Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1041: Part 2: Diana Walter

From MC's Perspective:

The colossal white hexagonal aircraft arrived at Yellow River Academy in mere seconds. The once bright blue sky was instantly obscured by its imposing shadow. At the academy entrance, students and staff stood in stunned disbelief, their eyes fixed on the monstrous behemoth.

Even the academy's flying creatures emitted frightened screeches as a wave of fear rippled through the air. For a moment, panic gripped everyone as they imagined an impending attack. Hidden magic lords, residing in their subspace, were also roused from their seclusion.

"Calm down, everyone. We have a very important guest from the Mage Union visiting us. There's no need to panic," the dean's voice echoed clearly throughout the academy.

A collective gasp swept through the crowd. Most had only heard tales of the Mage Union, a legendary institution located in a distant region. Seldom did news from there reach the outside world.

I stood beside the dean, my heart pounding as I gazed up at the awe-inspiring sight.

Inside the aircraft, Diana Walter, clad in white, became aware of their presence. "Wait here," she instructed her crew before vanishing into thin air.

I am looking at the glass, hoping for a glimpse of what is to come. Suddenly, a woman in pristine white armor materialized before us.

Her inky black hair and eyes contrasted sharply with her pale skin. Towering at six feet tall, she exuded an otherworldly aura.

Yet, to my astonishment, I detected no trace of mana around her. She moved with the effortless grace of a mortal, defying gravity with every step.

A sense of dread washed over me. I didn't need my system to confirm my suspicions. This woman was a formidable force, far surpassing even the dean in terms of intimidation.

The old man dean's heart pounded with shock, but his outward appearance remained composed. Years of interacting with magic lords had forged his nerves into steel, preventing any outward display of weakness.

"Lord, we are honored by your presence," he said politely, using the formal title to avoid any offense.

Diana Walter smiled graciously. "Lead the way. I have limited time and other places to visit." Her gaze fell on the young man standing beside the dean, and a flicker of surprise crossed her internal thoughts.

"I can't judge his level," she mused silently.

The dean led Diana Walter towards the Dean Tower, with me following closely behind. He had granted me special permission to accompany him.

Below, students and staff alike watched the unfolding scene with astonishment. Vincent Carey, standing beside the dean, was a familiar face to many. Those with sharper eyes quickly realized this event must be somehow connected to him.

Some students immediately began sharing the news online, while others focused their attention on capturing images of the colossal white aircraft. Even the staff, having initially been overwhelmed by the spectacle, recovered their composure enough to join the photo frenzy.

...

We reached the top floor of the Dean Tower in a few strides. The dean gestured towards the main seat, inviting Diana to sit. She nodded in acceptance, her gaze sweeping across the room. While the Dean Tower posed no magical threat, she sensed countless eyes peering in from the academy's depths.

With a subtle snap of her fingers, an invisible barrier enveloped the room, blocking any potential eavesdropping, even from the most powerful magic lords. The dean broke out in a cold sweat, realizing the extent to which his conversations had been monitored.

Both the dean and I stood before her. The dean, out of respect for her position, declined to sit. My heart pounded in my chest as I stood motionless.

Once satisfied with the room's isolation, Diana began to speak. "It seems only one of the competition winners is present. I won't have time to visit the other academy, so please inform the level-6 wizard about this opportunity," she said. Turning her attention to me, she continued, "The Mage Union's offer is more beneficial for a level-5 wizard than a level-6."

"You are Vincent Carey, right? The winner of the level-5 group," she asked, looking at me.

"Yes, my lord," I replied.

"Good. For you, the Mage Union offers a spot as an exchange student. You can study at any academy in a Super Large Nation," she explained. "However, this isn't a free opportunity. After completing your studies, you'll join the Mage Union's Special Program. Many others will do the same."

Excitement surged through me. Who wouldn't want to study in a Super Large Nation? But her mention of a Special Program puzzled me.

"Special Program?" I muttered.

The dean's eyes lit up. He clearly understood the implications of the Special Program.

"If you have any doubts, feel free to ask," Diana said with a smile.

"What will I be doing in the Special Program?" I inquired.

The old man dean remained silent, opting against speculation.

"I can't disclose the specifics at this time. If you have reservations, you can decline the offer," Diana replied.

The dean appeared surprised by my caution. Meanwhile, I realized my current position and understood I couldn't afford to turn down this opportunity.

"I accept the offer," I declared.

"Excellent. The Mage Union will send details about the exchange student program within a few days. You'll be able to choose from a list of academy institutions and courses. The Mage Union will cover all your study expenses," Diana explained.

"Is there anything you want to know more about?" she asked.

"No, I believe not," I replied.

"The level-6 wizard has an opportunity to explore the ruins of an Ancient Magic Lord. You will receive the details about the location and timing later," Diana stated.

"This concludes our meeting. I must depart," she announced.

The dean and I thanked her for her time. Diana nodded, vanished into thin air, reappeared next to the white hexagonal aircraft, and instructed the crew to leave. With that, the colossal vessel turned and disappeared from sight.

Meanwhile, I stood frozen in place, my mind racing to process everything that had just transpired.
