Sylas looked up at the Basilisk King, only now realizing that his body wasn't quite listening to him—not just because he was so heavily injured, but because his perception was moving much faster than it could keep up.
Total Merge was unlike Fusion. It wasn't a melding of the body, oddly enough; it was a combining of the mind.
Flashes of the moments Sylas controlled the Basilisk King from a distance appeared in his mind. It was very similar to that, but on an entirely different level.
For all intents and purposes, they would become a single person, a new entity.
Sylas… wasn't sure how he felt about this.
What he was sure of was that his personality would be the dominant one. The Basilisk King was too immature and hadn't grown into its… no, his own just yet.
However, in the future, there was no telling if this would continue to be true. And, it wasn't even guaranteed if that would be the case now as well.
But… did he have a choice?
His body had nothing left right now. But, if the Basilisk King could borrow his abilities, and his mind could control its body…
The most important part about Total Merge wasn't that he could more perfectly remotely control his Contract. The most important aspect was how it melded Will…
There was simply nothing to hesitate about.
The Basilisk King seemed to understand Sylas' intentions. With a flicker of its tail, Sylas was swallowed by him.
"Let's do this… Gogo…" Sylas said.
Gogo froze, then pouted a bit. The lightest bit of a smile curled Sylas' lip before his aura became as sharp as blades.
Even in these moments, he hadn't chosen to give in.
And he certainly wouldn't be now.
If he could force this body to stand to his feet, then what would he be able to do now?
Total Merge.
Sylas' body went limp, sliding to the back of the Basilisk King's throat.
When his eyes opened once again, he saw the world from a much taller height. There was an oppressiveness deep within his body, a churning violence that constantly rebounded across his mind.
A desire for slaughter, an eagerness for battle.
Sylas opened his maw, unleashing a roar that shook the skies.
To the Dogons, they had only just appeared, and then Sylas stumbled to his Contract, only to hide inside of its mouth. They didn't even bother to stop it, finding it ridiculous.
This beast wasn't even the slightest bit of a threat.
What they didn't know was that not a single one of them had had the ability to hear the True Name of Gogo.
Maybe if they had heard that roar, they would have understood that the situation had completely changed.
It was only when the roar filled the skies, a crown blooming atop the head of Gogo, that their pupils constricted into pinholes.
The Bone-Tailed Lizard and the Glassirith vanished. All that remained was a mighty Basilisk standing tall to the skies.
In that moment, the crown above their head solidified, a perfect fusion of the Basilisk Crown and Sylas' own Crown.
The power of the Basilisk Crown transcended beyond its original level, moving beyond a Gene Lineage Form to become something far stronger.
The Skills of the Basilisk King, rather than leveling to FF+ Gene Skills, rose to FFF+ Gene Skills.
But this was hardly the main change.
The reason Sylas took this risk wasn't because of the ability to take control of the Basilisk King's body.
Behind him, the Beast Totem took shape once again, their stats multiplying by six.
And yet, this still wasn't the main change.
Sylas' Comprehensions bloomed one after another.
Glassvolt sparked lightning across Gogo's body, increasing their Physical stats even further. This time, the saturation of Aether didn't make Sylas feel even remotely bloated, the strength of a beast's body shaking him to his core.
This still wasn't the main change.
His Madness Comprehension bloomed. At some unknown time, it had transcended Legendary Mastery, reaching Progenitor Mastery. His Will increasing by +500% instead of +400%, and his Charisma jetting up by +800% instead of +600%.
He had been so distracted that he didn't notice his introspection triggered yet another shocking change in him.
This still wasn't the main change.
Mixed Martial Arts Comprehension bloomed. Sylas hadn't been sure how it would even work while he was in the body of a beast rather than a human. But he realized right then that any awkwardness he had felt while controlling a body that wasn't his own vanished in the blink of an eye.
It was as though he had been a Serpentes from his very birth. His Insight Path Talent melded into it seamlessly, making the transition even easier to grasp and understand.
He slapped his tail against the ground, his enormous body soaring into the skies under the might of his telekinesis.
This was still not the main change.
From Flexible Will to Blazing.
From Blazing to Tangible.
From Tangible to Sparking and from Sparking to Sparked.
From Sparked to Shaping…
This was the level Sylas was at. He had been knocking at another door since the very start of this battle. And the moment he connected with the Basilisk King, their Wills perfectly fusing into one, he shattered it.
From Shaping to Forging.
From Forging to Forged.
From Forged to Enlightened.
A Will that shook the World manifested, the Progenitor Flame burning so brightly that Sylas could tell… he could tell that this was Earth's last effort to help him.
And yet, this still wasn't the main change.

[Luck: 1283]
—
For the first time, he could see Gogo's Luck.
And the result made the world burst with colors in his eyes as though everything was at the very tips of his fingers.
His senses grasped everything.
He had never felt more in control in his life.
The feeling was absolutely intoxicating.
Their roar came to an abrupt stop as Sylas appeared amidst the Dogons, looming high above.
"DIE."
The language of Ancient Ithkuil came out like a command.
