Chapter 420: Shisan Wakes up
On one hand, it was the safety of her son, and on the other hand, it was her word to Xin Yan. Even if Xin Yan said she did not mind her backing down now, Wu Ping herself did not feel good about going back on her own words.
Wu Ping's eyes moistened, perplexed by the decision she had to make. As she racked her brain, she recalled the scene where she was running away from the beasts.
In the desperate moments of her life, it was Xin Yan who saved her. Then she recalled the reason she wanted to serve under a woman like Xin Yan.
'Can I really have it?' she thought, glancing at Xin Yan's calm face. Her mind started to calm down as she reached a decision.
"Please let me be your maid!" Wu Ping lowered her head to Xin Yan and exclaimed out loud. Xin Yan's lips curled upwards, hearing her words.
"There is no going back now~" Wu Ping raised her head, hearing the cheery tone in her voice. "Let's go now. I will have to introduce you to everyone in the sect."
With a tap of her fingers on the wall, the carriage moved onwards. Since Wu Ping was a mortal and not someone marked by the array, she did not even see any sect on the mountain because of the formation.
She was startled upon seeing the scene before her eyes changed as if she had teleported to a very different world.
Your journey continues with empire
Her breathing started to get rigid as the air around her got thicker and heavier. She placed her hands on her chest to take a deep breath.
Before she knew it, she was getting used to the air. Not only that, but she started to feel all the restlessness and fatigue from her body slowly disappearing.
Seeing the scene, a smile appeared on Xin Yan's face. She controlled the chariot with her soul sense and lowered it to land on the wide training platform.
"Madam lives in this mansion?" Leaving the artifact, Wu Ping's eyes widened when she saw the huge mansion almost the size of their settlement, excluding the training spaces and other places around it.
"This is our sect. Welcome to the Benevolent Guardian Sect!" Xin Yan introduced her with a smile on her face. When the carriage was empty, Xin Yan stored it inside her storage ring.
"What's his name?" Glancing at the boy in Wu Ping's arms, Xin Yan asked curiously.
"It's Wu He, Madam!" Wu Ping replied with a warm smile.
*Boom!*
"Wha–" Just as the two of them were walking towards the entrance of the mansion, Wu Ping shook hearing the loud explosion coming from inside the sect.
Xin Yan waved her hand and covered them in her soul sense, stopping the noise from waking up the boy.
"Is… is there an enemy attack?" Scared, Wu Ping looked at Xin Yan while tightly holding her son. Just as she spoke, she saw another explosion going off, throwing debris in all directions.
*Boom!*
*Boom!*
"Not at all~" Wu Ping froze seeing the smile on Xin Yan's face. Even though her lips were curled upwards, her eyes were not smiling at all.
The coldness in her eyes caused Wu Ping to shiver in fright and even take a step backward.
"Come follow me closely." Xin Yan looked at Wu Ping, her smile becoming warm for a second until she faced back forward.
'Did I really make the correct choice coming here?' Wu Ping thought, looking at the fierce-looking attacks flying in the air. She looked at Xin Yan's back which was getting farther away from her and rushed towards her. 'What did I get myself into…'
Xin Yan opened the gates to the mansion and led the maid straight towards the main hall where she could sense everyone present.
For a while, she did not hear the sound of any explosion, so she thought that the fight had stopped.
Standing before the door, Xin Yan glanced at the scared maid following behind her before reaching for the door and pulling the...
*Boom!*
"So what are you going to say to her?" Noah glanced at Wuhan as he slowly undid the seal he had placed on Shisan.
Ming Ye and Ruo'er stood in the far back of the room because the old man suggested it was safe for Wuhan to talk to the woman when there were not many people beside him.
Noah had to agree that the old man was quite crafty in his own way. He wanted to join them as well, but Wuhan would not let him go away no matter what excuses he used.
"I will tell her what we told the rest," Wuhan replied with a confident look on his face. "She deserves to know what happened."
Ming Ye, who heard his words, almost facepalmed himself. Ruo'er appeared confused, seeing her grandfather's odd reaction.
Noah, startled by his words, wanted to say something, but a voice interrupted him. "Umm…"
Shisan's eyes moved under their lids before she started to wake up.
'Where am I…' She flinched, seeing the light all of a sudden. Opening her eyes, she stared blankly at the ceiling above her head for a second.
Soon, the memories of everything that happened before she was knocked out started to play in her mind.
Her eyes started to widen as she recalled the face of the woman who thrashed her in a fight before she could even make a move.
The last thing she remembered was the pained look on Song Liu's face.
"Shisan…"
*Woosh!*
Hearing her name, Shisan's body moved instinctively. Her figure, enveloped in dark energy, moved like a snake before appearing behind Wuhan. Her hand, which was about to stab him like a knife in the neck, was stopped by a transparent barrier.
"It's me… calm down, Shisan. You are safe. Noah saved you all." Not minding her actions, Wuhan immediately asked her to calm down. He did not even remember that Shisan was not aware of Noah's identity.
