Beams of laser swept through the void of space, detonating one nuclear weapon after another as they approached.

The Ghidorah's Wings had detected these weapons long before they reached it. In response, it unleashed an infinite radiance from its body, obliterating all its adversaries.

Even the occasional missile that slipped through was promptly annihilated by slight adjustments to its laser's trajectory.

Thousands of nuclear warheads were destroyed within seconds. The Ghidorah's Wings, a radiant beacon of destruction emitting relentless lasers, incinerated all human resistance in its path.

It aimed to descend upon the Earth. But Earth refused to welcome it.

Hundreds of satellites opened fire, unleashing their payloads of nuclear missiles toward the descending Ghidorah's Wings.

In low Earth orbit, within a thousand-kilometer radius centered on the projected impact site, all nuclear strike satellites focused their fire on the target—a beast still thousands of kilometers above Earth.

From the satellites' launch bays, waves of nuclear missiles poured out. These compact warheads, each with yields in the kiloton range, were fired at rates of more than a dozen per second, hurtling toward their target from all directions.

Clack, clang!

One satellite exhausted its payload, only for the next to continue the barrage.

The second wave of missiles was no less numerous than the first. Yet, the Ghidorah's Wings launched a second wave of intercepting lasers—

The same lasers, the same method.

In the vacuum of space, no one could see the path of light.

One by one, the second wave of nuclear missiles was intercepted and destroyed. Not a single warhead managed to detonate successfully or inflict any damage on the Ghidorah's Wings.

Roar!

The monster unleashed a silent bellow, as if mocking humanity's futile efforts.

It ceased its omnidirectional interception and resumed its descent. At this moment, its altitude was 3,500 kilometers.

It was on the verge of breaching the atmosphere.

In the East Asia Monster combat command bases, several high-ranking officers stared at the screen displaying the Ghidorah's Wings, at a loss for words.

Lasers… On Earth, one could study the patterns of Godzilla's beam attacks, but in space, where light paths were invisible…

There was no way to defend against this. No way to deduce a pattern.

Moreover, judging by the precision of the strikes, the Ghidorah's Wings's power was far more terrifying than Godzilla's. Its lasers didn't merely sweep indiscriminately; they seemed to deliver pinpoint strikes with meticulous accuracy.

In space, this kind of weapon was insurmountable. Within the atmosphere, though, an electromagnetic railgun might work—it was large enough, and atmospheric interference could weaken the lasers. The railgun might even neutralize them.

But simply allowing the Ghidorah's Wings to breach the atmosphere unchallenged? If it couldn't be dealt with swiftly in the atmosphere, the casualties would be catastrophic.

That was absolutely unacceptable!

Humanity had already suffered enough. The people couldn't endure more.

Think! Think of something! Quickly!

There might be a way!

General Zhang suddenly conceived a plan that could work against the beast. He hurriedly prepared to issue the order:

"Have the satellites' nuclear missiles—"

"Commander! We did it! We hit the Ghidorah's Wings!"

Before General Zhang could finish his sentence, an ecstatic subordinate interrupted him. The general turned to the screen and saw the Ghidorah's Wings's wings flailing desperately amidst the flames.

The third wave of nuclear weapons surged toward the extraterrestrial intruder from low Earth orbit, closing in to within 100 kilometers of the Ghidorah's Wings.

Ghidorah spread its massive wings wide, preparing to unleash its most powerful lasers to obliterate the incoming warheads.

The lasers converged—and at that moment, the nukes detonated.

Within 100 kilometers of Ghidorah's Wings and even farther beyond, up to a thousand kilometers, thousands of nuclear weapons along this trajectory exploded prematurely, far out of range to harm the creature.

BOOM!!!

Though space is silent, the relentless flashes of fiery explosions created an awe-inspiring spectacle.

Blazing spheres of heat expanded endlessly in the vacuum of space, unrestrained by atmospheric pressure that would normally compress them on Earth. The fireballs grew ever larger, from dense beginnings to diffuse ends.

The explosions stretched into an unbroken wall of flame, a fiery barrier tens of kilometers thick in space. Heat waves swept across satellites still firing their payloads and even down toward the atmosphere below.

It was a breathtaking sight. But it was important to remember—these nuclear warheads had not struck their target. They had detonated preemptively.

The Ghidorah's Wings could not comprehend the logic behind this tactic, but it didn't matter. It continued its descent.

To Ghidorah's Wings, the massive nuclear fireballs, spanning tens of kilometers in the vacuum of space, posed no threat whatsoever. They couldn't even slow it down for a second.

A Ghidorah's Wings pressed on, but then—

A single nuclear missile appeared beside it.

Then another. And another. Dozens of missiles suddenly surrounded it.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Dozens of nuclear warheads collided with their target and detonated in unison, their explosive heat engulfing the Ghidorah's Wings.

The silence of space was absolute, but the fiery crimson barrier formed by the simultaneous detonations was no less impactful.

On the ground below, fleeing humans gazed skyward at the crimson blaze beyond the atmosphere.

"Did we… succeed?"

"We did it! We hit it!"

Seeing the flames engulfing the golden monster, people's panic subsided slightly.

Old Li, clutching his child, let out a long sigh of relief. He too looked skyward, silently praying for humanity's weaponry to prevail.

"Please… we have to win this. Please!"

Whoosh!

From within the flames, something burst out.

Once again, dozens of nuclear missiles homed in on the target, triggering another round of violent explosions.

Thousands, tens of thousands of nuclear missiles locked onto the Ghidorah's Wings, relentlessly pursuing and striking it.

The Ghidorah's Wings fought back, firing its lasers at full power to intercept the incoming weapons. However, its imprecise scatterfire couldn't destroy all of them. Several missiles managed to hit, delivering direct blows.

The wings' surface simmered, vaporized metal forming gaseous trails in the void.

As anticipated, the widespread nuclear detonations in space disrupted Ghidorah's Wings radar systems. The infinite expansion of nuclear fireballs created an environment of electromagnetic chaos.

In this storm of supercharged electromagnetic waves, all radar systems, including Ghidorah's Wings, became useless. Its sensory systems were effectively jammed.

Meanwhile, over East Asia, a second Ghidorah's Wings was being attacked in the same manner. Two Ghidorah's Wings were being critically damaged simultaneously by the same strategy.

"This… It's already being implemented?"

General Zhang, who had been midway through explaining his plan, stopped speaking. Just as he had conceived a countermeasure, Skynet had already executed a fully-formed operation.

He sighed, admitting to himself that no human commander could match the speed of artificial intelligence.

Realizing the Ghidorah's Wings's ability to intercept nuclear weapons, Skynet had devised a counterplan within mere minutes—a plan that could critically wound the monster.

Truly, this was the power of advanced artificial intelligence, living up to its name and reputation.

However, despite the damage inflicted, the Ghidorah's Wings was not yet defeated.

The battle was far from over.
