Chapter 704: You Killed My Disciples!

The blood demon Chi Zu combed through the cultivators who managed to come back alive from the Domain, looking for the disciples affiliated with his sect.

But to his dismay, none of them made it out alive.

How did he know?

The portal closing behind those who came was the irrefutable proof that either no one inside was alive or, even if they were, they were trapped until the portal opened again next time.

Everyone stepped off the otherworldly lotus and walked off the cloud bridge. Once everyone stepped on the stone platform of the Jadebone peak.

The open folds of the lotus slowly closed up, returning to their budding state.

And then, the lotus bud slowly shrank back down inside the clouded valley.

The steps of clouds also dispersed into the thin air, leaving not even a glitter of trace behind.

Arhat Jingwu, the burly monk who had been watching over Chi Zu, making sure he did not make any move, tensed when he saw the withered old demon seething in anger.

"It's your three sects who are targeting my sect! Don't think that I won't retaliate just because I am in your territory!" The blood demon erupted towards Abbot Liang Chen. His eyes went bloodshot while his aura grew, boiling in rage.

Woosh!

Before the burly monk could even react, his figure shot towards the oldest monk, a crimson scythe forming within his grasp.

Elder Meng Shui and Elder Lei appeared before Abbot Liang Chen and conjured an illusionary lotus, facing the incoming strike and a rolling domain of storm clouds and gale.

"Thousand-petal illusionary lotus!"

"Thundering Punishment Domain!"

Crackle!

Boom!

Thunder churned in the clouds before it struck the ground in front of them, forming a defensive wall of lightning.

The bloody scythe cleaved through Lotus with difficulty and was finally stopped by the lightning wall.

Woosh!

The destroyed lotus did not vanish; the countless small petals on the lotus turned into small knives and flew towards the blood demon.

"Blood curse—" Chi Zu growled in annoyance and raised his left hand, aiming at his right wrist. Just when he was about to slash across his wrist, a huge aura enveloped the area.

"That's enough!" Liang Chen's hoarse voice echoed through the temple.

Woosh!

The sound of morning bells echoed all around the mountain and inside the valley. The air tensed as a golden bell condensed around the blood demon, trapping him inside the copper bell.

Hiss!

His aura started convulsing as if it had been set on fire. The blood scythe broke into countless fragments and vanished.

Liang Chen stepped forward with a solemn look on his old face. While walking, he glanced at the pale elders who stepped to defend him despite knowing the power difference between them and the blood demon.

They were also the reason he stepped forward to stop this fight. The blood trickling down from the corner of their lips and their pale faces were signs of the internal injuries they had suffered from the impact.

Despite having a shaky foundation and an unorthodox cultivation method, Chi Zu was a soul formation realm cultivator, and no one could deny that. The chasm between the soul formation level cultivators and the ones who are not yet in the realm is as vast as the bottom of a valley and the peak of the nearest mountain.

And even if they were able to fare well against the blood demon by the least bit of luck they had, the other innocent bystanders in the area would have suffered.

The simple act of him flaring his aura had brought more than half of them to their knees.

"Chi Zu, don't think we didn't understand what you were scheming when you wanted to send us inside the domain." The abbot spoke with a suggestive tone and waved his hand.

The transparent golden bell with ancient ruins carved all around it slowly lifted from the ground, leaving an imprint behind. Rising high in the air, it shrank and landed in Liang Chen's hand.

"Make another move…" He did finish his words, but a cold glint flashed through his blurry eyes.

Chi Zu gritted his teeth, but under Liang Chen's sharp gaze, he paused.

"You cannot expect me to not be angry when none of my sect members returned while almost all of yours are alive and well." Chi Zu bellowed in rage, pointing at the alive disciples of the three sects.

His chest heaved up and down, but the redness in his eyes had receded a lot.

Noah watched everything happening in the group with a light smirk on his face.

"This old man is really agitated." Elysia snickered, but no one seemed to have heard her words beside Noah. "I wonder what he will do if he knew that it was you who killed all of them."

Noah merely shook his head. He looked towards Xu Tianhua, who was standing right beside him, and asked, "How long does this usually last?"

The young monk tilted his head, confused, but soon he understood what Noah was asking and whispered back. "If the sect leader of the Blood Fiend Sect had not interfered, Master would have addressed everyone with a few words before sending them off.

At this point, the blood demon had backed off from confronting the three of them, knowing that he was at a disadvantage, but he did not seem to have any intentions of leaving; instead, his eyes suddenly turned towards the group of cultivators who left the domain.

To be precise, he was looking directly at Noah, who sensed his gaze and returned it.

"You…" The blood demon slowly cracked a bloodthirsty smile and raised his arm, pointing his finger at Noah. The representatives of the three greatest sects frowned at his action. "You have the faint aura of the Resentment Gu; that only happens when you kill the disciples of my sect!"

The faded aura from his body came flooding out like a river unleashed from a dam.

Boom!

"It was you, wasn't it! You killed my disciples." His raspy voice screeched in everyone's ears.
