Global Game: I, the Necromancer, am the scourge

Chapter 620_2

However, now with Chen Sanzang's help, I can first get rid of these lackeys and collect some interest from them.

"Congratulations, Great Saint, on regaining your freedom. We should return to report, so please don't make things difficult for us."

"Report? Report what? No need to guard Old Sun anymore, so you're off the hook?"

Sun Wukong squinted his eyes, looking at these immortals and Buddhas, unable to hide the murderous intent in his eyes.

"Great Saint, we are just following orders. Please spare us."

The undisguised intent to kill made the immortals and Buddhas break into cold sweat. There was no way around it; Sun Wukong's notorious reputation was well earned. How could they, mere underlings, withstand his wrath?

"Don't worry, Old Sun will just give you a beating to vent his anger. I won't take your lives."

Sun Wukong grinned, revealing a fiendish smile.

But in his heart, he thought, Old Sun won't kill you, but someone does want your lives—the destined one you are waiting for, the Master of Great Tribulation.

In an instant, Sun Wukong transformed into dozens of clones, each wielding an iron rod, charging forward.

"Take this!"

Chen Sanzang said it needed to be a quick battle, and no one was to escape, so Sun Wukong went all out from the start.

After all, Chen Sanzang only said not to kill them, so he decided to cripple these lackeys instead!

How could a group of Profound Immortals, True Immortals, and Golden Immortals be a match for Sun Wukong?

Even if they fled in all directions, they couldn't escape Sun Wukong's grasp. The speed of his Somersault Cloud was too fast, catching up to them almost instantly and knocking them down with a single blow.

While Sun Wukong was beating them in the sky, Chen Sanzang was collecting corpses below. These immortals and Buddhas that bore Sun Wukong's wrath were no different from dead.

Anyone struck by the monkey was at least left with injured bones and sinews, the more severe cases were on the brink of soul shattering, causing damage to their True Spirits as well.

With each one he collected, Chen Sanzang would smash their heads with his Nine Ringed Staff before they could escape, capturing their Spirits with a ban immediately, followed by Old Xi's transcendence.

As his power increased, Chen Sanzang's transcendence speed grew faster. Compared to a Taiyin Golden Immortal or higher, where laws were involved, transcending became exponentially more difficult and time-consuming.

However, for these prison guard immortals and Buddhas, the strongest only being Golden Immortals, with most at the Profound Immortal and True Immortal levels, the transcendence was naturally very quick.

Often, before Chen Sanzang could finish reciting a round of Transcendence Scripture, Old Xi had already drained them.

Truly drained, not only their cultivation and mana but also their Spirit and essence were purified and condensed, all turning into nourishment for Chen Sanzang.

This overwhelming fight lasted only a minute before ending.

All thirty-nine immortals and Buddhas were crippled by Sun Wukong, allowing the monkey to vent his inner frustration.

And to transcend these immortals and Buddhas, Old Xi took less than five minutes.

When everything was over, Old Xi immediately created an illusion of the immortals and Buddhas leaving. Unless Hongjun personally came to inspect, not even a Saint would see through the deception.

"Hey, Drinking and Eating Monk, your aura is growing a bit fast."

Sun Wukong flipped over to stand in front of Chen Sanzang, instantly noticing the change in the monk's aura.

Still a Taiyin Golden Immortal, but it had strengthened by at least ten percent!

"Amitabha, isn't it all thanks to these immortals and Buddhas' sponsorship and support?"

Chen Sanzang was deeply grateful to the immortals and Buddhas, who not only sponsored his cultivation but even contributed their Spirits, truly great benefactors.

"Hehe, you, Drinking and Eating Monk, really suit Old Sun's taste. But aren't you afraid that bald Tathagata will make a move and slap you to death?"

Sun Wukong had held back his strength, not killing any, but this Drinking and Eating Monk mercilessly smashed the heads of the immortals and Buddhas, completely obliterating them.

Not only that, but Sun Wukong sensed and searched around—a thorough annihilation of their physical bodies, Spirits, and True Spirits.

