Genshin Impact: Transmigrated as Furina's Second Personality

Chapter 93: The Final Strike

Snezhnaya had sent the Fatui to blockade Fontaine for so long that the economic, societal, and security impacts were profound. The people of Fontaine were brimming with suppressed anger, and only revenge could provide an outlet for that rage.

With Felina's command, the counterattack on Snezhnaya began.

That day, countless eyes turned skyward as missiles, like shooting stars flying in reverse, soared from various locations in Fontaine, streaking toward Snezhnaya.

Meanwhile, in Snezhnaya:

The Doctor's four segments had already sent intel about the missiles back to Snezhnaya.

The revelation that Fontaine possessed such terrifying weaponry caused an uproar among Snezhnaya's leadership.

Even the Tsaritsa had not anticipated that Fontaine had been hiding such a trump card.

The question of whether Fontaine's missiles could reach Snezhnaya split the Fatui executives into two camps.

One side argued that while Fontaine's missiles were undeniably formidable, they likely couldn't cover such long distances; otherwise, the missiles would have been used already.

The other side contended that, with Fontaine having declared war, it now had the justification to launch missiles. They couldn't gamble on the missiles' range—what if Fontaine could reach them?

The debate was heated, but in the end, the Tsaritsa made the decision.

She concluded that they couldn't risk Snezhnaya's citizens' lives on the assumption that Fontaine's missiles had limited range.

If the missiles couldn't reach, that would be ideal—but what if they could?

With no way to predict when the missiles might arrive, time was of the essence.

Under the Tsaritsa's orders, the Fatui executives began organizing craftsmen and experts to construct defensive measures.

And the Tsaritsa was right—time was running out.

After the missile strike in the desert, Felina held a brief meeting with the other nations' leaders and representatives, publicly executed the Doctor's segments, and spent a total of one hour in preparation.

Although Fontaine was far from Snezhnaya, even missiles flying at Mach 10 would take time to reach their destination.

At that moment, most of Snezhnaya's citizens had no idea what was about to happen.

Missiles were so far beyond their comprehension that they couldn't imagine Fontaine delivering such a strike within an hour across thousands of kilometers.

And telling the populace the truth now would only incite panic without any meaningful benefit.

Life in Snezhnaya continued as usual. Apart from the hurried deployment of defensive structures in some streets, there was no indication of the impending calamity.

But such mundane normalcy didn't last long.

Through the blinding snowstorm, a streak of crimson light pierced the sky. Dragging a long tail behind it, the missile roared with a deafening howl, like a dragon tearing through the blizzard, before slamming into the ground at incredible speed.

Boom!!

A massive explosion rocked the earth, shaking heaven and land alike.

The hastily erected defenses constructed by the Fatui executives and experts shattered instantly under the immense impact.

The violent tremors sent countless people tumbling to the ground, their terrified screams echoing.

A surge of searing heat swept over them, but the Tsaritsa's intervention shielded the masses from the wave of destruction, sparing many lives.

Yet before anyone could catch their breath, a second missile descended with an even more menacing roar.

The Fatui executives' faces darkened. Without hesitation, they shot into the sky, launching barrages of attacks toward the missile's trajectory.

But as with Raiden Ei slicing a missile, their strikes hit their mark—only to cause the missile to detonate mid-air.

The explosion lit up the sky with brilliant fire.

Flames expanded like a tidal wave, engulfing everything in their path. The shockwave swept outward in all directions, obliterating everything in its wake.

The once-gentle snowfall ceased under the oppressive heat and force of the blast. The clouds dispersed, and even distant snow-capped mountains trembled, triggering avalanches from the violent tremors.

The weakest among the Fatui Harbingers, Tartaglia, the Eleventh Seat, was sent flying to the ground like a dark streak under the force of the explosion's impact.

Even the other Harbingers suffered varying degrees of injury.

Despite the Tsaritsa exerting her full power to prevent the flames and shockwaves from spreading to the civilians below, the tremors alone caused numerous buildings to collapse, eliciting terrified screams from the populace.

