Chapter 678: Supplies and New Set
Everyone was, of course, quite happy after hearing that they would be rewarded for all the efforts they had made.
Although the system had already rewarded them after successfully surviving the fourth Zombie Wave, a reward from Commander Shane was definitely something they should look forward to.
They already had an idea of how rich Shane was because of his four Shelters. Just from the fuel they were making from the Distillation Tower, they knew that Shane could build a few more large Shelters if he wanted to.
"Thank you, Commander Shane." Loreen responded after a few moments.
Well, compliments were rare—even more so coming directly from Shane, who always had something on his mind, or was busy with other things.
She wanted to ask if Shane needed something more from them, but he suddenly opened his inventory tab and placed various items on an empty table.
[ Recovery Supply Crate x20 ]
[ Combat Med-Kit Batch x20 ]
[ Alchemical Medicinal Potions ( Advanced ) x35 ]
[ Energy Stimulators x30 ]
[ Fairy Vine Salve x30 ]
[ Fresh World Tree Leaves x100 ]
Loreen's eyes widened again as she inspected all the items that Shane took out. She already knew about these items, except for the Fresh World Tree Leaves.
"W-Wait… World Tree Leaves?" She asked curiously, as she wasn't sure what these leaves could do.
However, since it came from a World Tree, it was definitely a useful item.
Shane gave a small smirk, amused by her reaction. "Yup. Straight from my Fairy Realm pocket dimension. Just harvested them a few days ago."
"Fairy Realm… So it was true… No wonder you were able to recruit so many Elves…" Loreen gently nodded as if she really understood Shane's secrets.
Anyway, she was half right, so he decided not to correct her.
"You… you should be using these yourself! I just checked their description and their essence in one of these leaves can restore lost limbs, purge poisons, and even mend soul damage! It's incredible."
"I know," Shane said casually. "But I've got enough. And besides, I figured you could do more with them here. Split them into tinctures, powders, or make salves. Whatever's needed. I don't have medical skills after all."
He walked past the first few beds and finally stood beside Loreen, giving the place a full look.
"…You did well, Loreen. No—more than well. Anna told me you'd grown, but seeing it now…" He looked at her with genuine admiration.
"You've become someone they rely on."
Shane was sincere as he said this. After all, Loreen and the other girls they rescued before had terrible conditions after being used by the Mystic Mirage Clan for their own pleasure.
Of course, Shane didn't have to ask what happened to them since their condition during the rescue was already more than enough to know what kind of suffering they endured before.
Loreen felt her cheeks flush lightly as Shane got closer.
"I-I'm just… trying to help. I mean, I didn't really have anything to do after the rescue. I just didn't want to be a burden…"
Although she had Enhanced Reflexes that could be used in Combat, this Talent was only Uncommon. It was already amazing how she lasted up until now when numerous Survivors with Master and even Epic Grade Talent had been killed.
"You're not…" Shane interrupted firmly. "You're doing exactly what this shelter needs."
Shane then gave Loreen another gift.
"I received this from Exceptional Medic Gift Pack. I can't use it, so you might as well have it."
"Ahh… This is…" Loreen was shocked as she saw the gift, it was actually an Alchemist Set! There were five of them.
"I didn't know you could get them in a Gift Pack… Ahh… You said Exceptional?!"
Loreen never had a chance to get a higher-level Gift Pack, so she wasn't aware…
"That's right… You can inspect them for now. I left them at Tier 4. You can work slowly and gather more Item Upgrade Crystals to advance them to Tier 5." Shane said as he also wanted to give her a goal to work harder.
Upgrading one tier may sound simple, but one needed 150 Item Upgrade Crystals to reach that tier from Tier 4.
It means that to upgrade all five of them, she needed 750 Item Upgrade Crystals, and it wasn't a small amount, especially for her who wasn't fighting on the front lines.
Anyway, Loreen gulped as she started checking each item.

"Whoa… This is incredible, Commander Shane!" Loreen couldn't help but feel excited as she looked at the new set.
It even had two other Set effects.

"Wow~" Loreen gasped.
The set effect was simply too good, especially the Alchemist's Miracle effect!
"This is a game changer." Loreen muttered after seeing that it had 2%. That was quite huge since he made hundreds of pills and potions every day when there weren't any patients.
Of course, she was also wearing a decent Doctor's Garb, but the effects were definitely not as great as the one in front of her.
Her only concern was the eye-catching Circlet.
'I'm sure it doesn't look good on me.'
Well, it had a great effect and even had a passive skill, Healer's Vision. However, she just couldn't imagine herself wearing a Circlet while helping the patients.
'Whatever… I can't complain now.' Loreen thought as she immediately thanked Shane.
"I know you can use it well. Then, you will be officially appointed as the Chief Medical Officer of the Springriver Manor." Shane said.
"W-Wait, Chief Medical Officer? Me?"
"You've already been doing the job. This just makes it official. That Alchemist Set that you have is also your mark as the Chief. " Shane replied.
"I… I don't know what to say…" Loreen replied as she didn't really think too much whenever she helped.
Still, she couldn't help but smile knowing that her efforts weren't gone unnoticed.
As expected, their Commander, Clan Leader, and Shelter Owner was truly a blessing for Survivors like her.
"Say 'yes' and get some sleep after…" Shane joked lightly. "You look like death warmed over."
Despite the dark joke, Loreen chuckled.
"Then maybe I'll brew a tea from the World Tree's leaf and crash for six hours straight."
"Just don't forget to teach Keller and Mina how to do the same…" Shane grinned.
Loreen quickly took the Alchemist Set and bowed her head slightly…
"Thank you, Commander."
Shane gave her one last nod before turning to leave. "If you need anything, call me through the Clan channel." Then, Shane recalled something.
"Ahhh… Anna mentioned that you're the one in charge of the creation of the Salve, that's why I gave more World Tree's Leaf."
"Yes… That's right. Is there something wrong?" Loreen asked.
"Next time I visit, I expect at least a salve named after me…" He said while laughing.
Loreen smiled, unsure whether it was a joke or not.
"Then I hope you like the sound of Shane's Miracle Paste."
Shane wasn't sure how to react to that…
"…That's actually not bad… But might as well use my last name. Wells." Shane muttered as the doors slid closed behind him.
'Wells Miracle Paste? I guess that sounds good too.' Loreen mused.
