Chapter 7: Silk Spider Queen
Within the cold confines of his office, Eisen von Blut diligently worked through his own paperwork.
Stopping momentarily to rest and think about things, Eisen stood up and walked towards a large window overlooking Silicon valley forest.
“I wonder how the students are doing?” Eisen thought to himself.
‘The last message I received from Wilhelm was that they were going after the queen silicon spider herself, quite the goal I must say.’ Eisen thought to himself.
His musing stopped as his telegraph began to tap out small bits of ink. Walking towards his desk Eisen waited until his telegraph was done, after that he grabbed the piece of paper and began to look at what was written on the paper.
He understood that the things written on the paper were written in morse code, a good thing he memorized the morse code years ago.
Quickly reading through the morse code and decoding it, Eisen was able to read it out.
“All exceptional students in cluster 2 have met and agreed to take out the queen spider.” Eisen read aloud the paper.
“Interesting.” Eisen said to himself.
His musing awas suddenly caught short as a knock rang to his door. Turning around and looking at the door as Eisen spoke.
“Enter.”
“Thank you very much, headmaster.” A voice said.
The door to his office was opened as a man with long brown hair entered his office.
He was a young man, his name was Winston Bierkamp, the general studies teacher of Grayfield academy.
As stated he has long brown hair, bright amber eyes. He was wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt and black vest along with long pants.
Out of all of the staff inside of Grayfield, Winston was by far one of the most respected teachers there, and it was not hard to see why.
Wise, Reserved, Patient there are plenty more words that would describe Winston.
Shaking his head, Eisen looked at one of his former students and asked.
“And what are you doing here, Wiston?” Eisen asked as he walked towards his desk and sat down.
“I figured that I should give this to you.” Winston said as he gave Eisen an unopened envelope and a cup of coffee. “ I also figured that you haven't had your morning coffee yet so I figured that you would most likely need it for dealing with this mountain of paperwork you have to deal with.”
Eisen nodded as he grabbed the envelope and began to inspect it.
“And I trust that you and the other teachers have checked this envelope whether or not this is safe, am I right?” Eisen asked.
Winston nodded, “Yes, yes we already have, we're certain that it was just a message from the raven to you.”
Eisen perked up as he looked at the paper sealed envelope, “This is a message from Raven, interesting. Why didn’t she just send the message to me through telegraph. hmmm.”
Winston coughed as he looked at Eisen. “Is there anything else that you would like to ask, Headmaster?”
Eisen shaked his head, “There is nothing else, Thank you very much Winston.”
Winston nodded as he bowed and quickly left Eisen’s office. Eisen looked at the sealed envelope right in front of him as he thought more about what Winston said.
‘Why would she send me a message through a sealed envelope instead of a telegraph message.’ Eisen thought to himself more as he resolved to read the message later, when he was sure that the entrance exam today was finished.
Sitting back down, Eisen began to work on his mountain of paperwork, patiently waiting for Wilhelm’s next message to him.
————————————————————————————
Within Silicon Valley Forest, On top of a large tree branch, Wilhhelm stood there watching what was occurring down below.
Wilhelm looked down as William, Theodore, Helios and Pyry dropped down to the hole to find and eliminate the Queen Silicon Spider while Dolian, Blake and Yuri would hold off the large crowd of spiders that were currently ascending the large tree that they were on.
To Wilhelm, their plan was indeed a bold plan, but it was clear to him that it was also a risky plan. Wilhelm decided that he would diligently watch and observe his students, and make sure that nothing bad happens to his students.
Shaking his head, Wilhelm thought about their chances of clearing their task. And if wIlhelm was to be sure, he began to think about William and his team individually and what they could bring when they fight the queen silicon spider.
Firstly was William Lark, since meeting him when he was interrogating him at the police, Wilhelm had nothing bad to say to William. He was not only kind and smart, but also a strong person, he needs to be a strong person if he survived and probably won fighting against Nyx. A criminal who has killed more hunters than any other criminal in the world.
That to Wilhelm solidifies William to someone that would be a wonderful Hunter.
Next was Theodore, Wilhelm knew that some people don’t have a last name but he knew that Theodore has a last name since he met his mother when he was looking for a weapon.
His real name was Theodore Hephaestus, son of Elise Vulcan and the late Eric Hephaestus.
When he found out that Theodore was going to be attending Grayfiel he was initially shocked, now him attending Grayfield was not surprising. Grayfield is the most famous academy to ever exist to this point, if anyone was asked what school they want to attend they would all say that they would want to attend Grayfield.
And Theodore was no different.
What did surprise him was the fact that Theodore would be attending Gryfield in both Hunter and manufacturing courses.
