Global Lords: Hundredfold Increments Starting With the Undead

Chapter 828, God's Grave?

Fang Hao didn't say that believers were coming to attack him; instead, he brought up Mount Dragon Peak.

Although the intelligence did not mention the Dragon Clan, they could not possibly overlook them.

Now, by bringing up Mount Dragon Peak, he also tied the Dragon Queen to himself once more.

The most fierce demigod was still a very powerful ally.

"You have a plan?" the Dragon Queen snapped the book shut, no longer in the mood to peruse it.

The look that came his way was serious and grave.

The deities were indeed seeking revenge against them.

She did not regret helping Fang Hao.

The promises made by Fang Hao were truly what she needed and also demonstrated significant capability.

If her statues could be erected throughout his territory,

that would indeed be her opportunity to ascend to godhood; otherwise, relying solely on the faith of Mount Dragon Peak would never be enough to achieve divinity.

But the retribution of the deities still made her apprehensive.

If mishandled, it could spell a crisis of annihilation for her entire race.

"What else? Before he takes his revenge on us, we should find a way to kill him," Fang Hao said without hesitation.

"How do we kill him?" the Dragon Queen asked.

Fang Hao's rapid development and his array of shrewd tactics could mean he really had some kind of plan.

After a long wait, she finally heard him say from across, "I haven't figured it out yet!"

Pfft!

The wine that had just been sipped sprayed out entirely.

Not figured out yet...

At a time like this, you dare not have it figured out...

The Dragon Queen, incensed by her lapse in composure, rose rapidly to her feet.

Seeing the Dragon Queen about to explode, Fang Hao hurriedly said, "It's not that I don't have any plans at all, it's just that right now is not the time for a direct confrontation with him."

Whew!!

The Dragon Queen stared into his eyes, gauging whether there was any deceit.

She exhaled deeply and then asked, "What about the details?"

"The details I will tell you when the time comes. What we need to do now is to enhance our strength as quickly as possible," Fang Hao continued.

"You don't, by any chance, have no plan, do you?"

"Of course there's a plan. I wouldn't joke about my own life or my territory with you," he retorted.

The Dragon Queen glared at him, her eyebrows furrowing, and then said, "Hmph, it had better be as you say."

The two maintained their silence once more.

The conversation did not continue.

After a while, feeling the icy discomfort of the stone chair against his behind, Fang Hao stood up and prepared to leave.

Then the Dragon Queen spoke up again, "That necklace you gave to Beata, was it from you?"

"Yes, it suits Beata well," Fang Hao said.

The necklace increased the power and range of the dragon's breath, making it ideal for the Dragon Clan.

The Dragon Queen inspected it several times before slowly saying, "Hmm, I see. Focus your energies on confronting the deities, and not always on trivialities, like rabbits and foxes."

Fang Hao twisted his mouth in displeasure, but turned and left without responding.

Really rather meddlesome.

...

The next day, noon.

The Undead Desert.

The scorching sun hung overhead, like a furnace turned upside down, engulfing the land in waves of blistering heat.

Billowing hot gusts tumbled over the yellow sands, and within the endless desert, the air began to warp with the scorching heat.

The desert, vast in its expanse, was rarely coveted.

Half-buried by yellow sands in a broken wall region, several temporary camps of transmigrators encircled the area.

With the ruined walls at the center, rings of tents formed a makeshift camp.

"We can't even get in; what are we doing standing guard here?"

A few transmigrators, gathered for a break, spoke amongst themselves.

All nearby alliances had dispatched people here.

But still, not a single alliance had managed to clear this map.

He just didn't understand; if they couldn't beat it, what was the point of guarding the entrance? The desert was anything but comfortable.

"They're probably wanting to see who can clear it? After all, we're the ones who discovered this map. If we can't clear it and someone else does, as the discoverers, we'd still get a share of the rewards, right?" another suggested, shaking with anticipation.

The others felt it made sense, too.

"The ones who went in yesterday, it's been a whole day and night and they haven't come out. They're probably dead by now."

"Yeah, everyone who could try has gone in already. Seems like no one can clear it."

"So how long are we supposed to stand guard here? Are we just going to stop developing our territories?"

"Let's stick it out for two more days. Then we'll collectively request to return. Our territories need development; we can't stay here forever."

"Sounds good, let's agree on that."

The group came to a unanimous decision, and their spirits lifted considerably.

So many had ventured here yet no one could conquer this map.

It was clearly beyond the difficulty the transmigrators could currently handle.

If they were expected to stand guard here for a year or even half, who would want to do that?

What a joke, my territory would be left undeveloped.

Just as they had agreed on an action plan and were about to head back,

from the distant horizon, where their vision blurred with the heat waves,

a dense shadow rapidly approached.

"What's happening? Is a sandstorm coming?"

"No, that's an army; another group of transmigrators has arrived."

Amidst the confusion and alarms in various camps,

the approaching army grew ever closer.

