Chapter 690: Message
Just from their conversation, Shane realized what kind of danger they had experienced during the Zombie Wave.
If possible, he also wanted to see what had happened during their fight.
After all, a Mech Frame battling against Giant Zombies should be quite a sight. Although the Mech Frames weren't capable of flight just yet due to their lack of technology and materials, their combat capabilities should still inspire a lot of people.
Shane just listened to their banter for some time and smiled. Soon, he stepped between Phantom and Juggernaut…
For a moment, Shane observed the Phantom Mech and placed a hand on its warm exterior…
Then, Cloud provided all the information it was able to gather about the battle that had occurred within the shelter, especially against the last flying Zombie Lord.
"Still. I wanted to say it in person. You all did incredibly well. The entire shelter's still standing because of your teamwork."
That earned a few grins and muttered thanks from the pilots, engineers, and other technicians around.
Regina looked up from her food. "No casualties from the cockpit, but I think my spine's permanently crooked. Phantom took a full-body slam from one of those Four-Armed Zombie Lord. Ahem… We should start adding some comfortable cockpit, Commander Shane…"
"I'll try to design a massage chair in the cockpit then…" Shane joked.
"We have those? It will be fine even if it's not in the cockpit! Put a few in the lounge!" Regina perked up.
"We don't have one yet…" he admitted. "But now I'm considering making one."
Xyrille slid down from Vanguard and joined the conversation… "Massage chair? I don't think that's a priority… I think we should get a better rice… We should consider ordering from a different supplier."
"Ohh?" Shane took this advice with a smile, as when he had gotten a supplier from the Marketplace, he didn't think too much of the quality but of the price instead.
However, now that they have enough money, they should consider finding more or perhaps expanding their own fields to grow their crops.
'With the lake water and some soil from the Fairy Realm, it should be fine to expand the production now…'
"I'll look into it." Shane said as he noted this in his mind.
As he sat on a crate and joined the group, Shane took a moment to relax.
There was still some tension after the Zombie Wave… The aftershock of the battle had not quite settled yet.
But there was laughter now…
There was already a little peace that everyone could enjoy...
"By the way," he added, "I dropped off a batch of Tokens to Arial. The new models—categorized by roles. If any of you want something specialized for piloting, you have to wait for a bit..."
"A token for different roles… I like that… But just give me some shield generator or something next time…" Garren muttered. "It would be great if it covers my Aegis Bastion as well."
"I want something that makes my mech fly…" Arris grinned. "However, even just a flight token for me would be great."
"You want a Flying Mech? That's too much for us right now… It's not easy to create a rocket, you know." Chief Engineer Rhona said as she shook her head... She had never considered that these Mechs could even fly at all.
"I want auto-repair… Or maybe a skill token that could make me capable of repairing my Mech." Regina added between bites.
"I want a week of sleep…" Clyde muttered, flopping onto a makeshift bed in the corner.
Shane laughed. "Noted. I'll see what I can do."
It was good to hear their opinion… Anyway, he probably needs to create high-quality tokens soon.
***
After some time, Shane opened his Regional Chat Board to pass the time…
The conversations about the Zombie Wave were already done, and they were now talking about the various items they needed, hoping for a trade with the items they looted today.
[ Halek: Requesting urgent shipment of steel plates and bonding resin. Our Shield Wall suffered heavy damage after the last wave. Will pay in Zombie Cores or Survivor Skill Scrolls... Send me a message. ]
[ Lanah: There are a lot of people looking for steel bars right now… Good luck… I'm only looking for fair-priced Healing Salves or Potions. Willing to trade fresh herbs and food. Healing Paste and Pills in the Marketplace are too overpriced right now. I know it's the end of the Zombie Wave so the supply is in demand, but it's just too much. ]
[ Travis: Right… The Alchemists are heartless. Join our clan, and we will provide you all with free Vitality Recovery Pills. Our Drakeheart Vanguard never abandons its soldiers. If you join today, you will only have to pay 150 Zombie Cores for the creation of your uniform, identity tokens, and for your place of stay. ]
Shane read the message and couldn't help but smile after seeing Travis' recruitment.