Attending two courses at the same time is a huge challenge for anyone to take, even for Wilhelm. He initially thought that there was a mistake about Theodore’s application so he asked Headmaster Eisen about his application to Grayfield.
The headmaster explained to him that he already spoke with Theodore and that there was indeed no mistake in his application.
In fact, Headmaster Eisen went as far as to give Theodore his certificate of recommendation.
Now as to what he saw in Theodore he doesn't know, but watching him work alongside someone like William did gave him an inkling as to why the headmaster gave his certificate to him.
Returning to the topic at hand, ignoring the fact that he didn’t write his family name while he was applying his application here in Grayfield did set off a few alarms inside of his head. But moving past that, Theodore is smart, despite also being slightly immature for a person his age.
His primary weapon is a gun that he made, he calls it a “Rifle” it can fire 6 shots before he has to reload. Now Wilhelm does not follow any technological breakthroughs in guns but he knows that what Theodore made was exceptional.
Gunther and Eric are going to like him.
Looking down once again, he saw that Team Dolian (Dolian, Blake and Yuri) were now fighting the spiders, all while avoiding the spider’s attacks.
They were a surprising team as they avoided and coordinated with each other in an organized and efficient way.
Returning his attention to the large hole in the middle, Wilhelm thought about William’s team and their prospects of defeating that queen silicon spider.
William and his team do have a lot of potential when it comes to teamwork. They have an actively developing team dynamic with each other. And all of them are in some way shape and form going to shock the world according to the Headmaster.
Now he doesn't get what Eisen was talking about but he will take his word and at least acknowledge that all of them would be lively students, and a clear headache for him.
Wilhelm also did think about the other two people that were with WIlliam and Theodore.
Helios and Pyry.
First, Helios comes from the western side of Kailan along the vast fields of the Caliban Territory. Formally known as the Apollo territory.
Helios uses a single handed short sword and is incredibly proficient with it, albeit with some flaws in his technique here and there. Not only that but he also doesn't seem to have a clearly defined sword style yet. Although Wilhelm would make sure to teach him a proper sword style for him to use.
Moving onto Pyry, he according to Oskar, was originally from the Wolf tribe, according to him, Pyry most likely left the tribe in search of higher education here in Grayfield along with the fact that it would also allow him to fight a lot of strong people.
Wilhelm would make sure to keep watch on Pyry and make sure that he doesn't get into trouble.
Shaking his head, Wilhelm chuckled as he thought about William and his team.
‘Their are all different, I'll give them that. Question is, would their differences let them tear each other apart or whether their differences unite all of them.’ Wilhelm thought to himself.
————————————————————————————
“William! On your left!”
Shifting his positioning, William turned to the left and saw a spider use its leg as a sword in an attempt to kill him. Easily dodging the attack and using his weapon, killed the spider right in front of him, he was able to kill it with minimal issue.
They've recently just jumped down the hole and surprisingly there weren't a lot of spiders here that attacked them. The most that those spiders did was wait and attack them when their backs were turned.
It seems as though fighting all of those spiders when they were still on the tree was worth it.
Now that their queen is directly threatened the spiders are getting more and more reckless.
And they would rely more and more on ambushes and surprise attacks.
Luckily for them they have Theodore’s keen eyesight and Pyry’s sharp hearing to make sure that surprise attacks are guaranteed to not happen.
“I told you spider freaks, Where! Is! Yours Queen!” Helios shouted as he struck down a spider with his sword.
Pyry grunted a bit as he heard Helios shouting, but William walked towards him and patted him on the shoulder and gave him a reassuring smile.
Pyry looked at him for a moment before sighing and nodding. He walked past me and went to Theodore.
William turned to his team and said.
“Alright guys, the queen is not here on the left side. Now we're taking the central path here in this colony or whatever this place is called.” William said.
Theodore nodded. “Got it, I hear you loud and clear.”
Pyry nodded as he looked at William.
Helios grunted as he heard what William said.
William and his team returned back to where they originally dropped from and went to the middle path.
As they entered they were greeted with five spiders that attacked them.
“There were five of them.” Theodore said.
“Yeah there were five, what's the deal with that?” Helios asked.
“Then most likely the spiders here must be protecting something. something important.” Theodore said.
WIlliam silently nodded at what Theodre said. When they took the left path they didn’t encounter a spider attacking them directly as the spider’s opted to attack them by ambushes and surprise attacks.
But, here in the middle path, they were now encountering a lot more spiders than they were anticipating.
Then most likely, Theodore’s hypothesis is true.
William and his team quickly tore through the small horde of spiders. William and his team were now starting to work as a team incredibly well.
With Helios’s incredible speed, allowing him to move and attack without having to worry about the spiders outmaneuvering them.
