Genshin Impact: The Gambler of Teyvat

Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Akasha Terminal

Suddenly, something seemed to occur to Lumine.

"Oh, right! Isn't it about time?"

Paimon scratched her head.

"Huh? Time for what?"

Lumine answered while walking ahead, her tone brimming with excitement.

"The Dance of the Sabzeruz is probably about to start, isn't it? It's the part of the whole Sabzeruz Festival I've been looking forward to the most~"

"Nilou will use the most graceful dance to reenact scenes from the myths. The Festival of the Little Lord Kusanali will end in cheers and blessings…"

"And then, my wish will…"

Paimon perked up too, now a bit impatient.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's get to the stage already!"

Lumine nodded eagerly.

"Yeah, we should still make it in time~"

"Wow~ So this is the famous Sumeru City?! It's absolutely incredible~"

Furina couldn't help but gasp in wonder. She tiptoed excitedly, trying to take in the full view of the mysterious city around her.

After a grueling three-day journey across the vast, wind-blasted desert, filled with endless sandstorms and hardships, Furina and Shajin—his face half-hidden behind a mask—finally arrived.

And now, with the grand and majestic Sumeru City unfurling before their eyes, all that exhaustion instantly faded away.

Most of the city's architecture was cleverly built upon a single, gargantuan ancient tree. From afar, the entire city looked as though it were one with the tree, forming a breathtaking and harmonious tableau.

The layered pavilions and towers, the winding bridges and streets, and the lush vegetation interspersed throughout—the seamless blend of nature and human ingenuity was awe-inspiring.

Sunlight filtered through the thick canopy above, casting dappled patterns onto the buildings below, adding a dreamlike sheen to this city of wisdom.

Furina stood in place, completely entranced, unable to snap out of her daze.

Meanwhile, Shajin received two Akasha Terminals from an informant within Sumeru.

He wore one himself, then handed the other to Furina.

She cradled it in her hands, examining it curiously.

"You scoundrel, what's this thing?"

Shajin explained,

"The Akasha System is the legacy left behind by the previous Dendro Archon, the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. It's a vast repository of knowledge."

"The Akasha Terminals are tools created by the Akademiya using her legacy. Some even say they're the very foundation of Sumeru's identity as the City of Wisdom."

"You just need to think about what you want to know, and it gives you the answer."

Eyes sparkling, Furina immediately put the terminal on her ear.

"This… this is amazing!"

Bouncing on her heels with excitement, she playfully skipped ahead, giggling all the while.

At the same time, Shajin casually raised a hand and brushed the Akasha Terminal on his own ear.

He let out a lazy yawn and muttered under his breath,

"Hmph, what a boring little trick~"

After all, the moment you wear the Akasha Terminal and fall asleep, the entire city of Sumeru would inevitably be pulled into a cycle called the "Sabzeruz Festival Samsara."

Even so, Shajin had no intention of removing it just yet.

After all, through this Samsara, he could roughly observe how far along Sumeru's current "script" had progressed.

Just then, his usually calm eyes suddenly flashed with a sharp, piercing light, like a streak of lightning splitting the sky.

A smirk tugged at the corner of his lips as he thought to himself,

So that's how it is… If Lumine and that Lesser Lord Kusanali haven't managed to break this "Samsara" yet, doesn't that mean I can keep slacking off here for a few more days?

The thought made him chuckle softly, already imagining a carefree, laid-back vacation ahead.

Furina turned around and waved at him.

"Hey! Scoundrel! Get moving already!!!"

Shajin nodded. With Furina watching in confusion, he snapped his fingers.

At that instant, golden ripples flickered briefly around the ears of everyone in Sumeru wearing an Akasha Terminal, then vanished without a trace.

"You lost little lambs… Have you perhaps lost your way on the path of life? Do you feel helpless in the face of an unknown future?"

The voice was crisp and ethereal, like the whisper of a deity drifting down from ancient times, lingering in the air like a song on the wind.

"The wise teachings of the gods often reach my ears like a spring breeze. And if today you are blessed by divine favor, then perhaps I, having glimpsed a sliver of fate, can lift the veil of fog before you… and guide you down the proper path."

As Shajin and Furina wandered leisurely through the streets, taking in the sights, a sudden voice reached their ears.

Following the sound, they spotted a peculiar figure standing at a stall not far ahead—a little "girl."

She was beaming brightly and waving enthusiastically at them.

Shajin raised an eyebrow, pointing at the girl who didn't even reach his chest.

"That… wouldn't happen to be the scammer everyone talks about in Sumeru, would it?"

The little "girl" instantly stomped her foot, cheeks puffing up in indignation as she shouted back,

"I am NOT a scammer! My name is Nabiya, and I am a legitimate, bona fide fortune-teller!!!"

Before she could even finish, two sharp meows rang out—

"Meow! Meow… meooow!!!"

In the blink of an eye, a sleek black cat and a graceful white one dashed toward them like streaks of lightning, heading straight for Shajin and meowing furiously in protest.

Nabiya blinked, momentarily stunned. Her expression quickly turned thoughtful, her big round eyes studying Shajin and Furina with a hint of suspicion.

"My, my… judging by Harut and Marut's reaction, they really don't seem to like you two. Could it be… you've done something sacrilegious?"

Shajin blinked, tilting his head with an innocent, puzzled expression.

"Now that you mention it, it has been a while since I last chopped up a monst—"

"Mmgh!"

Furina slapped a hand over his mouth. Who knew what kind of horrifying nonsense he was about to say next?

Nabiya tilted her head and chuckled, complimenting the two.

"Aww, you two must be really close~"

"Just now, that gentleman said—"

Furina quickly waved her hands.

"It's nothing, nothing! Just pick a topic for your fortune-telling already."

At that, Nabiya immediately slipped into character…