This was the insidious nature of the Arkhe Elemental Missiles—if you tried to block them, they would detonate upon collision. If you attacked them, they would explode when their outer shell was compromised.

Even the Tsaritsa's power over ice proved insufficient. The missiles' speed of Mach 10 generated immense heat and devastating impact, making it impossible to freeze them in time.

The third missile struck.

The fourth missile descended.

The Ninth Harbinger, Pantalone, was grievously injured and fell from the sky.

The fifth missile landed.

The Fifth Harbinger, Pulcinella, collapsed unconscious, severely wounded.

With each missile strike, the Harbingers endured increasingly serious injuries, until one by one, they could no longer withstand the onslaught and plummeted from the sky.

The sixth missile detonated.

The Seventh Harbinger, Sandrone, was critically injured, falling unconscious.

The remaining segments of the Doctor, the Second Harbinger, vomited blood before crashing heavily to the ground, unconscious and severely injured.

The seventh missile fell.

The Third Harbinger, Columbina, coughed up blood and descended, barely able to stand, utterly spent and incapable of further combat.

The eighth missile struck.

The Harbinger overseer, Pierro, could no longer endure. His body was mangled, and he plummeted to the ground, gasping for air, grievously wounded.

Even the Tsaritsa herself, after joining forces with the Fatui Harbingers to block eight missiles, had sustained significant injuries. Disheveled and battered by the shockwaves and searing heat, her divine form showed signs of strain.

At this moment, whether it was the Harbingers who still clung to consciousness or the countless citizens of Snezhnaya, they all gazed up at the Tsaritsa in a daze.

Eight missiles. The explosions and waves of fire had not directly harmed them, but they had obliterated their pride and so-called honor.

The fire that painted the sky red, the thunderous explosions, and the earth-shaking tremors—had it not been for the desperate resistance of their Tsaritsa and Harbingers, they and their homes would have long since been consumed by the flames.

Now, they could only stare blankly at the one figure still standing firm in the sky—their god.

Even as the Tsaritsa's body trembled faintly, filling them with despair, they prayed that she would persevere.

The missiles were terrifying enough, but what was even more dreadful was the uncertainty of how many more would come.

The endless barrage, one missile after another, was the true source of their despair.

"Is it over?"

When no further missiles descended, people trembled with relief, some even bursting into tears of joy.

But just as they began to rejoice at having narrowly escaped death, another roar echoed through the air.

...

At the gates of Fontaine's Palais Mermonia.

Zhongli, Mavuika, and Venti all gazed upward at the missiles streaking toward Snezhnaya. Even though they had already witnessed the devastating scenes of missile strikes, the sight of light beams ascending straight into the sky still filled their hearts with awe.

"Miss Furina, that last missile seems... different from the others," Mavuika remarked.

The others had noticed it too—the final missile was slimmer and much longer than the others.

Seeing someone take the initiative to ask, Felina was happy to explain. "You all know about the Divine Nails, right? Well, that last missile contains one of them."

Her tone was calm, but to the gods present, her words were like thunderclaps. Their faces changed dramatically.

Beside her, Jean noticed their reactions and curiously asked what the Divine Nails were.

Venti answered first, "Do you know Dragonspine? Long ago, that place wasn't the frozen wasteland it is now. It was full of life, home to a unique civilization. But after a Divine Nail fell there, it became eternally shrouded in ice and snow."

Nearby, Keqing turned to Zhongli and asked, "Rex Lapis, what exactly are these Divine Nails?"

Zhongli nodded solemnly. "Liyue's ancient texts record that the Chasm was once a bountiful region. The ancestors of the Guili Plains lived there, thriving amidst its abundance—until the day a Divine Nail fell from the heavens onto that land."

"That once-fertile region became inhospitable, forcing its people to migrate, leading to the establishment of what we now call the Chasm."

"The Divine Nails, as the name suggests, are objects capable of severing the ley lines of the land. They possess unfathomable power. Once they descend, an area within a hundred-mile radius will have its ley lines severed, its environment drastically altered, and its lands rendered uninhabitable."

Hearing this, the assembled individuals instinctively took a sharp breath, nearly contributing to global warming across all of Teyvat.

