NOVEL WEB Chapter 9: Plan Failed Successfully
Suddenly a silhouette appears to emerge from the dark, it says:
"What! The! Hell! Are you doing?".
As the trio looked at the person standing before them with great intensity the silhouette walked through the darkness and the shimmer of light from a half-open window shone on the anonymous person's face, while still standing in a 'combat position' the Agents of Hypotenuse trio's face goes from looking intense to jaw dropping to the floor as they realized the person watching their entire 'act' from the dark, was none other than Abhi himself.
Tring! Tring! Tring! Before anyone could utter another word the school bell went off and students started gathering inside the class immediately. The trio took advantage of the moment and blended in with the crowd while also trying to avoid eye contact with him as they sat as far away from Abhi as possible.
"I can't believe I just did that, No way I was rhyming in rhythm about exposing Abhi…. In front of him!" Thought Kevin to himself while curling up into a ball in the corner of the class.
"No! No! This did not just happen. I was literally screaming "We can finally see what is Abhi's last name." In front of him". Thought Dep while she lightly banged the bench she was sitting on in frustration.
"I will forever cherish the days that are not today, for the embarrassment I faced… was unfathomable." Veer did not seem to be over his poet arc.
Soon everyone settled in their places, just like the trio some other people formed groups and switched places from their original seating placements in the morning. All were far more familiar with each other and the seeds of friendships were already starting to sprout. But among all this, Abhi Sat alone, on a bench big enough for 4 people to sit, he was alone with no one else beside him.
The next period's teacher barged in putting an end to the gossip and murmurs amongst students and the lectures began once again.
The past with nothing notable happening, but as soon as the last school bell rang, and the classes were dismissed, The trio quickly displaced out of the school premises and entered the street outside the school gate.
"God I wish I could turn back time, Or at least erase memories." Said Dep.
"Well, I'm just never going to return to this school ever again." Said Veer.
"Yup, I'm outta here for good." Said Kevin.
"Wait! Hold up." A voice sounded from the back.
"Is someone calling us?" asked Dep. Then the Three of them turn back in shock to see Abhi standing behind them gasping for air.
"Come on guys, I have been shouting at you all for so long I had to run to catch up."
All three of them look at each other with their eyes filled with a silly look of tension and then they reply to Abhi in unison with a robotic monotone voice;
"Oh Hi, Abhi. Nice to see you again."
"Hey, huff! So… wassup? Are you guys waiting for your bus or are some of your homes nearby at walking distance." Asked Abhi while still being gassed out.
"Um… Not really, we can just walk home, it's not that far but we have a car coming to pick us up." Replied Dep anxiously.
"Damn, that's great." Said Abhi.
"....."
"....."
"....." Half a minute passed and no one said a word.
Abhi decided to bite the bullet and ask his mind, breaking the awkward silence he said:
"So… I'm not exactly sure what happened in the classroom just before the break ended, but I'm sorry if I somehow offended you guys."
The trio exchange a confused expression with each other, but suddenly Veer whispers something to Dep:
"This seems like a perfect opportunity for game, 3Gs: Gaslight Gatekeep Girlboss".
"Noted," replies Dep in a low soft voice.
"Oh, it's alright Abhi, no big deal my man we were just startled when you just spawned out of the darkness ha ha." Said Veer in an over-the-top tone with excessive hand movements, perhaps he has Italian origins…
"Yeah-yeah, it's not a biggie." Said Kevin going with the flow and following the same excessive hand movements to emphasize his words.
"Ah great; thanks guys you are too kind." Said Abhi
"Don' worry bout it cuh, we chill like that." Said Dep while peaking the Over-the-top tone and the absurdly excessive hand movements.
"Though I had a question, what did you mean by "We can finally see what is Abhi's last name." and some other things about last names as well."
"....." The awkward silence came back for round two.
"Ok we should just make our confessions, there is no point in hiding it anymore." Said Dep while looking and Kevin and Veer.
"Alright I guess there is no other choice" Said Veer.
"Yeah, You know what to say right Dep?" Said Kevin while glaring at Dep with his eyes squinting."
Dep subtly nodded, she then turned her focus to Abhi and said:
"See we were just very curious about why you were hiding your last name. Like you didn't just hide it in the intro but avoided talking about it with us at lunch as well."
"Also after you revealed you are from Rakvill, the mysterious aura around you just enthralled us even more." Said Kevin.
"We apologize for budding into your privacy, but you suddenly running away when asked about your last name just put the last nail in the coffin. Our curiosity took control." Said Veer.
"Oh, so did you guys secretly look into the teacher's register to look for my name?"
"Perhaps…" Said Kevin.
"And was that Spy posing part of the act or something ha ha." Replied Abhi.
"...."
"Come on it was pretty funny ha ha." Abhi Chorteled at his own comment.
"Yeah, ha… ha…" The trio awkwardly followed the laugh.
"Ok, so did any of you get to look at the register and realize what my last name was?" Asked Abhi.
