Genshin Impact: The Daily Life of Inazuma's Youkai

Chapter 88: 88: Thunder Pill

Back in Inazuma, Raiden Makoto, unusually diligent, tackled work instead of delegating to her clone and wandering. Reisen Riou submitted Seven Archons' Banquet and Sumeru visit records to the Shogunate Archives. Sensitive details went to restricted sections, while the rest were edited by archivists for Inazuma's historical records. His role ended with backing up non-sensitive files in his office.

Makoto's diligence made Reisen Riou's job tedious, with no breaks to go home, practice Adeptal arts, or chase his nagging déjà vu. "Life's tough," he sighed, sipping tea, watching Okuzume soldiers stand motionless for four-hour shifts. Their discipline awed him.

Stuck, he mentally refined his Electro-based healing youkai art, inspired by Ganyu's Cryo healing. Electro was the trickiest element for healing, as its stimulation mimicked attacks, risking harm without precise control and high Electro resistance in the recipient. Reisen Riou considered pairing it with Naku Weed, an Inazuma herb thriving in Electro-rich environments, known for muscle regeneration and hemostasis, used in exorcism rituals as woven grass rings. Even low-ranking shrine maidens favored these for healing and warding off spirits.

He scrapped the idea—relying on herbs defeated the purpose, though the effect might surpass raw Naku Weed. He logged it in Thunderous Yougou Divine Machine for One System, Ten Thousand Minds to refine later via Ritou's shrine maidens, who could channel elemental energy, albeit weakly, like Liyue's alchemists or elemental apothecaries, far below Vision holders.

Focusing, he found a breakthrough: simulating Naku Weed's healing with Electro. What seemed absurd worked theoretically. His brain and Thunderous Yougou Divine Machine churned, pulling human anatomy, elemental techniques, and herb data from One System, Ten Thousand Minds. The theory grew, incorporating methods to treat common ailments and halt terminal diseases.

He named it Youjutsu: Immortal Thunder Pill Technique, a persistent art forming an Electro-simulated pill mimicking multiple herbs' effects, theoretically curing all diseases and boosting immunity. With actual herbs, it could refine a healing artifact, Thunder Pill, amplifying effects. It mimicked Ganyu's Cryo energy, tamed for youkai volatility. Its complexity—simulating countless herbs—was daunting, only feasible with One System's data.

For Ritou's shrine maidens, he split it into simpler arts: Naku Grass Binding for exorcism and external wounds, Glaze Lily Harmonization for internal injuries, Mushroom Longevity for blunt trauma and anti-aging, and others for fractures. Mastering these would ease learning the full Immortal Thunder Pill Technique.

Finishing, he noticed snow falling. Inazuma called snow "Winter General." "Winter already? Time flies," he mused. His Electro healing was done, but Geo remained. The Banquet, held in autumn for abundant resources and lighter divine schedules, was long past. Makoto's two-month work streak—keeping Reisen Riou on duty without a break—was unexpected. Only his youkai nature endured the grind.