Pyry with his incredible use of ice and his skill with close quarters combat.
Theodore with his skill with his rifle and his keen eyesight was making sure to keep him well informed when he sees a weakness.
And finally with William and his good leadership skills to keep everyone working together as a unifying force.
Helios cut through all of the spiders like they were made out of paper.
“Too easy!” Helios exclaimed.
“Try not to jinx us.” Theodore said.
“Yeah yeah, I will.” Helios replied back.
By now, William and his team were now beginning to interact more and making small dynamics with each other.
“Pyry! Catch!” William said as he wrapped a spider and threw it at Pyry.
“Hmm.” Pyry hummed as he kicked the spider straight in the face, sending it back.
As the spiders were meticulously all killed off. William made sure to check up on each of his teammates.
“Are all of you alright?” William asked.
“I’m perfectly alright!”
“I’m fine.”
“Hmm…”
William nodded in satisfaction as he looked over deeper inside of the cave.
Right beside him, Theodore, Helios and Pyry also looked deeper inside of the cave.
There was a deep silence as they all looked inside of the cave. THen a low growl echoed through the cave.
“Did any of you also hear that?” William asked.
“No doubt about it.” Helios said as he also looked deeper inside of the cave. “It was most likely the queen that was growling at us.”
“Agreed.” Pyry said as he looked deeper at the cave.
William walked forward as he was closely followed behind by his team. Right beside him was Theodore who was making sure that his rifle was in top condition.
As they walked, wIlliam looked at Theodore before asking.
“So… How do you feel?” William asked.
Theodore looked at WIlliam, “Huh? What do you mean?” he said.
William chuckled, “Maybe I should have asked it better.” He said as he rubbed the back of his head. “What I am trying to say is that I’m asking you about how you are currently feeling about the mission.”
Theodore tilted his head as he looked at William. “Huh, why?”
WIlliam sighed as he looked down for a moment. “Maybe because deep down I don’t feel confident whether or not we could defeat that queen spider.” He said. “I put on a brave face to convince myself I could do it. But sometimes I ask, can I do it?”
THeodore raised one of his hands to his chin as he thought about what WIlliam said. “Well, I don’t think there’s any shame in being nervous. Not being sure whether or not the choices we made were right is part of what it means to be a person. So I don’t think you should lament about the what ifs. Instead, I believe you should follow through with your choices to the end, even if the ending is bittersweet.”
William was silent for a few moments before William was able to respond to what Theodore said. Helios was clapping right behind Theodore.
Helios looked at THeodore with a small smile on his face. “I am impressed. I never thought that someone like you would be able to say something so profound.”
Theodore scoffs, “I could be wise you know, I just don’t like it because I have to think a lot just to say the right words.”
Pyry who by that point was at the front of the group heard a low growl deeper inside of the cave. He motioned his hand to stop everyone.
William was first to react to what Pyry did. “What’s wrong Pyry?”
“Do you hear it?”
“Hear what?” Theodore asked.
“Growling.”
By that point everyone was now alert at what Pyry said. All four of them looked around them as they all drew out their respective weapons, except for Pyry.
As everyone was on high alert, Pyry was eerily calm as he watched his surroundings slowly taking in what was happening around him. His wolf ears were continually twitching uncontrollably as he patiently listened.
…
…
*Growl*
“You hear that?” William asked.
“Of course I did.” Theodore replied. “Why?”
“It’s near.” Pyry said as he walked forward.
Helios clicked his tongue as he looked forward. “Damn right it is. But where exactly?”
Pyry listened closely as he relied on his precise hearing to find where exactly the spider was. From the growling that they were hearing the spider was obviously near them. But the question remained, how close is the spider and where exactly is it?
Closing his eyes and listening closely, Pyry’s ears twitched as he listened closely.
The sounds and the growling was obviously near him , most likely in front of him. But how?
There was obviously nothing in front of him. Pyry listened closely once again.
The sound… It was near them, but not in front of him… above him.
…
Dammit!
Reacting immediately, Pyry stomped down his foot as he created several spikes of ice from the ground that struck whatever was above him.
And his instincts were proven right as all four of them saw the silhouette of the spider right above them.
All four of them instinctually moved out of the way and created some distance between them and the spider.
The spider was covered in thick armored plating that covered its entire body. Two sharp claws and mandibles at its front, and was covered in dark ominous red across its entire body.
It was Safe to say..
It was pretty freaking terrifying.
*Growl Growl Growl*
“Well, you look lovely. Shame we have killed you though.” Helios said.
Theodore aimed his rifle at the spider and fired, the spider reacted by blocking it by using its large body to take all of the hits.