It seemed that after visiting his Shelter, he got inspired by his Identity Tokens and started using it in his shelters as well.
Well, Shane didn't really mind that, and he was happy that Travis was adapting well.
[ Donvar: Who can sell a blueprint for a Machine Gun or an Automated Turret? I realized that we can't just rely on our Survivor Abilities anymore… I'm from Black Iron Pact. We managed to reach Rank 18 during the Zombie Wave, but it was not easy. We're really lacking in manpower. If we don't have the ability to control Tyrant Zombies, we will be in trouble. ]
[ Travis: Wow… Nice advertisement. I guess you're planning to sell those scrolls you use to control Tyrant Zombies. ]
[ Donvar: Ahem… Thank you for patronizing our product, Sir Travis. But yes, it's true. We survived thanks to the Scrolls that our Clan Leader had created. One Zombie Puppeteer Scroll can control at least one High-Tier Zombie, this includes Tyrant Zombie, but not Special High Tier or those at the level of Giant Zombies. We will have a promo… ]
Shane then continued to read Donvar's advertisement, and it was indeed quite enticing.
After all, they could supply hundreds of scrolls a day.
The only concern was the fact that the scroll's effect would only last for 18 hours. After that duration, the Zombie you're controlling would be freed and turn against you…
People would have to be careful when using these scrolls.
Still, it was true that they could be really useful as the scrolls could turn things around during tough situations.
[ Mero: I guarantee Donvar's words. Those scrolls are working perfectly. Just hoping that the materials you need to make those scrolls get cheaper. It's a bit too expensive… ]
[ Donvar: Ahemm… The demand is high… So we have no choice but to raise the price a little so it can be given to those who desperately need it. ]
This logic was off, but none of them cared about it for now.
[ Grissel: Any clan selling combat drones or strong training dummies? Our new recruits need better drills. After this Zombie Wave, we used all of our Normal and Rare Recruitment Stones. ]
[ Alice: If you're from Sector 17, the Next Market Day was moved to Friday due to an incoming dust storm. ]
[ Kern: Looking for bulk food trades. Dried meat, rice, and spirit grains. Can pay in ammunition of all kinds. No Marketplace trade. The tax is too much. ]
[ Yelli: Does anyone have Anti-Aircraft Guns or something? We need weapons that could deal with the Flying Zombies. ]
[ Natalie: We're organizing a joint expedition to deal with the Zombie Lord Territories... Interested Clans can send me a message. ]
[ Arlen: We've been testing a new set of vaccines for the Zombie Virus. Results are promising… If you are interested in our clinical trials, send us a message. So far, about 2 out of 10 infected have survived without a vaccine. We will keep improving it, and if you're one of the infected. Don't lose hope yet. You might have a chance to fight it with our vaccine. ]
[ Celia: I'm from Blue Moon Clan… We have a territory dispute with Frostborn Union Clan over the Gold Mine we discovered. However, they were claiming it was part of their territory... It had been two weeks since the dispute, and no one could mine it so far. We might enter a war very soon since the Zombie Wave has ended. If you want to help us, send me a message and I can give you more information about the dispute before you decide to join our war. ]
[ Travis: Oh? You can recruit from other Clans. Nice… ]
[ Celia: Yes… The Frostborn Union already requested the assistance of the Overlord Clan. ]
[ Travis: What the heck? Why would they help? Maybe they're the ones who needed the Gold Mine… ]
[ Natalie: Interesting. I didn't think that the Overlord Clan was doing something like this. I sent you a message. ]
Shane gently nodded after reading this part of the chat... The Blue Moon Clan was the Rank 8 Clan while the Frostborn Clan was only Rank 12...
This might be the reason why the Frostborn Clan asked for assistance, but for a Rank 2 Clan to help them so willingly in their dispute, there might be something more about it.
