Chapter 1: Birth of King Ghidorah! (1)
“Another sign appeared in heaven: behold, a great, fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven diadems on his heads.”
- Revelation 12:3.
…
40 million kilometers away from Earth, aboard the Venus Spin-Stabilized Space Station, a young man with black hair was watching the latest video transmitted from Earth.
“The enemy of humanity, the colossal beast that annihilated the entire Far East… Godzilla. Not good, this is really not good.”
Sitting in his chair, he felt worried.
His hometown was in East Asia, and it was highly likely to be Godzilla’s next target. The stronger Godzilla became, the more concerned he grew.
‘I hope my family is safe.’
He became engrossed in the video playing on the tablet, gradually ignoring his surroundings. Until a blonde, attractive young girl walked up to him, tapped his shoulder, and suddenly spoke.
“Hey, what are you watching?”
She wanted to startle him, but the young man wasn’t easily startled. He simply removed the girl’s hand from his shoulder and replied:
“I’m watching the latest Earth report.”
The connection between Venus Space Station and Earth’s internet wasn’t great, and large files could only be transmitted during specific hours each day.
Live broadcasts were the same; unscripted ones were fine and could be transmitted anytime. However, for things like 8K and 16K quality, specific times were necessary.
The young man was a proponent of ultra-high definition, so he didn’t watch the live broadcast being relayed from Venus. Instead, he patiently waited for Earth to send over the 8K version of the speech video.
“The latest report? Oh, you mean the speech that was supposed to happen today? What’s the matter? What did the speech say?”
The girl wasn’t very interested in this, but she was intrigued by what exactly the young man found interesting in it.
“What else could it be? It’s about Godzilla, of course.”
“Oh, what did the speech say about Godzilla?”
The young man explained to her the content of the speech, and once the girl realized what interested him, she lost interest.
“Hey, why aren’t you taking this seriously? This is a huge matter concerning the survival of humanity. Don’t make it sound so casual.”
He countered her a bit, and the girl responded with an indifferent retort.
“It’s just something concerning the survival of humanity. What we’re doing now also concerns the survival of humanity, you know. By the way, speaking of what we’re doing…”
Suddenly, the girl’s face turned pale. She remembered something. She grabbed the young man’s hand suddenly and said:
“Damn! I forgot! They just approved our demolition plan up there! The Commander wants us to come over!”
“Huh?!”
Upon hearing this, the young man jumped up from his chair. Alongside the girl, they rushed towards the control area of the ground probe vehicle in the Venus space station.
The Venus orbital space station was quite large, the second largest in human history. It was even bigger than the Moon space station. Crossing the station horizontally took quite a bit of effort. By the time they arrived, everyone in the space station was already there.
The entire station had around several hundred people, and they were all present here. The only ones left waiting were the two of them.
“Edward, Yang, I was thinking of whether I should use the broadcasting system to scold you guys. I didn’t expect you to show up before the deadline, huh? Congratulations, you’re making progress.”
The head of the Venus Space Station Research Group, who was also the station commander and a black-haired beauty, sarcastically commented on the two tardy individuals.
Faced with this sarcasm, the two felt a bit embarrassed, but they found a place to sit down.
She didn’t say much more, and the commander didn’t continue with the mockery. After all, everyone was present, and wasting more time wouldn’t be ideal.
This mission, in a sense, is still an urgent one. We can’t waste any more time.
“Now that everyone is here, let’s begin.”
The black-haired woman opened the main screen of the ground probe control area.
After a brief loading, the main screen displayed an image taken by the main camera of the largest exploration vehicle currently stationed on Venus.
A colossal alloy gate adorned with some blurry sculptures.
Wait, an alloy gate? Isn’t it on Venus? How could there be an alloy gate on Venus?
Could it be… extraterrestrial civilization?
Everyone in the room turned their gaze toward the main screen. Although the screen presented such an explosive piece of news about extraterrestrial civilization, no one was surprised. They had already seen this gate many times, and there was nothing left to astonish them.
Every person on the space station knew about the remnants of extraterrestrial civilization on Venus. However, on Earth, this was something known to only a very, very small number of people.
If the image captured by this exploration vehicle were to be sent back to Earth openly, it would likely trigger a discussion second only to that of Godzilla.
Unfortunately, this news cannot be disclosed.
Because this news is tied to a civilization destroyed by monsters.
If this were to be sent back to Earth and made public, the fear of Godzilla would probably increase even further.
By that time, even the assurances given by the United Government earlier would surely not prevent outbreaks of chaos.
So, the situation here cannot be disclosed.
“Everyone has seen this many times, right? This colossal steel gate is our final obstacle. According to records, as long as we open it, we can conduct a formal exploration of the monsters inside.”
“Based on the remnants left behind by the Venusians on the Maxwell Mountains, we know that this is the location where they sealed King Ghidorah.”
“Next, we just need to blast it open, and we can obtain firsthand information about the monsters. This will be crucial data for us humans to confront Godzilla and future extraterrestrial monsters.”
“Exactly as planned.”
“Teams six through ten, you are responsible for launching and controlling the new unmanned exploration vehicle carrying sufficient explosives into the Maxwell Mountains.”
“Teams one through three, your task is to install the existing explosives. You must install them at several suitable locations.”
“Teams four and five will conduct eleven explorations to survey the surrounding geological environment. No mistakes are allowed.”
“This detonation plan is tied to the future of all humanity. We must succeed! Let’s begin!”
The various personnel in the ground probe control area of the space station started their work.
This was a task they had been anticipating for eleven years. Since they officially discovered the gate containing King Ghidorah eleven years ago, everyone had prepared for this moment.
Fifteen hours later, a countdown appeared on the large screen.
Countdown to Gate Detonation…
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One,
Zero!
*Boom!*
