God Level Farmer In Another World

Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Master, Save Me!

Chapter 88: Master, Save Me!

The officers' expressions shifted from initial shock to admiration, from admiration to confusion, and now to pure disdain as they looked at Willard Smith.

Willard hadn't changed; he'd just realized he was in trouble and was trying to put on a last-minute show.

Willard couldn't stand those looks.

Why did the feeling of everyone admiring him last only an hour?

In the past, he would've dismissed it, despising people like Ethan Blake.

But now it was different. Now he had felt Ethan's sense of satisfaction!

It was like a dung beetle suddenly tasting sugar—an indescribable feeling.

He had spoken so passionately about improving the security of the North District.

Just as he was about to put his words into action and do some real good for the people, Vincent showed up to arrest him?

Willard asked, bewildered, "Why, Director Vincent?"

This time, he didn't address him as "brother."

Now that he was a mage, he no longer felt as insignificant as before.

Vincent didn't care about the change in address and chuckled. "You should have anticipated this day when you chose to break the law."

Willard gritted his teeth. "A lot of it was for you!"

Vincent's face changed slightly, and he looked around before leaning closer to Willard and whispering, "Save it for the Inspectors.

"If they manage to catch me, then I'll admit defeat."

With that, Vincent signaled the officers behind him, who stepped forward to seize Willard.

Willard panicked.

He couldn't be caught now!

He still needed to pursue his path of magic!

The road to becoming a master mage was waiting for him!

As the officers reached for his arms, Willard instinctively took two steps back.

He couldn't be caught; he needed to escape!

Even if it meant becoming a fugitive, he needed time to train!

But these officers' talents weren't any weaker than his.

Thinking quickly, Willard pleaded, "Director Vincent, give me one night!

"For the sake of the time we've worked together, let me say goodbye to my family!"

Vincent's patience was running thin. "Time together? What time together? Take him away!"

The officers had just grabbed Willard when he suddenly remembered something and shouted, "Vincent! I have something to tell you!"

Vincent sneered. "Save it for the Bureau. What are you waiting for? Take him away!"

Willard struggled and yelled, "Vincent! Do you want me to tell Director Welma what happened in the Old City?"

Vincent's face changed dramatically. "Stop!"

He quickly strode over to Willard, his expression a mix of panic and fear.

Seeing this, Willard let out a sigh of relief.

He knew Vincent's recent odd behavior was connected to the Old City!

After all, no one understands the master better than the lackey.

Vincent nervously pulled Willard aside and whispered, "What exactly do you know?"

Willard replied earnestly, "I don't know the specifics, but if I tell Director Welma, she'll definitely investigate."

"I'm not asking for you to let me go; I just need one night. You can even have people watch me during that time. Please?"

Vincent's expression shifted as he contemplated for a while, finally saying, "Fine, one night, for the sake of our time together."

Despite his words, Vincent was far from lenient in his heart.

He'd made up his mind to silence Willard.

The situation with Alexander could never reach his sister's ears.

Because it would mean his death!

Alexander would never forgive him!

Vincent shot Willard a cold, calculating look before signaling his officers to leave.

Willard knew that look all too well.

It wasn't just understanding Vincent's expression—it was understanding Vincent himself.

He knew Vincent wouldn't truly spare him.

But that was fine. It was Friday, and he could go to the Water Dragon Serenity Spa to find his master.

Merlin would surely be able to help him!

Nighttime, Water Dragon Serenity Spa

Willard soaked in the steamy bath, lighting one cigarette after another.

He was nervous.

He feared that he might've been swindled by the old Daoist.

After the initial excitement faded, recalling that night's events now, something didn't feel right.

It defied logic.

But right now, the old Daoist was his only hope.

"Damn it! Vincent, Welma! Don't let me catch a chance to turn things around!"

Willard lit another cigarette, frustration boiling within him.

"Hahaha! A fleeting visitor to this world, like a blade of grass! A century's emperor is but a mayfly! Hahaha!"

Outside the bath area, a hearty laugh and song echoed through the air.

Willard's eyes lit up with joy.

His master had arrived!

He turned urgently and saw Merlin staggering over, entirely unclothed, his skin flushed red. Who knew how much he had drunk tonight?

Guests glanced at the old beggar with mixed reactions—some curious, others envious, and a few mocking.

Willard's reaction was exaggerated.

He quickly ran over to the beggar and bowed deeply.

"Greetings, Master!"

Merlin waved his hand, "Good disciple, don't be too formal. Join me for a soak."

With that, he slid into the scalding hot sauna pool, letting out a contented "Ahhh."

Willard glared at the crowd and cursed, "What are you staring at? Try me, and I'll haul every one of you in!"

The guests, thinking the pair were lunatics, quietly stepped back, putting some distance between them.

The pool was hot, and Willard grimaced as he gingerly lowered himself, forcing a grin through the discomfort.

"How have you been lately, Master?"

Merlin with his eyes closed, responded, "Not bad, not bad."

Willard grinned and continued, "Master, the girls here at the bathhouse are all quite nice. Let me call a few over later to show you my gratitude."

The old beggar opened his eyes briefly, a touch embarrassed. "No need, no need. Maybe next time."

Recently, the beggar had become infatuated with an older lady with a leopard print outfit from Harbor Alley.

This lady had a particular fondness for his type—older and rough around the edges. Rumor had it she had a past with a master who looked like an old beggar.

With all his energy focused on his leopard-print lady friend, the beggar had little interest left.

Switching topics, the beggar asked, "How's your foundation training been lately?"

Willard's face turned grim.

"Master, for some reason, I still can't sense any magical energy. I haven't been able to establish my foundation."

The beggar glanced at Willard and sighed helplessly, "Ah! It's simply too late!"

"You're already in your thirties. Establishing a foundation at this age isn't easy."

"You missed the prime time!"

Willard grew anxious.

"What should I do, Master? You have to help me!"

The beggar closed his eyes and reclined in the water.

"Take it slowly. You'll feel it eventually."

"Even if it takes a bit longer, reaching the foundation stage at forty or fifty is still possible."

"As long as you succeed, you'll gain two hundred years of life. What's there to fear?"

Willard opened his mouth but couldn't find any words to respond.

The silence hung heavily, and the beggar seemed close to drifting off.

Finally, Willard gathered his courage, his voice low and serious.

"Master, to tell you the truth, I'm in trouble!"

Merlin cracked one eye open, "Your trouble is my trouble."

"Speak up. What predicament have you landed in?"

Willard's expression was conflicted.

"The Security Bureau's director is out to get me. Right now, her brother is waiting outside for me."

"I'm probably looking at spending the rest of my life behind bars."

"Master, it's the Security Bureau… I…"

Willard stood, stepped out of the pool, and knelt down, bowing deeply to the beggar.

"Master, please save me!"

He finished speaking, his eyes fixed intently on Beggar face.
