Genshin Impact: I'm The Envoy of Snezhnaya

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Wings of the Wind

"Reluctant to let her go? Then why did you send her away?" Lisa asked, watching the carriage slowly disappear beyond Mondstadt's walls.

On the surface, she was here to see Cyno off, but in reality, she was also keeping an eye on Bai Luo.

Who knew if this Snezhnayan instructor might pull something unexpected in the final moments?

"Not exactly… Just felt… nothing." Bai Luo finally replied, unable to find a solid reason after thinking about it.

There was no way Collei could stay by his side.

The enemies he faced were beyond anything she could imagine, and being near him would only put her in greater danger.

Moreover, the archon residue within Collei would be easier to treat at the Sumeru Akademiya. With him, she might even end up dissected by the mad scientist, Dottore.

Given all this, sending her to Sumeru was the only logical and emotional choice.

Initially, helping Collei wasn't only about making up for a past regret; Bai Luo also had his own goal: the Vision.

Yes, he'd foreseen that Collei would gain a Vision.

In fact, it was by his design that she was brought step-by-step closer to the conditions required to receive "the attention of the gods."

After studying Visions, Bai Luo had deduced a pattern in how people obtained them, finding that most people received a Vision at some major turning point in their lives.

For some, it was holding their newborn child, or learning a child wasn't their own.

Others found it during travels, as they came to understand the value of life, or at a moment of life-threatening crisis.

Then, there were the unusual cases, like someone accidentally activating one while trying to sell it, or another simply waking up with it stuck under them.

Collei had endured countless life-changing events: the hopelessness of near-fatal illness, a missionary's "rescue," learning about the archon residue within her and her mother's tragic death, and being saved by a mysterious figure.

She'd experienced so many highs and lows that, logically, she should've obtained a Vision by now.

But the so-called gods seemed blind to her plight, never once casting their gaze her way.

So when Bai Luo encountered her again, he decided to gamble. He would push her through a few more "turning points."

And, as it turned out, he won that gamble.

Bai Luo effectively held Collei up, pressing her against the proverbial forehead of the god, coaxing with, "Come on, just take a look. You won't be disappointed!"

Finally, unable to bear it any longer, the god gave in, casting a reluctant glance at Collei while silently acknowledging Bai Luo's provocation with a Dendo vision from Snezhnaya.

Collei received her Vision, and Bai Luo completed his experiment while achieving a significant accomplishment.

A double success—what a joyous occasion!

Only that so-called god seemed most affected by it all.

Bai Luo could sense a certain tacit support from the Tsaritsa herself.

For instance, when he targeted the missionary, not only did she not stop him, but she also helped suppress the archon residue within the man.

Was she testing something?

Perhaps… Bai Luo looked up at Celestia, visible from nearly every corner of Teyvat.

Perhaps the Tsaritsa testing their limits?

For now, though, it wasn't his concern.

As one of the Twelve Harbingers under the Tsaritsa, he knew that someday he'd face those beings himself.

But until then, he needed to grow stronger as fast as he could.

Watching Collei's carriage disappear beyond the horizon, Bai Luo finally turned back to the Goethe Grand Hotel to gather his things before leaving Mondstadt.

His mission for the Tsaritsa was complete, and he had no reason to stay.

It was time to return to Inazuma to slack off a bit.

"Hm?"

Upon returning, he noticed a gift box left on the bedside table.

After the Windblume Festival, Collei had left Bai Luo a gift that he hadn't had the chance to open in all his busy scheming.

"Could it be food…?" he wondered.

What else could a young girl like Collei have picked up during a festival but snacks or clothes?

Surely, it wasn't a toy.

Yet, the memory of her urging him to open it made him lean toward food—maybe something that wouldn't last long if left unopened.

When he finally opened the gift, what he found inside was a complete surprise.

"Wings of Azure Wind?!"

Indeed, lying quietly in the gift box was a pair of Mondstadt's iconic Wind Gliders.

When he first arrived in Mondstadt, Bai Luo had wanted to get a pair himself, but the Mondstadt Knights refused him, citing that "without passing the trial, unauthorized flying was not allowed." Even when he offered to undergo the trial, the Knights found excuses, making it clear they had no intention of letting him acquire the gliders.

But how did Collei get one? Could Amber have given it to her?

This type of exclusive Mondstadt wings wasn't easily obtainable.

Unlike the beginner wings, they were typically reserved for those who had made significant contributions to Mondstadt—almost like an honorary medal.

He vaguely remembered hearing something about a bandage-wrapped girl catching the Windblume bouquet.

Could that have been Collei? Was this her reward?

It was, indeed… an excellent gift.

The Wind Glider reminded him of another point: in Teyvat, those who possessed a Vision or a certain level of elemental mastery often had a special technique—the ability to summon their weapon at will.

Much like how Vision wielders could naturally use their powers, they could also "store" their weapons with a flick, making them vanish until needed.

Unfortunately, Bai Luo hadn't mastered this technique and still carried his daggers strapped to his waist.

But the Wind Glider was something special. It required no such mastery and was accessible even to regular people.

[Achievement Unlocked: "You Are All My Wings"]

[Reward Received: One-Winged Angel (Costume)]

Hearing the system prompt, Bai Luo's expression grew puzzled.

Was the system showing up more frequently lately?

Had his experimenting with Vision patterns created some kind of connection between the system and Teyvat?

Intrigued, he examined the newly acquired "One-Winged Angel."

[One-Winged Angel (Costume)]: Wings are a gift to most angels but a flaw for the one-winged angel, who must now strive to conceal his wing, unable ever to dream of flight again.

Equipped with this Wind Glider, the user loses all gliding ability, gains a 100% jump boost, 30% increased fall damage, and immunity to falling damage.

Bai Luo: "…."

Looks like that fake Anemo Vision he bought in Inazuma might come in handy after all.
