Chapter 6
It was really haunting like a ghost.
Liu Jin’an was not surprised that the Gu family had found him. He had been in a hurry to leave Longcheng, and he knew the Gu family’s influence in the city was intricate; even the slightest movement on his part would be noticed by them.
This was not conducive to him hoarding supplies to cope with the end of the world.
His original idea had been simple. With his ability, it would be difficult for him to compete with the protagonist group. If he couldn’t afford to offend them, why not hide?
Yuncheng was the city he chose among many others—it was the most suitable city to go to in the early days of the end of the world.
Cheap prices were one thing, but more importantly, the novel mentioned that Yuncheng contained spiritual treasures with healing and spatial abilities.
These two spiritual treasures were rare and powerful, and Liu Jin’an was determined to obtain them.
So, the top priority was to get rid of these strangers who were related to him by blood.
“I left without saying goodbye? Didn’t you and your brothers drive me away? Why is it my fault now?”
Liu Jin’an didn’t suppress his voice. The waiting room was no noisier than a train station. His outburst quickly attracted the attention of many passersby.
Jiang Shulan had been a rich lady of a wealthy family for decades, and the cultivation engraved in her bones prevented her from making noise in public like Liu Jin’an.
She tried to pull Liu Jin’an away, hoping to get him to speak where no one could hear.
Liu Jin’an calmly took a step back and continued, “And you, don’t blame me randomly. Do I know you? Why are you slandering me? You just opened your lips and said I hate you, so you should explain why you think I hate you.”
How could Gu Letian say it out loud? After all, Liu Jin’an was the true young master of the Gu family. Did they want him to admit he was occupying the magpie’s nest in public?
He hesitated for a long time, and when Gu Hongwu, who had been responsible for parking the car, and Gu Hongwen, who had come after hearing the news, appeared, Gu Letian immediately looked at them with tears in his eyes.
Gu Hongwu immediately rolled up his sleeves and protected Gu Letian behind him: “Liu Jin’an, do you still want to bully Tiantian? Let me tell you, as long as I, Gu Hongwu, am here, you can’t even think about it!”
Liu Jin’an: “…”
So crazy.
He trembled slightly, his whole body seeming to be shrouded in fear, but his voice was still loud enough for everyone present to hear clearly: “Gu Hongwu, you still want to hit someone? I owe all my injuries to you. Obviously, I’m the one who’s been wronged. How could you do this to your biological brother?”
“I don’t want the Gu family’s property anymore,” he shouted hoarsely. “I just want to live well. What’s wrong with it? Why do you have to go to the extent of killing me?”
Massacre of wealthy families? Brothers fighting against each other?
People who were merely bystanders gathered around.
The Gu family was the richest in Longcheng and was well-known across the city. Anyone with nothing to do was eager to watch the drama.
Some recorded videos, while others whispered amongst themselves.
More audaciously, someone even started a live broadcast.
Gu Hongwen remained calm. He instructed his bodyguards to drive away the people filming the video and live broadcast. He then whispered to Liu Jin’an, “If the trouble continues, you won’t want the 100 million.”
Time was of the essence, and it was impossible for Liu Jin’an to transfer 100 million from his bank card to his account in such a short time.
If Gu Hongwen truly froze his bank card, Liu Jin’an wouldn’t even have a chance to cry.
“I have conditions,” Liu Jin’an said calmly. “First, you get your mother and Gu Letian away; second, this money belongs to me personally, and you have no right to interfere with it from now on.”
Everyone was sharp. Gu Hongwen understood that Liu Jin’an meant he didn’t want him to investigate the movement of funds, so he agreed.
Unable to stand it, Jiang Shulan refused.
Gu Hongwen gave Gu Hongwu a knowing look. Gu Hongwu understood and took advantage of Liu Jin’an’s turn to strike him hard on the back of the neck with a knife strike.
A burst of severe pain hit Liu Jin’an, who could hardly stand and was pushed to the ground.
Liu Jin’an turned back to look at the attacker, saw it was Gu Hongwu, and immediately shouted, “He’s killing someone, help!”
Gu Hongwu looked confused. He was a professional boxer and had won many domestic boxing competition awards. He was proficient in Muay Thai, kickboxing, and karate. He knew exactly how to knock out an unsuspecting opponent.
The position and intensity of the blow should have been flawless.
According to the original plan, he had intended to knock Liu Jin’an unconscious and then falsely claim that the other party had experienced hypoglycaemia. Normally, no one would pursue it.
But he never imagined that he would actually miss and that Liu Jin’an would still have the energy to shout!
As the crowd became more turbulent, security personnel rushed over.
Gu Hongwu hurriedly asked Gu Hongwen, “Brother, what should I do?”
Gu Hongwen frowned. There were too many people talking now. He had originally wanted Gu Hongwu to take Liu Jin’an away before making any plans.
Now, it was chaos.
The airport’s security personnel arrived quickly, and soon, Liu Jin’an and the four members of the Gu family were taken to the security room.
The difference was that Gu Hongwu was escorted in by security personnel, while Liu Jin’an was invited by the supervisor to explain the situation.
Along the way, Gu Letian was crying, repeatedly saying, “You’re wrong, Brother Hongwu is not a terrorist! Brother Jin’an, tell them something. He’s your biological brother, and you just watch him being bullied?”
Liu Jin’an ignored Gu Letian’s words.
How could any brother be so cruel?
Recalling the scene just now, he could clearly sense Gu Hongwu’s shock. Could it be that his original intention was not just to hit him?
It seemed that the extent of his injuries had not met Gu Hongwu’s expectations, which was why Gu Hongwu was so surprised.
It seemed that this was the result of his ability to resist being hit.
Rubbing the aching back of his neck, Liu Jin’an sat indifferently on the sofa in the security room, staring directly at Jiang Shulan.
To be honest, he was curious about what Jiang Shulan would do.
On one side was the second son, who had grown up with her, and on the other, the younger son, who had just been found.
Mrs. Gu in the novel was indecisive, but no matter how difficult the choice, she would always pick an option other than Liu Jin’an in the end.
Even if Jiang Shulan was willing to favour him once, she would not have such deep hostility toward the protagonist group.
However, he waited for only one sentence: “It’s all a misunderstanding. This is my second son, and he is my youngest son. They are brothers, just joking.”
Liu Jin’an smiled. “Yes, let him go.”
He had repaid all the heavy debts of gratitude and owed nothing more.
“What kind of joke is that? Which brother can beat someone to death when they’re just joking around? Looking at everyone’s appearance, wearing gold and jade, turns out they’re all black-hearted dogs. Bah!”
A familiar voice penetrated the door panel.
Liu Jin’an looked up and saw Hu Jianye dragging his luggage, Hu Deyi holding a butcher’s knife, and Zhang Wenqian with her hands on her hips.
Against the light, they looked like Immortals descending the earth.
