It’s been a while, everyone. This is Toru Toba.

Thank you very much for picking up the ninth volume of Genius Prince. The theme this time is “The Binding Thread of Fate!” Whether we like it or not, our lives are connected to various destinies. They can be both a blessing and a curse. I hope you enjoyed discovering how Wein runs wild in a nation trapped by its own fate.

I also have exciting news. Genius Prince managed to get an anime! It’s hard to believe since there’s no magic and the new characters are almost always men! But it’s real! Yay!

When my head editor invited me out to celebrate, they brought a lovely cake with the words Congrats! How About Treason? written on it. It was too surreal. (And delicious.)

And now for my usual thanks and apologies.

First, to my editor, Ohara. This was the tightest of tight deadlines. I’m so sorry… I don’t think I’ve ever given you so much trouble. Please forgive me!

I caused my illustrator, Falmaro, a lot of trouble as well. I didn’t mean to send the manuscript late and give you a crazy schedule. Still, the color insert of Ninym is like a stunning SSR trading card. You have my sincerest gratitude…!

I also can’t thank you, the readers, enough. There’s no question your support is why Genius Prince hit such a huge milestone. I’m greatly looking forward to the day we can enjoy watching the anime together.