A dense undead army, clad in dull brown armor advanced swiftly towards them through the sweltering heat.

The distant army drew ever closer.

Everyone also started to see the few camels among the troops.

"It's Miss Cleolando... It's Miss Cleolando's army."

Someone recognized the figures atop the camels and loudly signaled to those nearby.

Especially in this region of the Undead Desert.

Cleolando's prestige among the travelers was hardly inferior to that of Fang Hao among the locals.

Both were top-tier travelers in their respective territories, each cherished and supported.

Hearing the cries, the various armies also became less vigilant.

From afar, they awaited this army that approached like a sandstorm.

People swallowed hard, their eyes filled with envy and admiration.

This was a world-ranked traveler, frightening indeed.

...

After the team approached, there were no incidents.

Cleolando, along with her army, came directly to a spot near the entrance and began establishing a temporary camp.

Tents were pitched one after the other.

They also blocked the view of the outside crowd.

"That spot between the two broken walls is the entrance to the tomb." Cleolando pointed to the break in the wall, explaining softly.

Gray Bear, not wearing bear skin, glanced at the broken walls and asked directly, "When do you plan to go in?"

"I've inquired; the tomb was last entered yesterday afternoon, no one has gone down today. If Mr. Fang Hao has time, it would be best to act swiftly," Cleolando continued.

Gray Bear nodded and began to meditate.

When he opened his eyes again, there was a change in his gaze and demeanor.

Cleolando knew that Fang Hao was using one of his skills to descend into the hero's body.

She immediately approached and repeated what she said earlier.

"Go down now?" Fang Hao surveyed the surroundings through Gray Bear's perspective.

Though the tent supposedly provided cover, it wasn't entirely impenetrable, and it was hard to ensure no one was observing from a distance.

"Right, I've made sure; no one has gone down today, we'd be the first," Cleolando repeated.

"Too many eyes here, not a good place for me to use my skills," Fang Hao spoke bluntly.

Cleolando then continued, "I've made inquiries; the first level below has been cleared out, it's a spacious square, and you can teleport your soldiers there."

That was quite thoughtful of her.

With this in mind, Fang Hao had nothing more to say.

"Just transfer the Teleportation Scrolls to me."

"Understood!"

Soon, a light shone, and Fang Hao appeared in the tent accompanied by two black-armored warriors.

These two black-armored soldiers, whom Cleolando had also seen once, were both Dark Gold Heroes.

Terrifyingly powerful.

"My lord!" Gray Bear saluted.

Cleolando followed with her salute.

"Right, leave some people outside, let's take some and go down, the sooner we finish, the sooner we can return," Fang Hao said straightforwardly.

"Understood!"

Cleolando led the way out of the tent, instructing her guards, "Leave some outside, the rest follow me into the ancient tomb."

"Yes, my lord."

After leaving some soldiers behind, the rest accompanied Cleolando towards the tomb.

Many travelers stood at a distance, whispering among themselves, watching the team.

After all, being a famed traveler, who could predict whether she'd conquer this map or not?

Fang Hao followed Cleolando to the location of the broken walls.

Between the two broken walls was a deep stone staircase leading downward.

The staircase was clean, seemingly frequently traversed.

"Let's go, down we go!"

Skeleton soldiers surrounded the group, starting their descent along the staircase.

...

Descending the stairway, the light dimmed further.

Within the two-meter-wide passage, the walls were mottled and dry, a dull gray-white.

Soon after, a chilly sensation made everyone shiver.

The temperature here was the complete opposite of that outside.

Upon reaching the end of the staircase, the space suddenly opened up.

In front of them lay a cellar as large as a soccer field.

The cellar was empty, with a few Nightstones barely illuminating the space.

Debris and rubble were scattered around the edges, and in the center stood a large but severely damaged statue.

The upper body of the statue was destroyed, but from the lower half, it appeared to be a robed humanoid figure.

At least the lower half was humanoid.

A temple?

No, more like God's Grave?

Upon seeing the statue, Fang Hao's first thought was that of a deity.

"This is the first floor of the tomb; it used to gather a lot of Undead, but now it has been cleared out, creating a buffer area between the travelers and the tomb's monsters," Cleolando spoke again.

Travelers had been meddling with it for a while, apparently not without success.

"What about this statue?" Fang Hao asked, looking up.

"This statue, no one has mentioned, probably damaged in the fighting," said Cleolando.

Fang Hao nodded, instructing, "Have your people secure this place, don't let others in."

"Understood!"

Cleolando's skeleton soldiers began to guard the entrance.

Fang Hao, however, opened the Gate of the Worlds, revealing a throng of Valkyrie constructs.

And standing in front of the constructs were Anjia, Beata, and... the Dragon Queen?

Beata was continuously shaking the Dragon Queen's arm, pleading for something.

The Dragon Queen's gaze, however, went through the Gate of the Worlds and settled on Fang Hao.