Helios and Pyry both charged forward at the spider, Helios aimed his saber at the joints of the spider, while Pyry aimed his punches at the spider’s armored body.
The spider let out an ear piercing scream that caused Pyry to stop and hold his ears out in pain.
“Aughh!” Pyry shouted as he clutched his ears.
Seeing this the spider attempted to attack Pyry but charged at it aiming to swallow him whole.
But then it was suddenly stopped as several chains of wind were wrapped around the spider as William held down the spider.
“Damn!” William grunted because the spider was extremely strong. “For a queen, you are surprisingly heavy!”
“Theodore! Fill her up with lead!” William commanded.
“With pleasure!” Therodore shouted back as he unloaded his gun at the spider shooting it with a barrage of bullets.
The spider responded by raising one of its legs to block the volley of bullets aimed at it. But as the spider blocked itself, it unknowingly limited its field of vision something that both Helios and Pyry exploited as the two of them charged and let out a fury of attacks at the spider.
As Helios and Pyry sent their attacks at the spider, William ran around the spider as he created several ropes of wind and prepared to wrap it around the spider.
At the same time, Helios slashed at the spider as Pyry dodged an attack from the spider, before the spider let out an ear piercing screech that caused Puyry to fall to his knees.
The spider, seeing this as its opportunity to strike, aimed one of its legs at Pyry and attacked. Helios noticed this and quickly sent out a projectile of fire that was shaped like a crescent moon aimed at the spider. Moving quickly Helios was able to grab Pyry by the back of his neck and created a noticeable difference in distance between the two of them and the spider.
“I guess I need to keep my guard up and make sure that you don’t get yourself killed because of some high pitched sound” Helios said as he briefly looked at Pyry before looking back at the spider. “Is that all you’ve got! You big useless piece of Arachnid legs!”
Pyry quickly stood up as he also looked at the spider. “You shouldn't insult it. It will only make it angrier.”
Although the spider didn't understand what Helios said, it did know that he was talking about it, and it was something insulting. And it pissed it off.
The spider let out an ear piercing screech as it opened its sharp mandiles at the two of them.
Pyry’s wolf ears winced in pain, beside him Helios grinned like a madman.
“That's the point!” He shouted as he aimed his sword at the spider. “Come here!”
Pyry blankly looked at Helios for a moment, before sighing and focusing back at the spider. Cracking his knuckles, Pyry looked at the spider carefully.
As the spider charged at the two of them, Pyry created a wall of ice that blocked the large spider from hitting either him or Helios. Helios quickly moved out of the way and moved to the left side of the spider and attacked the spider.
At the same time William finally used the rope that was made out of wind and wrapped it at the neck of the spider. The spider immediately attempted to shake William off its back. As William applied more pressure to keep the spider in place the more the spider struggled.
“Pyry! I need a little help!” William said as he dropped the other end of the rope that was on his hands.
Pyry nodded as he ran and grabbed the other end of the rope that William dropped and began to pull. The two of them were able to keep the large spider in place for a short while before the spider suddenly stopped, causing both William and Pyry to drop to the floor.
The spider then began to move around and this time, both William and Pyry were now being thrown around by the spider.
As both William and Pyry were being thrown around like ragdolls, Theodore looked at what the spider was doing and clicked his tongue.
‘Dammit!’ Theodotre thought to himself. ‘By throwing those two around like ragdolls I can’t get a clear shot unless I risk hitting one of them.’
Then suddenly Helios struck the spider by its head as he struck downward, momentarily creating a opening for Theodore
Taking his chance Theodore aimed his rifle at one of the legs of the spider and pulled the trigger. The bullet moved out of the barrel of his rifle and successfully hit what he was targeting, a joint at the spider’s right leg.
The damage caused by the bullet caused the spider its leg as the bullet successfully dismembered the spider from its leg.
At the same time both William and Pyry released their hold on the rope as the two of them struck the ground, breathing heavily the two of them looked at the direction of where the spider was located.
Helios looked down at the spider aiming his saber at the spider's head, he was prepared to kill it if not only for the spider to suddenly move its body to the side and hit the walls of the caverns.
‘Augh!’ Helios grunted as he was momentarily stunned.
Quickly standing back up the spider aimed one of its legs at Helios and prepared to strike at him. Behind the spider, Pyry jumping from wall to wall was able to quickly climb up and deliver a strong downward kick at the spider.
The spider let out a pained screech as it was momentarily stunned by what Pyry did. It wasn't the end of it as William struck the spider at one of its eyes causing the spider to let out another painful screech that caused Pyry to cover his ears.
Helios quickly moved himself out of the wall and quickly went to Theodore to recover and analyze his situation.
