Chapter 50: Chapter 042: Return to the Feather
Relocating Liyue was no simple task. It required significant time and effort to accumulate the necessary resources and planning.
It was impossible to simply ask the people to abandon their original cities and farmland to follow Morax and Vorthis as they moved to the new city on the Guili Plains.
Thus, we had to plan it step by step.
"Hmm, Brother Morax is right. Now that all three of us gods are present, how about we discuss a suitable plan for Liyue's relocation?" Vorthis said, looking at Guizhong and Morax.
Guizhong agreed.
"Indeed, this is an important matter for the people, so it deserves thorough discussion."
"That's true," Morax said.
Guizhong smiled and added, "In the future, this entire Guizhong territory will be jointly shared by the three of us. If we still call it Guizhong territory, it might not be quite fitting anymore."
"As for the name of the territory, I have no particular objections," Morax said.
After all, the territory was provided free of charge by Guizhong, the God of Dust. He wouldn't have any strong opinions on the name.
Vorthis nodded. "Right, right. Sister Guizhong, you decide! I have no objections to whatever name you choose!"
From Guizhong's naming habits, Vorthis already had a rough idea of what the name of the shared territory would be.
It would just be one word added to mine!
"Is that so? If both of you have no opinions and leave it all to me..."
"Then I'll have to think carefully," Guizhong said, her eyes sparkling.
Meanwhile, she was already mulling over the name for the new territory in her mind.
After a while of thinking, Guizhong chose one of over a hundred names from her thoughts that she felt would be the most fitting.
"I've thought of one!"
"Since this territory will be jointly shared by the three of us gods, how about we each take one character from our names and use it for the territory's name?"
"'Gui' comes from my name, Guizhong."
"'Yu' comes from the name of Zennoz, Vorthis."
"'Mo' comes from the name of Morax."
"How about calling it Guīyúmo?"
Guizhong eagerly looked at Vorthis and Morax.
Guīyúmo? What on earth is that?
Wait, something doesn't seem right! This feels all wrong!
Vorthis nearly spat out his ice-cold soda in surprise.
He managed to hold back, but if he hadn't, he'd have ended up spraying Morax with ice-cold soda. The thought of the scene was too ridiculous to even imagine.
But he felt like he'd be chased down and beaten up for sure.
"Eh? What's wrong? Is there something odd about it?"
Guizhong noticed Vorthis's strange reaction and asked him.
Morax, although he felt the name wasn't quite perfect either, kept his feelings to himself.
"Why is it that both of us are using characters from our names, but Brother Morax is using the name of the God?"
"No, no, this isn't harmonious or unified."
"In my opinion, Brother Morax should also pick a name for himself, a name to walk the world by!"
Vorthis explained.
The pressure was now on Morax.
Morax was taken aback. Should I come up with a name for myself to walk the world by?
Guizhong, the God of Dust, Vorthis, the God of Manifestation.
If I still go by the name Morax, it might make me seem a bit out of place. It's just one name, after all.
Morax rubbed his chin, thinking for a while, then gave his answer.
"In that case, how about calling me Zhongli?"
Vorthis wasn't particularly surprised by Morax's choice, as he knew Morax would select Zhongli as his name to walk the world.
Even though Morax had used various aliases during undercover visits, the name Zhongli was the one that most truly represented him.
"Zhongli? That's a nice-sounding name."
"Well then, from now on, this territory will be called Guīyúlí!"
"And the new city we build here will be named Guīyúlí City!"
Guizhong said with a smile.
Morax nodded slightly. "The name is settled. Now, we need to discuss how to carry out the relocation in an orderly manner."
"You two go ahead, I'll just listen."
Vorthis leaned on the table, staring at the bubbling soda in his glass, completely slacking off.
Morax was used to Vorthis's attitude, and Guizhong would get used to it over time.
The two of them then began to discuss the most reliable way to carry out the relocation.
After about an hour, the plan was finalized after discussions between Guizhong and Zhongli.
The plan was simple and reliable.
However, Vorthis didn't like it much, because the plan involved some tasks that were inconvenient for him.
Why?
Because during the relocation, Morax would stay in the original Liyue, and Guizhong would stay in the current Guīyúlí, while Vorthis would be responsible for guarding the teams heading to build the new city and transporting supplies.
When Vorthis heard this plan, he almost forgot about his soda. His head swayed like a rattle, and he immediately rejected it.
However, with both Guizhong and Morax making a unanimous decision, Vorthis's opposition was in vain!
Since it was futile to oppose, what could Vorthis do?
Fight?
Forget it, it's not worth ruining the harmony.
It's not like I can't fight! Vorthis had never fought at full strength, so he wasn't even sure how well he would perform in battle.
But in terms of combat skills and experience, Morax was certainly superior.
In the end, Vorthis reluctantly accepted the task.
Once the plan was set, Vorthis and Morax left Guīyúlí and returned to Liyue.
The first thing Morax did upon returning to Liyue was gather the entire administrative structure to explain the details of the relocation.
As it was a request from the gods, the people who were under the gods' protection naturally had no objections.
Furthermore, Liyue was indeed facing a situation where expansion was impossible, and development was hindered.
The administrative structure quickly sprang into action, and soon, the news was spread throughout Liyue, and everyone expressed their full support.
When the construction teams were called, the citizens rushed to volunteer.
They all wanted to contribute to Liyue's construction and add their own strength!
Did you see that? Our gods need our help too! We, who have always enjoyed the protection of the Gods, can now assist our gods!
The people were filled with excitement.
Soon after, the first caravan heading to Guīyúlí was ready.
Before leaving, Vorthis said to Morax:
"Zhongli, I'm off. Don't miss me too much."
"Mm, stay safe."
Morax nodded slightly.
But in reality, with Vorthis's current strength, the nearby Gods wouldn't be able to pose much of a threat to him.
