Genshin Impact: I Can Obtain Adventure EXP

Chapter 500: Chapter 500: The Tenth Floor (2-in-1 Chapter)

The golden "Sword God of Lumine" flew above Nolan, condensing sword intent into the shape of a large umbrella to shield him from the moonlight.

Instantly, Nolan found himself cloaked in shadow.

He carefully felt the change—yet discovered that the suppression from the crimson moonlight hadn't lessened at all.

Could it be due to reflections from the ground and surrounding environment? he wondered, glancing down at the terrain.

After thinking for a moment, he condensed his sword intent into a golden sphere that fully encased his body.

Just as he expected, the suppression on his own strength disappeared—but the suppression on his spiritual power remained.

Moreover, over time, he could clearly sense the red moonlight slowly permeating the sword intent barrier.

After a few simple tests, he confirmed that the red moonlight was indeed the source of the suppression. Satisfied, he dissolved the golden sphere.

Now that he'd found a way to counter the red moonlight, he could rest easier.

So far, the red glow seemed to only suppress his strength—it hadn't shown any other harmful effects.

Even with his strength suppressed by 30%, Nolan remained immensely powerful. Taking on ordinary monsters was no issue at all.

Thus, he wasn't particularly worried about being ambushed by some random monster.

He pressed forward, step by step, with the Sword God scouting overhead. Before long, he arrived at a cemetery.

The graveyard was surrounded by a short white wooden fence, no more than two feet tall, with a gap in the middle serving as a gate. On either side of the entrance stood two lifeless, leafless trees.

Nolan furrowed his brow beneath his dark bangs. Why would a cemetery be built right by the roadside?

Was it a strange custom of the ancient civilization that built the Spiral Abyss? Or... had this graveyard already existed before?

He couldn't figure it out for now, but he didn't enter recklessly.

After all, there had been no monsters on the way here, and the odds of the Spiral Abyss not having any monsters were slim.

So he strongly suspected that something was lurking inside the graveyard.

Without overthinking it, he controlled the Sword God to descend from the air and fly into the cemetery.

Letting someone not afraid of danger scout ahead—naturally, that was her job.

As soon as the Sword God flew into the graveyard, Nolan felt something was off—the energy here was exceptionally dense!

It was so strong it could even seep through the Sword God's connection and affect him!

A cold wind blew through the eerily silent cemetery. Nolan stopped just outside the fence, while the Sword God continued to advance.

Once she had flown several dozen meters deeper inside, something strange happened—the tombstones on both sides of the path began to tremble lightly.

"Oh?" Nolan raised an eyebrow with interest from outside. "Don't tell me zombies are going to crawl out?"

Seeing the scene, his thoughts instinctively jumped to the zombie movies that had left a childhood scar on his psyche.

It was always in quiet, creepy environments like this that zombies would suddenly burst out from graves or coffins to attack people.

Something did emerge—but it wasn't zombies.

The tombstones began to rise slowly, and bubbling mud started to ooze from beneath them. The slime moved as though it had intelligence.

It merged with the slime from other tombs, forming a large pool of sentient mud.

Nolan watched as the mass surrounded the Sword God. Then, all at once, it rose like a curtain of sludge, trying to engulf her!

Interesting... Nolan had never encountered this kind of bizarre mud creature before. He opened his golden "Eye of Judgement" to examine it:

[Level: 85]

Level 85—not bad. No wonder it could survive on the ninth floor. This mud creature had some real substance.

Judging from its aura, it also appeared to be a boss-class monster, which meant its actual combat power was likely much higher than its level suggested.

But no matter how strong it was, it couldn't compare to Nolan. Just as the sludge attempted to engulf the Sword God—

—with a gentle upward flick of her golden sword—

BOOM!

An enormous surge of golden sword intent burst skyward, tearing through the monster's merging body and blasting it apart.

A pillar of golden light stretched from earth to sky.

Yet the mud creature, seemingly oblivious to pain or injury, began reassembling itself without a care in the world, continuing its fusion as though nothing had happened.

