Chapter 675: Xue Zhen's Death
Under the scorching heat of the sun that refused to move from its position above their heads, everyone looked at Noah and Elysia as if they had seen some kind of ghost.
"Impossible." Xian Mei blurted as soon as she heard that they had been there all along in her presence. Since she was the first one to reach this place from her point of view, she immediately thought that Noah was lying.
"As impossible as that person having a relationship with you?" Elysia pointed at Lei Yiran with her eyes and her arms crossed.
Xian Mei opened her mouth to retort, but when she thought about it, her words went back down. Feeling the sharp gaze of the young man they had been talking about, her eyes darted around, anywhere but in his direction.
With some hesitation, she closed her mouth as if to say what Elysia said made some sense.
Noticing the fuming rage brewing up in Lei Yiran's head, Xu Tianhua stepped forward and spoke, "Well, it does not matter whether these fellow Daoists were here from the start or not."
From the way everyone awake was listening to his words, it was clear they respected him enough to listen to what he had to say. Even the raging young master calmed down to listen to him.
As he was speaking, the disciples from the Blood Fiend Sect stirred awake from their cultivation state and saw everyone gathered in the front talking about something in secret.
Xue Zhen frowned seeing their action; a seed of paranoia took root in his mind.
The young woman beside him also did not seem to be in good spirits, seeing someone even more beautiful standing in front of her.
"Now that you all have healed up and reached your optimal state, I would suggest we move on and enter this temple." The Merciless Monk rolled the prayer beads in his clasped hands as he spoke.
Xian Mei immediately took the opportunity to get out of this awkward mess and nodded in agreement.
Lei Yiran kept grinding his teeth as he stared at Elysia as if she were a mortal enemy of his. But he was like a chihuahua, all bark and no bite.
So after some grumbling under his breath and some sharp glares thrown at Elysia, he backed away like someone was preventing him from fighting then and there.
"Finally…" Elysia whispered to Noah as she leaned on his shoulder for support, acting tired and exhausted.
When the disciple of the demonic sect, Xue Zhen, heard that they were planning to move on their own, he interjected with a cold laugh.
"Do you think you can leave us here and get all the good things for yourself?"
All eyes turned to look at him, but even under their weight, Xue Zhen did not falter. His eyes were filled with confidence, and his steps were filled with arrogance.
"We will go together with you guys, or we will not let you go in at all."
And then his eyes landed on someone he failed to see before, Elysia. He even completely ignored Noah, did not even pay attention to his appearance, let alone his cultivation.
Even if he did, he would have failed to sense anything, as Noah was in a class of his own. His power was something that not even the merciless monk could sense.
With his eyes fixed on Elysia, he appeared beside the group and slowly tried to move closer to her, very subtly, or so he thought. The lady behind him clenched her jaws in jealousy but silently stood behind him.
"Let's get going then." Seeing no one responding to his provocation, Xue Zhen thought he had gained some kind of moral ground to stand on and gestured for everyone to move.
"Daoist Noah," Xu Tianhua did not even pay attention to his presence and looked at the man who appeared out of nowhere and asked softly, "I wonder if you can clear a doubt I have."
Seeing Noah nod, he continued on asking.
"Since Fellow Daoist said that he has been here from the start and still has yet to enter this temple, you must know something that we don't, or I don't see any point in waiting here in the middle of nowhere for three days for us to gather."
At first no one appeared to be very curious about what he had to say, but in the middle of it, even the unrelated rogue cultivator looked at Noah with curiosity.
He had already sneaked into the ground when everyone was focused on Zue Zhen's arrogant declarations. He kept enough distance from all of them that allowed him to stay out of their attention.
But what he failed to realize was that everyone knew about his actions, but no one thought enough of him to pay attention to his actions unless he tried some underhanded things.
"Indeed," Noah did not hide what he knew and spoke with a carefree, laid-back smile. "From what I have discovered the first day I came here, we need five people at the bare minimum to open this door."
"If a single person tried to open this door through force, no matter their strength, they will be sent to some random location on the island until the time limit of the domain is over and they are sent out."
Xu Tianhua nodded thoughtfully. He knew Noah had no reason to lie to him, but what led him to believe Noah in the first place was that their temple had records related to this place.
Even though the records were not detailed and vague at best, he found out a thing or two about the Temple of Destiny from them.
Such as its name and all.
And while everyone was thinking about what Noah said and glancing at the big metallic gates in the front, the disciples of the demonic sects were up to their disgusting actions.
Xue Zhen paid little to no attention to Noah's words and kept staring at Elyisa. He licked the corner of his lips as his eyes, burning with undisguised heat, scanned the woman from head to toe.
Elysia frowned with a look of disgust on her face as she sensed a hand reaching out from behind her to touch her in the place she would only allow Noah to touch.
But even then she made no move, as she was aware someone else had already made it without even her needing to ask about it.
Just as Xue Zhen's sneaky hand was about to brush against her rear, Xue Zhen felt the weight in his hand increasing suddenly, his fingers lowered before they could even reach their destination.
He looked down at his hand only to see it falling to the ground.
Thud!
Hearing the dull groan, everyone turned to look at the man and instantly realized what had happened. Xian Mei's eyes narrowed in repulsion. 'What a disgusting guy! Did that woman make a move?'
"Master Xue! Who did this?" The woman beside him cried out in panic.
Xue Zhen's pupils dilated, his lips quivered, and his legs bent to the point they almost gave out. He clenched his arm around the place it was severed and planted his feet in the ground, pressing hard.
Yet, surprisingly, no blood came out of his wound. Instead, a red, burning seal of blue fire seemed to have been gnawing at his arm.
"You almost went in, but it looks like you were fated for someone else than entering the temple." Noah stepped in front of Elysia with a blank look on his face. "I held back a lot from killing you the moment you laid your filthy eyes on her."
Snap!
