Genshin Impact: The 12th Fatui Harbinger

Chapter 105: Forgetful Qiqi, And the Unlucky Treasure Hoarders

Bai Luo had been wandering in the mountains with Qiqi for over two days. Perhaps it was because Bai Luo had gotten along quite well with her at Bubu Pharmacy, so she hadn't driven him away.

In this desolate wilderness, having a companion didn't seem bad? It was just that she often forgot his name and appearance; she could only identify him because of his all-black attire.

But the taste she called "sour," she remembered it clearly in her heart. This was because, besides hot and cold, it was the only taste she could perceive.

"What's your name?" This was the seventeenth time Qiqi had asked Bai Luo's name along the way. The girl would say she would remember it, but she always forgot for some reason.

For instance, at one point, after Bai Luo told her his name, she kept repeating it, trying to remember Bai Luo that way. "Bai Luo, Bai Luo, Bai Luo..." Who knew that after accidentally tripping on a loose stone in the mountain, the name in her mouth had changed when she stood up again.

"Luo Bai, Luo Bai, Luo Bai..." To this, Bai Luo could only sigh lightly. At least it was just the order that was wrong; she hadn't called him Bai Jie.

"You can just call me Xiao Bai."

"Xiao Bai..." A very familiar name, but she couldn't remember it. Check the notes... Ah, it's pressed under the basket, can't get it out.

Having the notebook pressed under the basket was not a good thing, because Qiqi's edicts were all written in the notebook. If she didn't frequently take it out to issue edicts to herself... some unexpected things would happen.

For example, now, Qiqi had already chased after a strange squirrel and disappeared. If Bai Luo hadn't left a mark on her, it would probably be very difficult to find her again.

When Bai Luo found her, she was crouching on the ground, her herbal shovel having dug a pit over a meter deep, and her body was covered in dirt. This was the downside of the edict; if no one helped to remove it, she would keep digging there until she caught that squirrel.

Unfortunately... she would probably never catch that squirrel, because that little thing wasn't a squirrel at all, but a Treasure Hoarder Weasel.

Sighing helplessly, Bai Luo stepped into the pit and lifted Qiqi, who was still digging. Even when picked up from behind, Qiqi's hands continued the digging motion, giving her a robotic feel.

"I like you the most." After picking up Qiqi, Bai Luo said this, and Qiqi, who had been continuously repeating the digging motion, finally stopped with a bewildered expression.

The edict was indeed a bother, but it wasn't without a solution. For instance, the words Bai Luo spoke when he picked her up from behind were the method to lift the edict.

"Luo Bai?" A hint of confusion appeared on her dirty little face. Qiqi looked at Bai Luo, who had put her back on the ground, tilted her small head, and called out his name. Probably his name.

"It's Bai Luo... whatever makes you happy." After being away from him for so long, she could still call out the name "Luo Bai." This girl must be trying very hard to remember him, right? It's better not to make it difficult for her.

The herbs in the basket had scattered all over the ground when she was digging, but that was fine; at least the notebook that was pressed underneath was retrieved.

After Bai Luo helped her collect the herbs, he also wiped the dirt from her face. As for the talisman stuck on her forehead, Bai Luo never dared to touch it. He didn't know what would happen if he peeled it off, so it was better not to court death.

"Xiao Bai... best friend. Hmm... same as Luo Bai." After flipping to the last page, little Qiqi pulled out a brush, licked it, and wrote this sentence in very neat handwriting. Besides this, there were some other notes.

Xiao Bai, best friend.

Ningguang, white, big, and yellow, is the Tianquan.

Yaoyao, like a small finch, tiny and cute, wants to raise one.

[A/N: Qiqi wants to raise Yaoyao]

Sunsettia, sour, delicious, wants to plant one.

Luo Bai, dark, best friend.

Coconut goat, milk is very white, very delicious, wants to raise one.

"Just now, the brothers were still wondering why their Treasure Hoarder Weasel was so panicked. Who knew... there would be an unexpected gain." As Bai Luo and Qiqi were tidying up, a sarcastic voice sounded from the side. At the same time, some ill-intentioned people emerged from the bushes, intending to surround the two.

Actually, when he saw the Treasure Hoarder Weasel, Bai Luo realized that there should be Treasure Hoarders nearby, as these small animals were the Treasure Hoarders' pets.

He had thought that the little fellow was hiding in the hole and hadn't come out yet, but he didn't expect it to have dug another exit and brought in reinforcements. It's just that these soldiers weren't very good.

"Mmm..." Seeing these Treasure Hoarders, Qiqi subconsciously reached for her sword. Because she occasionally encountered similar situations while gathering herbs, she had long ago issued an edict to herself that people like this should be taught a lesson. But Bai Luo lifted her edict at this moment.

"Leave it to me." After putting Qiqi down, Bai Luo pulled out his dagger from behind him and looked at the surrounding people.

Indeed, his "dark" state was not good at group combat, but it depended on the situation. If it was just some Treasure Hoarders, he wouldn't be troubled by them. At most, it would just require a few more swings of his dagger.

"You, seeing that you have a child with you, we won't make things difficult for you. Leave half of the herbs and then leave." Perhaps sensing Bai Luo's extraordinary nature, or perhaps having heard of Qiqi's situation, this group of Treasure Hoarders inexplicably became a little timid and proposed leaving the herbs as a condition.

This might sound a bit unbelievable, but looking at the herbs in Qiqi's basket, it wasn't surprising. Qiqi was not an ordinary herbalist child; the herbs she gathered were often in remote places.

Simply put... just this basket of herbs had considerable value. Half of the herbs could be considered a toll.

However, Bai Luo always plucked every feather from a passing goose; how could he be the one getting his feathers plucked? The shadowy figure flickered like a ghost next to the Treasure Hoarder, and his dagger had already plunged into the man's body, though he deliberately blocked this scene.

He didn't want the child to see this. Well... perhaps a child who was thousands of years old.

"Hmph..." The leader only felt a chill in his chest, and all his strength dissipated with that chill, which then spread throughout his body.

Under the bewildered expressions of the others, Bai Luo acted as if he was helping an elderly person who was about to fall, gently leaning the man, who was now coughing up foamy blood, against a tree.

"Who else wants to rest?" Shaking off the blood from his dagger, Bai Luo's mask had come down at some point, its pale, stark appearance resembling a grim reaper from the deepest abyss, sending a chill down anyone's spine.