Its movements were sluggish—yet oddly composed, almost dignified.

Nolan's sword intent didn't seem to work as well on the creature as he'd hoped. Even though the sword aura easily split it in half, the mud quickly rejoined itself without much effort.

It became clear: although this mud monster wasn't extremely high-level, defeating it would require a different approach.

Hmm… I've got it!

Nolan thought for a moment, then with a flick of his mind, a surge of reality-altering power burst forth from the "Sword God of Lumine."

"Imagination" replaced "reality."

Beneath her feet, the dull gray ground was instantly transformed into glowing crimson — and in less than a second, magma exploded outward, rapidly spreading across the entire graveyard.

In the blink of an eye, the entire graveyard was replaced by molten lava, and the mud creature came into direct contact with it.

Scalding magma baked the monster's body, evaporating its moisture while its massive form slowly sank beneath the surface.

Nolan watched as the massive creature began splitting itself apart, squirming in an attempt to flee.

But this self-division only worked against it—each split piece became smaller and thus, more easily swallowed by the lava.

What might've taken over ten minutes to burn away was finished in less than thirty seconds thanks to the creature's own frantic actions.

In the end, it became one with the lava.

Roughly three minutes later, a notification popped up on Nolan's character panel:

[Defeated A Powerful Enemy. Obtained 56,772 Adventure EXP.]

As expected of a monster over level 80—it gave nearly 60,000 EXP in one go.

Nolan grinned to himself.

Now his total EXP had reached around 430,000. Just over 500,000 more and he could level up again!

With the mud monster taken care of, he commanded the "Sword God" to withdraw the projection of the Imaginary World.

Boom!

Chunks of dried mud fell from midair. The moment they hit the ground, they shattered into powder, which was gently stirred by the cemetery's eerie wind.

In this setting, it resembled nothing so much as the ashes of the dead.

Having dealt with the dangerous creature, Nolan still didn't drop his guard. He extended his spiritual sense, scanning the area thoroughly.

Only when he was sure there were no other threats did he press on.

After passing through the zombie-less, ghost-less, but mud-monster-filled graveyard, Nolan found himself entering a dark forest.

Under the crimson moonlight, the lifeless trees — bare of leaves and twisted into skeletal shapes — looked disturbingly eerie.

Who would've thought that the ninth floor of the real Spiral Abyss would differ so much from the game version?

A graveyard, a haunted forest… it was downright spooky.

He didn't have to wait long.

As the "Sword God" moved further into the woods, a faint white mist began to appear.

Gradually, it thickened.

Upon close observation, Nolan could see that the fog hid pale, translucent wraiths lurking within.

They showed no mercy to the radiant intruder. Drifting around the "Sword God," they opened their mouths and unleashed a long-range Soul Drain!

Perhaps because it was a mental attack, the Sword God began to flicker, appearing unstable under the barrage.

Nolan narrowed his eyes and activated his golden Eye of Judgement, peering into the white mist of the haunted forest.

Countless level indicators lit up before him:

[Level: 82]

[Level: 80]

[Level: 81]

After a quick count, he realized sixteen wraiths surrounded the Sword God, each launching mental attacks at her.

He could feel a strange force pulling her from all directions, as if trying to tear her apart.

"Heh," Nolan chuckled softly.

If they want to pull—then let them.

He stopped resisting. The Sword God was immediately split into sixteen golden orbs, flying at incredible speed toward each wraith.

But midway, the orbs morphed into razor-sharp longswords, accelerating even faster toward their targets!

By the time the wraiths reacted, it was too late.

Each blade pierced straight through their throats.

Then, barbed spikes burst from the blades, shredding their soul-bodies like sprinklers.

Next, the spikes began spinning, pulverizing the wraiths into countless fragments.

With no stable structure left, the remnants of their souls began to dissolve into the white mist.

Nolan's character panel popped up once more with a notification:

[Defeated Powerful Enemies ×16. Obtained 128,909 Adventure EXP.]