Theodore saw Helios coming towards him as he quickly went to his bag and grabbed several medical supplies. As Helios came to him Theodore walked up to him as he quickly began to use and apply the medical supplies on his hands.
"Do you even know how to use those?” Helios asked as he took in heavy breaths.
Theodore chuckled as he applied the medical supplies on Helios. “Hey, I may not know much about treating wounds directly but I do know how to sew and apply a bandage.”
Helios chuckled. “At least that's something.” he said as he looked back at the spider as William and Pyry were fighting it.
Back to William and Pyry William jumped up as he dodged another attack from the spider, William looked up at the spider as he thought about what he should do.
Then Pyry went up to the spider and sent a strong and powerful strike at the spider, pushing it back for a few meters.
William went up to Pyry as the two of them looked at the spider.
“What do we do?” Pyry asked.
“I’m working on it.” William responded. “But for now we need to keep it occupied until Helios and Theo can help us.”
Pyry nodded as he looked at the spider that was currently crouched down and was looking at them. Pyry looked at the spider as he also crouched down and glared at the spider.
Then the spider lunged at him with both of its fangs aimed at him. Pyry immediately dodged the attack by dodging to the right.
At the same time William jumped up and went to the spider’s neck and plunged both of his daggers at the spider causing it to let out a painful screech of pain.
William smiled as he was able to temporarily injure the spider. This was followed up with Pyry coming in and sending a powerful punch at the spider in the head. Causing the spider to drop to the floor.
William smiled, but it quickly vanished as the spider quickly got up and suddenly shook causing William to jump away and to fall to the ground.
William landed at the ground and quickly looked at the spider and immediately he was forced to jump back and move as far away from the spider as it lunged at him. William was quickly cornered to the wall as he was quickly dodging the spider’s attacks.
‘Crap!Crap!Crap!” William thought to himself that he continually dodged the attacks of the spider.
The spider stopped attacking William as it was hit by Pyry again at its face causing the spider to be pushed back a couple of feet. The spider quickly re-balanced itself as it looked at both William and Pyry.
Although the spider couldn’t talk, the two of them could feel the hatred that was clearly oozing out of the spider. Then in a split moment the spider moved and lunged at the two.
Both William and Pyry readied themselves as the spider lunged at them both.
“Be ready!” William said as he braced himself drawing both of his blades out.
“I intend to.” Pyry responded as he prepared himself for the spider
Then… A blazing light suddenly appeared and struck the spider in the back. The spider looked behind it and there it saw none other than Helios.
Helios was currently holding onto his sword as it was currently lodged in the spider's back. Helios then suddenly unleashed a torrent of flames behind the spider's back, causing it to screech out in pain.
“Remember me you bastard?” Helios grinned as he asked the spider while looking at one of the spider’s eyes.
The spider quickly began to shake Helios off its back, but helios held a firm grip on his sword and continuously rebalanced himself. Sending out another torrent of flames on the spider’s back, Helios then grabbed a metal cylinder with a pin from his pocket and looked at it for a moment before grinning madly.
“Here is a present for you from Theodore!” Helios shouted as he pulled the pin and threw it right in front of the spider’s mouth before jumping away and quickly moving toward both William and Pyry.
At the same time the metal Cylinder that Helios placed inside of the spider’s mouth exploded.
Helios grinned, while William covered his eyes and Pyry winced in pain from the loud explosion.
“Are you alright? How’s your hand?” William asked as he briefly looked at Helios before looking back at the spider.
“I’ll be fine.” Helios said. “Our main priority should be to limit that thing's ability to move. We need a plan.”
“I have a couple.” William said.
“Good, we need to hear it,” Helios said.
“I doubt it would give us an opportunity to plan our next move.” Pyry said.
Helios waved him off. “Don’t worry, Theodore will cover that.”
And right on time several more metal cylinders fell down on the spider and exploded.
Then suddenly all of their radios that Theodorewe gave them suddenly light up as Theodore spoke through it.
“Don’t worry you guys, I got his!” Theodore said as he began to fire more shots at the spider. “Alright big guy, keep all your attention on me!”
As Theodore began to distract the spider, Helios turned to William and asked.
“So, you mind telling me what plans were floating inside of your head. We could probably use them right about now.” Helios said.
“I have one inside of my head that I’m confident might work.” William said.
“Tell us already.” Helios impatiently asked.
William looked at Pyry.” Tell me Pyry how much ice you can make before you need to rest.”
Pyry looked at him before responding. “A lot.”
William nodded “Good because we're going to need a lot of ice” he said before looking at Helios. “And a lot of fire.”
————————————————————————————
Meanwhile the spider lunged towards Theodore, Therodore responded by quickly taking a few steps back and firing at the large spider.
