After 10 minutes of leaving them, Xin Yan reappeared before Wu Ping and the rest out of nowhere.

"What are you doing here?" Despite knowing why the chief and the guards were guarding Wu Ping, she still asked anyway, wanting to give them a little hard time.

Chief Vel's eyes twitched after hearing Xin Yan's words. He did not expect her to say something like that all of a sudden. "Cough, we were just waiting for senior to come back. We cannot leave Wu Ping alone, and she did not want to go inside the settlement with us."

"Madam!" Wu Ping rushed towards Xin Yan with a relieved smile on her face, her son still sleeping in her arms. She had already steeled herself to serve as Xin Yan's maid.

Seeing the pink hue on his cheeks, Wu Ping was stunned, not expecting such a response from a cultivator like him for her.

But after thinking about it, she realized she did not hate the idea of meeting her little knight in shining armor. "I would be honored if you decide to visit."

"Be that as it may, the place we are going is surrounded by countless dangers. You would die before even entering our gates." Xin Yan glanced at Wu Ping and sighed, realizing what was happening. 'The boy might give up on his little crush knowing how difficult it is to reach that place.'

Hu Zhen's face paled. Clenching his hands into fists, he could not help but ask, "Just how strong do I have to be?"

Xin Yan, although stunned by the question, still replied, "At least Core Formation Realm. But even then, there is no guarantee that you would ever be able to find the gates of our sect."

Lightning struck the hearts of everyone present around her. Even Wu Ping, who was not a cultivator, knew about their ranks and how powerful they were from the stories of the people of the settlement.

'At least Core Formation Realm.' Chief Vel's face paled. Xin Yan became even more frightening in his mind. 'No wonder she did not seem dazed hearing that I am affiliated with the royal army. She is from one of the major sects! There is no other explanation!!'

"How about this… If you really want to meet Wu Ping again, go to the capital city." Hu Zhen's ears perked up, and he looked at Xin Yan in disbelief as she continued. "Join the royal army and rise through the ranks. One day, you will eventually meet her."

Hu Zhen could not say anything… he just kept staring at Wu Ping and Xin Yan, starting to think how long the journey would take for him just to reach the Core Formation Realm, let alone rise in the rankings of the royal army.

But then he saw the worried look on Wu Ping's face and something magical happened. All of his doubts vanished all of a sudden. He did not even care how long it would take him to see her again; he just cared about one thing.

'I want to see her again!'

"I will adhere to the senior's words!" Hu Zhen cupped his hands and bowed to Xin Yan. "I will keep getting stronger, no matter how long it takes."

Wu Ping's heart moved, seeing the flare of determination in the eyes of the young man. 'What did I do to deserve the affection of this person?'

She wondered while clenching her chest with her hands. Xin Yan's lips curled upwards behind the mask as she waved her hand.

"Let's go!" Signaling Wu Ping, Xin Yan walked forward and waved her hand.

The air in the area shifted as a huge chariot appeared before everyone's eyes. Seeing the flying artifact, Chief Vel's eyes flashed with a glint of light. 'There is no doubt about it anymore, she is from one of the major sects!'

After Xin Yan entered the artifact, she placed a number of spirit stones on its wall that got swallowed into light.

"How long are you going to stay dazed? Get up!" Seeing Wu Ping still gawking at the chariot in a daze, Xin Yan shook her head and called out to her.

With an embarrassed look, the maid boarded the chariot before it started to rise in the air and flew away, forming a streak of light.

"Miss Wu Ping… We will meet again!" Hu Zhen muttered while gazing at the distant sky with a will to get stronger blazing in his heart.

Chief Vel glanced at the young man and shook his head silently in disappointment before turning around to leave with the rest of the guards.
