Chapter 410: Song Liu's Identity!
Wuhan's heart sank deeper with every word Noah spoke. His mind struggled to process the scene before him, the dungeon's dim light casting haunting shadows on Song Liu's chained figure. He could feel the anger boiling inside him, but he tried to keep his composure.
"Why? Why is she chained?" Wuhan's voice trembled with a mix of rage and despair. He started to feel suffocated like his chest was no longer wide enough to hold his heart.
Noah took a deep breath, steadying himself before continuing. "When we reached the place, everyone else was unconscious, starting the initial stages of the curse, just as expected. But Song Liu... she was awake, meaning she was already past those stages."
Wuhan's aura started to wane away under the burden of the cold hard truth. With a look of disbelief, Wuhan turned around and glanced at Song Liu, who was still looking at Noah, her eyes filled with uncertainty and wariness.
"But that is not all…" Noah's voice was steady despite the pain. Wuhan's expression changed drastically as he continued to listen to Noah. Song Liu also looked at Noah with a hint of disbelief, wondering who he was.
…
*Bang!*
*krrrrr!*
"What did that kid do to make you like that?" Ming Ye asked with a light strained chuckle, looking at the woman standing before him.
Ruo'er also looked a bit scared as she looked at Xin Yan standing in the middle of the room. She was more confused than scared. With her head lowered, Xin Yan stood rooted to the ground with her head lowered.
Her dragon eyes reined with fury and darkness fixed at the cracks on the floor spreading like cobwebs underneath her feet.
Ming Ye, just as confused as Ruo'er, tried to speculate why Xin Yan would suddenly slam her feet on the ground forming a half-meter deep and two-meter wide crater, abruptly scaring them in the process.
'Can she see through the walls of the room, even when I cannot peer through it with my soul sense?' A momentary thought flashed through the old man's mind. The more he thought about it, the more plausible it sounded to him.
Without saying anything, Xin Yan removed her foot from the crater and turned to walk out of the room.
"Where are you going?" asked Ming Ye. This time his voice contained a hint of sharpness. Xin Yan stopped in her steps and slowly looked over her shoulder. "Even if I wanted to kill that bastard, what can you do about it?"
Xin Yan's eyes turned vertical as she scowled at Ming Ye. Her breath was so icy that it froze the air when it came in contact with it. Even though Ming Ye was sweating from the pressure he was feeling from Xin Yan, he did not back down at all.
Xin Yan, on the other hand, caught the sight of Ruo'er looking at the two of them with a worried look on her face. Clicking her tongue, she turned around to face the gates and added, "I will be back soon."
Her voice almost sounded like a whisper that drifted away from the room with the air, just like Xin Yan, who disappeared from the room without leaving a trace behind.
Ruo'er glanced at the place Xin Yan stood before and smiled tenderly. She felt a warm feeling budding in her knowing that Xin Yan backed away in consideration of her feelings. Ming Ye just wiped the cold sweat from his face, thanking the heavens that he almost escaped the thing he had been pursuing his whole life.

Wuhan silently sat there on the ground of the cell, processing everything Noah had just revealed to him. His eyes swirled with complicated emotions as he looked down at the unconscious woman lying in her lap.
Wuhan's shoulders slumped, the weight of his emotions pressing down on him. He took a deep breath and looked at the boy sitting opposite him, leaning against the bars. "I know you told me that after the curse reaches the depth of a soul, there won't be any wave of that soul but is there any hope? Even the slightest?"
Noah, who seemed to be in some kind of daze, snapped out of it upon hearing Wuhan's words. He was now back to his human form but there were still some traces of blood on his body.
"Noah?" Wuhan called him one more time.
After a moment of silence, Noah nodded his head. "Even though it is by a long shot, there might be a way."
"What way?" Wuhan's eyes shone with hope hearing Noah's words.
"It's not a way but a delay tactic." Noah immediately poured cold water on Wuhan's expectation. He did not want his friend to chase after some fake cure. "We will make her grow stronger. The stronger she gets, the more time we get to find her cure. Who knows, at some point, her soul might get too strong for the curse and swallow it whole."
Wuhan was left stunned by Noah's idea. As crude as it sounded, there was not much he could do.
"Before you make up your mind about anything, let me tell you something." Wuhan wanted to speak up but Noah interrupted him, "She is cursed." Continue your journey with empire
"What are you getting at? I know that." Wuhan asked with a confused look on his face.
"She is cursed. That means she has a target on her back, as do the others I have saved. In the eyes of the cult members, they are still cursed. They will continue to think so until they meet them face to face." Wuhan instantly understood what Noah wanted to convey.
"But when they come face to face with them, only little Liu would be the one they would find cursed."
"Yes, who knows what they would do to get her out of here. So I want you to think this through." Said Noah, looking deeply into Wuhan's eyes. "Are you sure you want her to go through this? After all, as you just told me, she is your AUNT!"