“Is that all you got!” Theodore said as he tried to keep the spider’s attention away from the others.
Dodging the spider's attacks once again Theodore grabbed several grenades in his bag and pulled the pin and put them on the ground and as the spider quickly gained speed and attacked Theodore, all he did was to quickly move back and smiled.
And at that moment the grenade that he placed earlier exploded. The dust from the explosion caused Theoore to temporarily block his eyes to avoid getting some dust into his eyes.
‘Note to self, make sure to add goggles into my equipment later.’ Theodore thought to himself as he looked at the direction of the spider.
Aiming back at the direction of the spider, Theodore looked closely, the dust that his grenade caused made it hard to see through it.
Then in an instant the spider emerged from the mist and lunged at Theodore.
Theodore immediately fired back as he began to dodge while making sure to keep as much distance between him and the spider.
‘Crap! I need to get as far away from this thing as possible!’ Thedore thought to himself as he continued to dodge the attacks of the spider.
Quickly moving out of the way from the spider’s attack, Theodore reacted quickly and grabbed another pair of metal cylinders with yellow markings on them.
‘If I remember correctly, Queen silicon spider’s are well known for their amazing eyesight. Knowing that…all I would need is something incredibly bright.’ Theodore thought as he grabbed the metal cylinder and pulled the pin.
Throwing it right in front of the spider, Theodore quickly covered his eyes as the spider shrieked out from the bright light.
Quickly jumping away from the spider Theodore quickly aimed his rifle at the direction of the spider and began to shoot in rapid succession. Many of the bullets didn't hit the spider since he simply aimed his rifle at the general direction of the spider and didn't recalibrate his aim to be more precise.
Theodore didn’t really care himself as all he was concerned about was to keep the spider from getting a chance to attack him again.
Theodore’s rifle quickly ran out of bullets as his rifle only has 10 bullets, and everytime he has to reload his rifle, he has to reload it one bullet at a time.
‘I should really put that on the list to improve on later.’ Theodore thought to himself as he began to reload his rifle as quickly as possible, making sure that he didn't make a single mistake.
As Theodore was quickly reloading his rifle he quickly recovered and looked at Theodore with pure hatred.
Theodore began to sweat as he looked at the spider. ‘Don’t give me that look.’ He thought as he quickly began to reload his rifle slightly faster.
The spider quickly began to charge at Theodore readying its mandibles aimed towards him.
‘Come!’ Theodore shouted inside of his head as the spider charged at him. Theodore was already preparing himself to move if he needed to.
Luckily for him he didn’t need to as the spider was suddenly struck by Helios who came out of nowhere.
Quickly turning around and looking at Theodore, Helios shouted. “No time to explain! Listen to William, he'll tell you the rest!”
And with that Helios looked at the sword that he lodged inside of the spider, he grinned to himself while looking at it. Looking down at the spider Helios took a step back as he saluted, waving goodbye at the spider.
“Bye, bye, little spider.” Helios mocked the spider and dropped down making sure to avoid the spider’s legs as getting hit by them would certainly be painful.
The spider began to attack Helios as he began to doge the attacks. Helios was weaving through all of the spider’s attacks almost as if he was dancing. Internally Helios was actually happy that the spider was attacking Helios.
‘Good, all according to plan! Keep looking down you big damn insect.’ Helios thought to himself as he continued to dodge all of the spider’s attacks.
And When the spider was about to use its legs to attack Helios again, Pyry came and jumped up and punched the sword that was still lodged inside of the spider’s head with all his might.
As Pyry hit the sword, the word was dug deeper than ever before. The spider was completely stunned as it fell to the ground, it was also in so much pain to the point that screeching only made it worse so it chose not to scream.
Pyry looked down at the spider and silently hummed to himself
“Hmm” Pyry hummed to simself.
Grabbing the sword that was now deeply lodged inside of the spider, Pyry using his strength pulled it out, but not without some difficulty.
Now that the sword was in his hands he dropped down and moved to Helios, handing his sword back to him.
Helios quickly grabbed his sword and quickly inspected it, there were some noticeable dents on his sword but nothing to major that would require immediate repairs or replacement.
Pyry looked at Helios for a moment before looking at the spider.
‘As expected. Pyry thought.
‘I’m glad that I can still use this’ Helios thought to himself as he finished inspecting his sword,‘This is the only sword that my family has left.’
Pyry nudged Helios, silently gesturing at the direction of the spider.
“It’s standing back up.” Pyry said as he entered in a fighting stance.
Helios sighed, “ I guess you and WIlliam were right. That thing is certainly hard to kill.” he said, aiming his sword at the spider that was now slowly standing back up.
“We keep it busy?” Pyry asked.
