The sky was painted in hues of dusk, marking that an entire day had passed since Nolan and the others had departed for their mission and now returned.

As they left The Chasm, following Dainsleif's advice, they destroyed the machine the Abyss Order had failed to take with them—the one capable of amplifying the spring water's effects.

After that, Dainsleif departed, taking with him a Black Serpent Knight who had just barely retained a sliver of rationality. He intended to find a way to help the knight recover further.

After all, there was something deeply familiar about that knight—he was likely once one of Dainsleif's close friends or subordinates. No matter what, Dainsleif couldn't just ignore him.

If Nolan remembered correctly, that knight's name was Halfdan, and he indeed had a strong bond with Dainsleif.

Aside from that, Nolan left behind a "Sword God of Lumine" avatar to help eliminate the Black Serpent Knights who had completely lost their sanity and fallen into the Abyss's grasp.

To help free them from the torment of their curse could be considered a kindness, after all.

At that moment, notifications on Nolan's character panel kept popping up, indicating Adventure EXP gained.

By now, he had collected over 20,000 EXP.

The main issue was that the enemies were too spread out—only about two Black Serpent Knights per location—so cleaning them up took time.

Along the way, he also encountered other native monsters of The Chasm, which he cleared out too. EXP was EXP, after all—no sense in wasting the opportunity.

"Ningguang should be back in her newly rebuilt Jade Chamber by now. If we want to find her, we'll need to go there," Yelan said as she let her hands drop and looked up toward the massive floating building in the sky.

"Hehe, let's go find her then!" Paimon cheered, delighted to see the Jade Chamber once again hovering high above.

"Mhm," Nolan replied with a nod.

He glanced at Lumine beside him and noticed she was unusually quiet—no doubt still thinking about her brother.

A swirl of green wind-element energy formed under their feet, and the group unfurled their Wind Gliders, soaring toward the Jade Chamber.

Before long, they landed smoothly atop the floating palace. Looking at the rebuilt structure, Nolan noticed it looked nearly identical to how it was before its destruction.

It seemed Ningguang was a rather sentimental person.

Thanks to this, the group didn't even need the help of her secretaries—they were already familiar with the layout and quickly made their way to Ningguang's usual office.

At that moment, Ningguang happened to be there, standing before a notice board filled with slips of paper—each one holding the kind of trade secrets merchants would kill to obtain.

She turned her graceful, fair face toward them, her crimson eyes locking onto the group.

"Well? Did everything go smoothly?"

"With the great Paimon involved, there were a few hiccups, but of course the final outcome was perfect!" Paimon said proudly, arms akimbo.

Lumine sighed and rubbed her forehead, clearly exasperated.

Nolan, meanwhile, calmly organized the events in his mind and began to explain the entire mission to Ningguang.

"So even the Abyss Order showed up…" Ningguang murmured. "You've truly been through a lot. I'm glad everything turned out well in the end."

Hearing that even a leader of the Abyss Order had appeared surprised her—learning it was Lumine's brother left her even more intrigued.

Clearly, there was more to the story, but she didn't pry. Instead, she smiled lightly and asked:

"Since you completed more than what was asked of you, your reward will be increased accordingly. Is there anything specific you'd like?"

Paimon, with her little hands behind her back, said without hesitation.

"Oh," Ningguang recalled that Nolan's personal space needed valuable items to expand. She slightly pursed her lips, nodding her head: "Hehe, alright, I'll arrange it."

"Yay!" Paimon clapped her hands joyfully.

Nolan also cracked a smile. It seemed that Ningguang's reward would be generous, as they were all comrades, after all, naturally leading to generosity.

"I've put in quite a bit of effort too, Ningguang, how about giving me a few days off?"

Yelan said, crossing her arms across her chest.

"You took a break just a while ago, didn't you? But since there aren't any tasks lately, do as you please."

Ningguang said, also placing her hands on her upper abdomen, subtly lifting her chest wrapped in the qipao.

"Alright then." Yelan smiled with satisfaction.

The enemies they encountered today were formidable, even though Nolan and Lumine shared most of the burden, Yelan still wouldn't lower her guard.

Thus, maintaining a high level of focus and mental tension was quite exhausting.

In hindsight, without Nolan and Lumine's help at the Chasm, the task wouldn't have gone this smoothly.

Lumine was washing her golden hair with eyes closed, warm water trickling over her tender, fair skin.

Hearing the door, she thought it was Paimon, continuing to soap her hair, entirely defenseless.

Only when Nolan suddenly embraced her from behind did Lumine snap her eyes open, amber pupils slightly constricting.

Everyone in the living room heard a surprised "Ah," as a blush crept onto Lumine's fair face.

Lumine's startled gasp echoed softly in the steamy bathroom, her body tensing for a fleeting moment as Nolan's strong arms wrapped around her slick, wet frame.

The warmth of his chest pressed against her back, contrasting with the cool water cascading over them. Her heart thudded wildly, a mix of surprise and a stirring heat blooming within her as his hands slid over her slippery skin, tracing the curve of her waist with deliberate slowness.

"Nolan...?" she murmured, her voice breathy, tinged with both uncertainty and an undeniable undertone of curiosity.

Her amber eyes flickered with a spark of excitement, her initial shock melting away as she felt the firm grip of his hands pulling her closer.

"Shh," he whispered against her ear, his breath hot on her damp skin, sending shivers down her spine. His lips grazed the sensitive spot just below her earlobe, and she instinctively tilted her head to give him better access, her soapy hands pausing mid-motion in her golden hair.

The scent of her floral shampoo mingled with the humid air, intoxicating him as he pressed a trail of slow, deliberate kisses along her neck, tasting the faint saltiness of her skin mixed with the clean water.