Sixteen wraiths for just under 130,000 EXP. Looks like none of them were elite-class—they were weaker than the mud monster.

After finishing them off, the golden swords merged again into the form of the "Sword God."

Nolan had her wander the haunted forest for a little while longer. Once the mist began to fade and no more spirits appeared, he continued his journey.

After passing through the forest and walking for about twenty minutes, Nolan finally arrived at the depths of the ninth floor. From a distance, he could already see the teleportation gate leading to the tenth floor.

However, standing right in front of the gate was a monster as large as a small mountain, blocking the path.

It had black fur and three canine heads arranged neatly in the shape of the Chinese character "品." The head at the top was red and breathed faint sparks of flame with each exhale. The left and right heads were ice-white and water-blue respectively—clearly wielding Cryo and Hydro elements.

A three-headed hound, huh?

It was rare to encounter such a monster. Nolan stopped about a hundred meters away from it.

[Level: 90]

Level ninety—and such a powerful aura. It was likely another elite boss, just like the mud monster. He remembered defeating a similar level 90 demon near the "Sal Terrae" region in the past—it had given over 100,000 EXP.

This was too big of a reward to miss!

As soon as the Elemental Cerberus noticed Nolan and the "Sword God of Lumine," all six of its eyes opened at once and locked onto them.

A terrifying aura radiated unchecked as it slowly rose to its feet, red rage beginning to glimmer in its pupils—

The red moonlight seemed to be empowering it!

"If it were anyone else—someone suppressed by the red moon while their opponent is strengthened—they'd probably have to run for their life.

But unfortunately… you ran into me."

Nolan casually tugged on the hem of his coat, smoothing the wrinkles. He released a tremendous aura as he stepped steadily toward the Cerberus.

"ROAR!!"

The Elemental Cerberus let out a menacing growl, trying to intimidate him into retreat.

Naturally, Nolan ignored it and kept walking closer, intensifying his pressure to counter its intimidation.

The beast's red-glowing eyes flashed. All three mouths opened wide at once, gathering terrifying elemental energy.

"Well, I guess intimidation doesn't work on you either. Is it the red moon's doing?"

Nolan glanced up at the sky and smiled. At the same time, he summoned three enormous semi-transparent threads—solidified spiritual energy.

Before the Cerberus could complete its elemental charge, the threads smashed down toward each of its three heads!

Sensing danger, the beast abruptly snapped its mouths shut, canceling the charge and leapt to the side.

But it hadn't regained its footing when—

The modest-sized "Sword God of Lumine" suddenly enlarged, growing even taller than the massive Cerberus.

Now the size difference was like a normal person facing an average dog.

With one hand gripping her golden longsword, she raised it and struck downward!

The only thing the Cerberus saw was a golden flash—

Then the central head instantly lost consciousness, while the two side heads watched in horror as half their body collapsed to the ground.

BOOM!

The two halves of the beast's body crashed onto the earth, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.

It had a physical body and wasn't a higher level than Nolan.

In his eyes, it only took one clean strike from the Sword God to deal with it!

[Defeated A Powerful Enemy. Obtained 111,525 Adventure EXP.]

Over 110,000 EXP—not bad at all.

Nolan nodded with satisfaction, not even sparing the fallen Cerberus another glance.

He had the "Sword God" scout the teleportation gate first. After confirming it was safe, he stepped through himself.

Spiral Abyss – Tenth Floor.

The environment was more or less the same: a crimson moon hanging in a starless sky.

Only now, the surroundings had become an ancient ruined relic site.

Nolan extended his spiritual perception and quickly sensed several high-level monsters wandering nearby—all at least level 85.

They were covered in thick fur and looked somewhat like giant apes.

Without hesitation, he sent the "Sword God" flying upward to attract their attention while he stood far away.

Then, using his solidified spiritual threads, he launched surprise attacks—

Stabbing them directly in the back of the head, one by one!