“Absolutely!” Helios shouted as he rushed forward.
————————————————————————————
Theodore looked at Helios and Pyry for a moment as the two of tem began to fight the large spider. Right behind him, WIlliam walked up to him and tapped his shoulder.
“Hey, I know you have a lot of questions but you need to trust me!” William said as he grabbed Theodore’s hand. “Follow me!’
Trusting wIlliam’s word, Thedore and WIlliam ran as the two of them got as far away from both Helios and Pyry as possible, THeodore looked at WIlliam before he asked.
“So What’s the plan?” Theodore asked.
Willim turned to Theodore and smiled.
“Simple, I’ll tell you as we run!”
William told Theodore what his plan was, and as he listened to William’s insane plan, a large smile emerged from Theodore’s face.
Looking at William, Theodore smiled as he grabbed his rifle and checked it out.
‘I don’t see anything that would break.’ Theodore thought to himself. ‘But to make sure, I’ll check it out again when all of this is over.’
“So, Where are those two?” THeodore asked.
“They should be arriving here in a moment.” William said.
As he said that, the two of them could hear several loud explosions and something breaking like glass. William noded to himself as he prepared to execute his plan.
“There here.” William said.
“I know.” Theodore said
And there they were Helios and Pyry, the two of them have some cuts and minor bruises but nothing major.
Helios rushed by Theodore as wIlliam followed him. Pyry ran towards Theodore.
Theoore raised his rifle and his rifle at the large spider that was behind Pyry and fired .
The bullets bounced off of the spider as Theodore moved out of the way and grabbed two silver cylinders with red stripes. Pulling both pins in both Cylinders and throwing them at the large spider.
“Pyry, cover your ears!” Theodore shouted.
Hearing Theodore, Pyry immediately covered his ears as the two silver cylinders exploded and covered the large spider in a large explosion of fire.
Theodore covered his eyes as he looked closely, he knew that the spider was tough and can most likely survive whatever he threw at it.
‘But I can make sure that I could set it up to be killed.’ Theodore thought to himself.
As he looked closer into the flames, There he saw the silhouette of the spider.
THen all of the sudden the large spider bursted out of the fire and threw at Theodore something.
THeodore used his rifle to block what the spider threw at him and when he blocked the projectile, Thedore felt a sudden heat enveloping his rifle.
‘That’s impossible! That heat! it isn’t just some kind of projectile, It’s like molten iron!’ Theodore thought to himself as he threw his rifle away from his arms, not risking his arms from getting burnt.
But by throwing the rifle away, Theodore now made himself open to any attack that could come towards him. Something that the spider immediately used to its advantage. as it lunged at wIlliam and attacked him.
“Oh No!’ THeodore shouted as he tried to dodge, but he knew that he couldn’t move fast enough to dodge the attack.
He was saved by Pyry, who was able to save him by punching the spider away.
Looking back at Theodore and then at the spider. The armor that was covering the spider’s body has now more or less been damaged to the point that it is unrecognizable when it began to fight them off of them at the start.
The once terrifying and ominous armor was now reduced to a very cracked and dented armor that surrounded the spider.
Theodore looked at the spider more closely and saw that at the legs the armor was entirely gone…
“The legs, it’s gone, the armor, almost as if it was used.” Theodore said as he cautiously looked at the spider.
“Or thrown.” Pyry said.
Turning back and looking at him Pyry asked. “Can you still fight?” He asked.
Theodore weakly smiled but nodded. “Yeah, I can, although I no longer have a gun.”
“You have your arms and legs, so long as you have those two you don't need anything more.” Pyy said.
“Easy for you to say.” Theodore said. “Ugh, this is going to suck I just know it.”
Theodore grabbed his bag and began to search inside and grabbed several more cylinders with red and yellow stripes on them.
“Pyry, whenever I say it, cover your ears, got it?” THeodor said.
Pyry nodded as the spider got up and charged towards the two of them.
Pyyr and Theodre immediately moved out of the way, each of them moving in completely separate directions to confuse the spider.
Theodore pulled one of the pins on a yellow striped cylinder and threw it at the spider.
“Pyry! Ears!”
Pyry immediately covered his ears as the metal cylinder exploded causing a loud and deafening sound accompanied by an incredibly bright light that covered Pyry’s vision.
Recovering quickly that the spider, Pyry quickly mo3ed and struck the spider's legs making sure that the spider could no longer use its melting armor as projectiles by using his ice to forcibly cool the armor down.
Theodore pulled another cylinder, this time a cylinder with red stripes and threw it at the spider.
“Pyry! Ears!”
Moving quickly he covered his ears as The loud explosion was followed by a large blast of fire.
