King of Qin, along with Lin Xi's Dong Tian Chi, were greatly dreaded by Yao Wumeng. However, at this time, they could think of no way out. The dense swarm of Black Mirror Scorpions, each one viciously fearless of death, had them so hard-pressed that there was no chance to spare any thought for Lin Xi or the King of Qin.

Even more troubling for Yao Wumeng was the giant scorpion that could speak. At this moment, the largest of the Black Mirror Scorpions, brandishing its three Scorpion Tails, watched the battlefield intently.

Just as Yao Wumeng was at his wit's end, Jing Potian on the side suddenly burst out in a rage. He was already not in the best shape because he had cut off his right arm, and although he had taken an Elixir, losing an arm was no small injury. So, dealing with the endless Black Mirror Scorpions was incredibly difficult for him.

Just then, two ten-meter-tall ghosts appeared on either side of Jing Potian. One was covered with pitch-black Scale Armor and had wings on its back, with two sharp long horns on its head.

The other looked to be a General, clad in full Armor and wielding a slender curved saber. These two were the very manifestations of the King of Qin's Demon Suppressing Seal's Hell Demon and Imperial Ghost Seal's Spirit-destroying Ghost.

The appearance of the two ghosts meant bad news for Jing Potian, but his body's response was a fraction too slow. Although he managed to dodge the Spirit-destroying Ghost's horizontal slash and the Hell Demon's headbutt, he couldn't escape the King of Qin's palm, wrapped in rich Death Qi.

This palm strike hit Jing Potian squarely in the back!

Immediately, Jing Potian's blood spurted wildly, and a surge of Death Qi rapidly spread from his back to his entire body!

"Damn it, damn it all, today, I, Jing Potian, even if I die, will drag you down with me. Palm Transformation!" As the roar ended, Jing Potian's left palm suddenly transformed into a sliver of fine lightning that shot towards the sky, followed by the appearance of a huge nine-headed lightning serpent, its eyes fixed firmly on the King of Qin.