The proficiency of these killing methods clearly marked the Drinking and Eating Monk as a vicious habitual criminal!

And such a person turned out to be the one destined to retrieve scriptures, the Master of the Westward Journey's Great Tribulation—it's absolutely ridiculous!

If Sun Wukong hadn't sensed Chen Sanzang's pure Buddha Essence comparable to the Tathagata, he would've thought this guy to be a Demon Cultivator, specializing in killing and soul refining.

"Hehe, Little Kongkong, join me, and together we'll overturn the Western Heaven, and even take a Buddha as well."

Chen Sanzang pulled Sun Wukong by the shoulder, took out a wine gourd, took a gulp, and handed it to the monkey, chuckling.

"Alright, Old Sun's in, long since been sick of seeing Tathagata's head full of lumps—might as well take his Buddha position!"

Taking the wine gourd, Sun Wukong didn't mind Chen Sanzang's attitude and the two walked arm in arm out of the Five Elements Mountain's rubble.

"Drinking and Eating Monk, what's your name?"

"I, Chen Sanzang, from the Great Qin Empire, assigned by Emperor Shi of the Great Qin to retrieve scriptures from the Western Heaven's Great Leiyin Temple."

On the way, eating and drinking, the man and monkey soon arrived outside the ruins.

Chen Sanzang unceremoniously mounted a small tiger and continued to the next destination, but their leisurely pace was surprisingly touching.

At sunrise, the man and monkey would exercise their muscles and bones a little, then start foraging through mountains for edible food.

A breakfast meal would last at least an hour.

After enjoying food and drink, the man and monkey casually embarked on the scripture retrieval journey.

After dawdling for half an hour, Chen Sanzang would often lay out a camping cloth on the ground, telling Sun Wukong he was hungry and to take some gold to the nearby city for a packed meal for lunch.

The monkey was perplexed by this guy's attitude, but the promise of good food for a simple errand had him too lazy to ponder it much.

Thus, he'd flip with a somersault, and after wasting an hour or so, return with a packed feast, which the man and monkey would then devour.

As Chen Sanzang said, people are iron, food is steel, and missing a meal makes one jittery with hunger.

After lunch, Chen Sanzang would pull out two deck chairs, find a shady spot, and nap with the monkey for the entire afternoon.

According to Chen Sanzang, the scorching sun and the Golden Crow crossing the sky were too intense, risking sunburn on his tender skin.

Plus, the blasting sun might cause heatstroke for someone as delicate as him, so precaution was necessary.

Basically, the afternoon sun was too harsh for travel, so finding a cool spot to relax and avoid the heat was fine.

When the Golden Crow set and the Jade Rabbit rose, it signaled Chen Sanzang's time to hand money to Sun Wukong for another food errand.

After the man and monkey enjoyed their dinner, it was free time for both.

Typically, at this time, Chen Sanzang would scout the nearby mountains for an alluring female demon to enjoy an emperor-like performance and personally guide one-on-one sessions, discussing business ventures with a few small objectives.

Often during this time, Sun Wukong would watch Chen Sanzang's antics from not far away, baring his teeth and looking amazed.

This was the Tathagata's disciple Golden Cicada reincarnated?

Truly, meat and wine pass through the intestines, while the Buddha resides in the heart!

This guy was definitely not a Buddhist Sect follower, but rather an absolute renegade!

Sun Wukong was amazed, but he did lower his guard just a tad.

Chen Sanzang's actions clearly showed a lack of allegiance with the Western Buddhist sect, so Sun Wukong didn't have to be wary of him.

After reading "Journey to the West," Sun Wukong knew that Tang Sanzang had been fooled by the Goddess of Mercy into putting on the Tightening spell!

With his knowledge of the plot, Sun Wukong wouldn't let the Tightening spell appear on his head again!

However, there was one issue troubling the monkey—the travel pace for scripture retrieval.

This Chen Sanzang, in a whole day's time, would only spend half an hour on the journey, wasting the rest!
