God of Systems: Maker of Heroes and Villains

Chapter 281: Weird Fish.

Barou rushed toward his mother and gingerly supported her back so she didn't fall.

"Bring those guys from the church of medicine! Fast!!" he screamed as he looked up at Mathew but his bother simply looked at the queen like he wanted her to actually die.

To his surprise, even his mother pushed him away, "NO! Don't touch me. There's no reason for me to live if I don't get to see my son become the Emperor. No reason at all."

Mathew saw a glint in her eyes as she tired to hold in a smirk but when he turned to look at Barou, he could tell that the idiot brother in front of him was just purely concerned.

"She's acting Barou." he said, but Barou glared at him.

"Can't you see her bleeding? She's your mother too!!" he yelled before he turned to look at the two knights who were standing at the entrance to the emperor's room, "One of you go and get those medicine guys! Pleaseee!"

The two guards looked at each other and nodded before one of them ran.

Mathew clicked his tongue and was just about to walk away when he heard Barou speak.

"Mom, please… fine I'll do as you want me to! Just don't, please just sit down… please." he said, almost sobbing.

Mathew felt his blood boil, but then he remembered his father's words.

'Patience… this isn't new. Stuff like this keeps happening all the time, there's no need to get involved.' he thought but his legs just didn't move any more. He stood still until the knight who had left, returned along with a group of doctors.

While the queen was getting patched up, Barou walked over to Mathew and with a pained voice, spoke.

"Please, beat me and take the throne. I promise to be your servant if you want me to as long as you let me fight wars. I just… can't join your side, not with… not with this." he said and looked at his mother.

Mathew said nothing and instead, he just walked to his left and leaned against the wall before sighing.

"There's news that Zander bought a very potent poison from the Baroma kingdom. You're the one whom he considers as the biggest threat and you know it. Do what you want with that information." he said and then walked away while Barou kept his gaze fixed on Mathew's back.

Meanwhile, somewhere in the middle of an ocean.

Keith stood on top of a small translucent plate that hovered in the air as he kept his gaze locked on pitch black fishes that looked more like snakes as each one of them spanned more than twenty meters in length.

His focus shifted to the steel ship that was now inside his spatial dimension, with a decent sized holes in them which looked like they were melted off.

Keith's attention then went back to the fishes and with a frown, he made a white, super hot fireball and tossed it towards one of the fishes nearby.

The ball of flame evaporated the water on the surface of the ocean even before it made contact and the fish that was closest to this area began to squirm. The water heated up extremely quick due to the fire ball and as the fish in his area began to feel it, Keith did too.

He felt like his whole body was being boiled at extremely high temperatures. And just before the fire ball made contact with the fish, he felt like he was about to lose his consciousness so he teleported into his spatial dimension.

One Second. That was the amount of time he stayed conscious for before passing out.

His skin and flesh began to burn but all of that stopped after four whole seconds. His body began to heal quickly as new muscles and flesh formed in place of the "cooked" parts.

The skin also began to regrow and a few minutes later, Keith woke up with a start.

"So they make their opponents experience the same thing they do. Basically like damage reflection…." he muttered as he gazed out of the spatial dimension to see if they were still there.

And they were.

All of them were swimming around the area where he disappeared from and showed no signs of leaving.

"Fire…. My flames deal way too much damage and the recovery also takes quite a bit of time." he muttered to himself before sighing.

With a shake of his head, he summoned multiple zombies and stared at them silently as his thoughts wandered.

'I wonder if I can do this….' he thought and then de-summoned the zombies before re-summoning them.

The new zombies weren't based on humans but instead, they were the replica of the fishes he just fought. Long and snakelike, but partially rotten with the smell of rot being sent into the air nearby.

With a snap of his fingers, both him and his zombie fishes popped back out. A translucent platform appeared for Keith to stand on while the zombie fishes fell straight into the waters before they began to chase the fishes that were alive.

One minute.

That was the amount of time that his zombies took to catch one fish. Keith didn't feel a bite on his body, but saw his zombie fish getting cut it in two. The fish in front of of zombie had died a similar death.

Over the next few minutes, the zombies killed the fishes but also died in the process. Technically.

Most of their bodies were cut in two parts and while their mouths still worked, without their whole body, they couldn't really move effectively and it turned out to be basically impossible to catch the fishes this way.

Keith kept note of the time and mused, "Well, it's not too bad. Around six minutes to kill twenty fishes but this is not efficient at all…"

There were way too many of these fishes. So many that Keith couldn't even count them.

'Hey system, tell me how many of these fishes are here right now.'

"Damn." he responded as he turned to look at he school of fish before sighing. And then, he suddenly smirked.

His zombies disappeared and the dead fishes began to move towards a single place.

'Corpse Manipulation.… and reconstruction.' he said mentally as he watched them merge into each other. The flesh glued together and so did the bones. As for the organs, Keith didn't know what to do with them so he just tossed them away.

A huge cylindrical object was formed, completely made of flesh. One of the ends opened up, with skin sliding backwards to show a huge empty space inside.

The inner walls of the cylinder squirmed while the other end elongated slightly before it revealed a small hole.

In a way, it looked like a pencil with a broken tip.

Keith watched as the cylinder began to suck in water through the wider entrance before shooting it out of the smaller end.

This helped it move and it also helped with catching the other fish faster.

In just two minutes, more than forty fishes were inside the cylinder, stuck to the inner walls and unable to move.

Keith grinned and with a simple mental command, got the cylinder to close it's entrance and also it's end.

Two seconds later, multiple holes appeared on it's walls before blood began to seep out and mix into the water.

"Well… there's that I guess but hmm…. Maybe these things will be useful to me in the future…" he thought as he summoned a huge undead kraken that had more than a hundred tentacles.

With each swipe of it's tentacles, more than ten of those fishes vanished, only to appear in the waters of Keith's spatial dimension.

Keith stayed in the air as he made sure that everything went smoothly. Hours passed and then days. He waited until the number of fishes had gone down to four digits before he brought dived into his dimension and fixed up his ship.

Then he brought it back out and made sure that his undead kraken swam below the ship to keep the fishes away from the ship's body.

"If they come and touch the ship, their bodies are going to melt the steel so it's better to keep them away." he muttered as he looked downwards and saw his kraken doing a great job of keeping those weird fishes at bay.

A few weeks passed and Keith finally managed to leave the territory of those fishes, only to enter a stormy area. This storm wasn't as violent as the one he had experienced a few months ago, but it was still a storm.

Frustrated, he grabbed some meat that he had cooked recently and took a bite as he continued to provide heat to keep the steam engine going.

It was only when he reached calm waters again, did Keith dive back into his spatial dimension to take a look at the fishes.

'Data please.' he said mentally and a system screen popped up in front of him.

[Affirmative]

[Species: Unconfirmed]

[Information]

An evolved fish that can consume any organic matter and some metals. Metals and minerals are absorbed through the skin while organic matter is consumed normally, through mouth.

They have a mysterious armor that hurts those who attack them and due to this, they are usually left alone in the ocean unless a creature is hungry enough to get itself killed.

These fishes are attracted to places where there is a concentration of mental, spiritual or divine energies.