Now, it became clear: this thing was an even greater weapon of destruction than the missiles themselves.

While missiles, for all their power, inflicted damage that could eventually be rebuilt over time, the Divine Nail would transform vast regions into barren wastelands, permanently uninhabitable. Its destructive capabilities were both staggering and irreversible.

Zhongli, watching the missile carry the Divine Nail toward Snezhnaya, found himself silently grateful.

When he and Felina had negotiated in the past, she had expressed interest in acquiring the Spiritstone buried deep within the Chasm.

At the time, Zhongli had sensed something was amiss. The Divine Nails were divine objects of Celestia, feared by both gods and mortals alike. Felina's request for the Divine Nail was, to him, an alarming deviation from the norm.

Not knowing what she intended to do with it, Zhongli had ultimately refused her request.

Now, seeing the missile streaking toward Snezhnaya, he finally understood why she had wanted it—and silently thanked himself for having kept it in Liyue's hands. Otherwise, he doubted he would be able to sleep soundly at night.

Felina, catching the unease written on their faces, felt a deep satisfaction in her heart. Still, she said nothing more, offering only a smile. "Well then, everyone, I must be off to Snezhnaya now. Please excuse me."

With that, she invoked the Law of Acceleration, her body bursting upward as she sped toward the distant land of Snezhnaya.

...

The long missile continued its ascent into the skies, eventually reaching Snezhnaya's airspace. At its peak, the missile's engines shut down, and the casing began ejecting bursts of flame, adjusting its trajectory for the final descent.

As the missile's warhead tipped downward, its engines reignited, accelerating it toward the ground below.

...

Snezhnaya

After enduring eight missile strikes, the sky was left with only the Cryo Archon standing alone.

The fiery explosions of the missiles had burned away all of Snezhnaya's pride and glory.

In the face of such overwhelming destruction, they were utterly insignificant, powerless to act.

One missile after another descended, bringing with them a despair and terror that seemed endless.

If those falling projectiles were the judgment of gods, then the people of Snezhnaya could only pray for divine mercy, begging to be spared.

Their eyes fixed on the Cryo Archon hovering in the sky. Though they could see her body trembling faintly, they still placed all their hopes on her perseverance.

The Harbingers had all fallen. She was their last and only hope.

After the eighth missile was intercepted, two full minutes of silence followed, enough to make them believe that the assault had finally ended.

But just as they began to feel relief, the familiar sound of something tearing through the air rang out once again.

All hearts clenched tightly once more.

The Cryo Archon gazed skyward, her expression grave. What descended this time was not the usual cone-shaped warhead—it was the entire, elongated missile body.

Instinct told her that this missile was far different from the previous eight, more dangerous and extraordinary. She summoned all her strength and prepared herself.

At that moment, the accelerating descent created unbearable heat, causing the missile's casing to disintegrate in midair.

Fragments and debris scattered across the sky, and what had been hidden inside the missile was finally revealed: the Divine Nail.

The Divine Nail, imbued with unique power, emerged, trailing a shimmering blue light as it plummeted straight toward Snezhnaya at nearly Mach 5.

The Heavenly Principles.

These two words struck fear into the hearts of all in Snezhnaya—they were perhaps the most sensitive words in their entire history.

And now, this Divine Nail represented the might of the Celestia.

No one—not the Cryo Archon, nor anyone in the world—could have imagined that the Hydro Archon would dare to tamper with Celestia power, let alone weaponize a Divine Nail for an attack.

When the Cryo Archon saw the Divine Nail, fear flashed across her face for the first time.

She knew all too well the consequences if the Divine Nail struck Snezhnaya.

If it fell, the ley lines would rupture, the region would descend into chaos, and the city-state would be obliterated.

Such devastation was something she could not afford to bear.

Without a moment's hesitation, she surged upward toward the sky.

The blue glow of the Divine Nail was faint, almost serene, while the Cryo Archon, unleashing her full strength, radiated a brilliance as dazzling as a blazing sun.

Yet at this moment, the Cryo Archon, soaring toward the Divine Nail, resembled nothing more than a moth rushing into the flame.