Moving quickly, he used his ice to quickly extinguish the flames before the spider’s armor could melt and use them to throw at them .
THe large spider looked at Pyry before lunging at him. But before it could even get close to him The spider was suddenly struck in the back by WIliam, who came down from the top.
Quickly making a long rope of wind and wrapping it tightly in the neck.
“Pry! Theo! Catch!” William shouted as he threw them two incredibly long ropes made entirely out of wind.
The two of them immediately grabbed the ropes knowing the significance of the rope into their plans.
Theodore and Pyry began to tie the rope onto as many sturdy and strong objects that they could find and use it to keep the large spider in one place.
Back to Willam, he was currently busy wrapping the rope that he made earlier around the spider’s body and making sure that it was secure enough.
When he was now confident that the spider could not escape from the rope wIlliam jumped down and ran towards Pyry.
Nodding at him, Pyry released his hold onto the rope and ran towards the spider.
As for William, he quickly took Pyry’s place and made sure to keep his hold onto the rope as much as possible.
‘Alright, everything seems to be going our way so far, let’s just hope that the two of you do your parts well.’ WIlliam thought to himself as he held onto the rope. ‘Pyry, Helios, the success of this plan hinges on you two.’
Pyry ran towards the large spider, making sure to dodge all of the attacks that the spider sent at him.
Knowing his task Pyry didn’t bother to attack back but instead came to one of the spider’s legs and using his magic, completely froze one of the spider’s legs and began to freeze the other legs of the spider.
The spider, seeing that its own legs were being frozen, attempted to break out its frozen leg by brute force but quickly realized that it could break out due to it being already exhausted by fighting William and the others.
Thus the spider attempted to use one of its legs to break the ice that covered its frozen leg.
Seeing this Pyry responds by sending a strong kick at the spider, causing it to stagger where it stood as Pyry returned to his task of freezing its legs .
One by one, each of the spider’s legs were frozen as the spider’s mobility was heavily impacted as it could barely move.
Not only that, the spider also couldn't think as Pyry continually punched and kicked the spider whenever the spider tried to do anything.
Pressing his own radio, Pyry said. “Helios! You have a clear shot.”
And above Pyry and the spider was Helios alongwith Dolian, Blake, and YUri as they were also looking down at the spider. As he was looking down at the spider he aimed his sword down at the spider and prepared his last attack at it.
“I would be impressed if you survived this.” Helios said “But I don’t think that it would happen.”
But before he could launch his attack the spider began to violently shake around. Causing Helios to temporarily stop and look down.
“Uh oh. This looks bad.” Yuri said beside Helios.
“Of course it is.” Blake said.
Dolian looked down at the spider as it was violently moving around slowly breaking the ice that was keeping it in place. Not only that, the spider was beginning to pull on the ropes causing both THeodore and William to tighten their grip on their ropes in an attempt to keep the spider in place.
“Looks like the spider slowly breaking out of this place.” Dolian noted.
Helios clicked his tongue. “Damn, forgive me for immediately requesting this after helping you three, but I need you three to go down there and help Pyry keep that spider in one place.”
Dolian looked at his two teammates and asked. “So do you both wanna go down there as well?”
Blake sighed as he looked down at the spider. “Might as well.”
Yuri chuckled, “No worries pal we get this.” He said to Blake, causing him to grumble.
Dolian and his two teammates dropped down at the spider, Dolian using his cane and cards, Blake using his katana and knives, and Yuri with his pistols and fist.
Pyry looked at the three of them and nodded. “Thank you, I appreciate the help.”
Dolian nodded, “No worries, Helios told us to help you keep this spider in its place.”
Blake grunted as he stabbed the spider in one of its eyes. “Besides we came this far into the mission, we can’t fail now.”
Yuri laughed as he fired his pistols at the spider. “Come on Blake, just admit it, You like fighting as much as I do.”
“I do not.”
“Whatever you say.”
As Pyr makes sure that the ice that he re applied was immensely fortified, Dolian and his teammates were keeping the spider busy by keeping the spider’s attention away from breaking out of its place and focusing more on defending itself.
Eventually Pyry was confident that the spider couldn't break out of his own ice.
Pyry looked at Dolian and the other and said.
“It’s done! Get out of there, Now!” Pyry said
Dolian and his teammates immediately dispersed and ran away from the large spider.
“Helios! It’s done!” Pyry said.
And in an instant, a large torrent of flames engulfed the spider and struck the spider in the head.
The force of the attack caused everyone to cover their eyes.
As the smoke cleared, Helios stood atop o a dead and burned body o a spider.
Looking at the Helios grinned.
“Well, safe to say all of us are going to be classmates right? We should celebrate later.”
